I read this article today on SP and I am acepting these 5 things as my own......these are the 5% that lose weight and keep it off.....
#1 Make it public - having a buddy, keeing a journal or blog announcing goals
#2 Pay Attention - knowing whats going on and what causes setbacks
#3 Enjoy Themselves - make it a positive experience and have fun with it, change it up
#4 Make gradual changes - a few small habits at a time rather than diving in, this was the revelation for me - I want to change everything now!
#5 Allow themselves to fail - what?? They have failed at some time but have forgiven their setbacks and refused to beat themselves up. Every failure is one step closer to ultimate success!
I am going to write these 5 things down and put them where I can see them! Reading this article was very enlightening!
How many times do I have fall off track to get my act together?????!!!!! The first 2 weeks of the challenge I was doing great and then I fell off tracking food and now I have gained!! I am so mad at myself, this seems to be an ongoing cycle - lose, gain, lose, gain......So this morning I have all my books out and I am starting afresh. Will you all keep me accountable, I need buddies to keep me on track! In the words of one of my sp friends, everyday is a new beginning - but I keep slipping back into my old lazy habits! So I am claiming today as a new beginning and I AM going to input this weight onto the BLC - believe me I was tempted not to enter it and miss a week!!! I also think that when I have a break from SP that is when I start to gain! I need you all!!!
No More excuses! I am doing this!! I don't care that it is Christmas this week, I will make plans for it - I am the one doing the cooking!
Hoping to have a better report next time!
Some of you may remember me asking for prayers for my friend in New Zealand that was dying of cancer.....well he has now passed away. He passed away in his sleep and leaves behind his wife, Tracey and 2 children. Their youngest is just starting high school after their summer break. I would appreciate your prayers for them over the Christmas season.
Just got back from a walk with my son, we walked for an hour and covered 5.8 miles! Not sure if that is good, but it made me feel the burn! We made the commitment to each other that we will walk everyday that I am home from work! So I now have a walking buddy! Our walk involved different terrain as we heading onto trails at times where there was no sidewalk So funny, he now wants me to track the route on SP, he said that he loves SP's website! That is a huge compliment from a 14 year old boy!! :)
Also drank 24 oz water on the walk.....
The labwork came back on him and he is a little anemic, he just needs to take some vitamins with iron, his lymphocytes were also elevated so the doc thinks that he is fighting a viral infection, but he seems ok - heck he just did a big walk!
I am back to work tonight but will check in when I can and I am packing my walkng shoes!
