I have had a busy week and we have had a week of monsoon weather! Oh no I hear the thunder again as I type this!......I have been busy at work as well as preparing for my new side job too :) I am so looking forward to my side job as this is visiting babies at home after they have been in the NICU, being a NICU nurse is my REAL job!
This weekend is the 17th birthday of my sweet first daughter, Melissa Ann, she would of been 17 yesterday and tomorrow is the 17th anniversary of when God took her home to be with Him. Melissa was a term baby and sadly was born severly birth asphyxiated (her oxygen had been cut off during delivery), it took 18 mins of resuscitation to bring her back to us....much too long, she lived her days in the NICU on a ventilator with many medical problems and many drugs to keep her alive! Sadly when she was 2 days old it became clear to us that Melissa needed to leave us and we gave her back to God.....we miss her everyday and someone in our family is always missing, but we praise God that He is a great God and that he had a plan for our family, we have seen many changes in our lives because of Melissa which we are forever grateful. Our family releases a balloon every year for her and our son has chosen the balloon for her this year :) It is covered in butterflies! Which in our family we take as a symbol of new life and we praise God that we all have new life and that in God's timing we will all be together again!
I need some advice....I work night shift as a nurse....what is the best way to record my food? At the moment I am just going midnight to midnight, I have just imputed my dinner and it is all there as breakfast and then I will journal my other food later.....when I finish my shift I will then sleep and have something light when I get up and then that will probably be all for the day which means that I am going to be under my calories :( Any advice would be appreciated, thanks
I am so excited! This morning I was looking for my motivation to go to Curves.....well I did go and I am so glad that I did! Last time that I went I was feeling tired and not really into it and the numbers on the computer showed that I had my level decreased by 1 due to my last workout :( Well that was all the motivation that I needed and I REALLY worked out today! At the end when the computer gives you your report of how hard you worked out, I had worked all my muscle groups (I usually have 1 or 2 that are in the 80% range) and I had burned 408 calories!! I was so excited and this is my new record! Talk about motivation :)
Today at church this was our sermon....Hush My Mouth! It was a very challenging message especially in the area of listening! Not a strength that I have all the time for sure! So this week my challenge is to listen more and talk less - only with God's help :)
So I am trying to get back on track on here and now I have 2 friends to keep me focused - go Sarah & Melissa! Though today at lunch I over did the calories so it is a light dinner for me! Who new that lemon meringue pie had that many calories!!! But it was good!
I am now committing to this website and to track my food and exercise, have no excuse as I have sparkpeople on my blackberry!
