Beautiful Walk

Saturday, December 11, 2010

Just got back from a walk with my son, we walked for an hour and covered 5.8 miles! Not sure if that is good, but it made me feel the burn! We made the commitment to each other that we will walk everyday that I am home from work! So I now have a walking buddy! Our walk involved different terrain as we heading onto trails at times where there was no sidewalk emoticon So funny, he now wants me to track the route on SP, he said that he loves SP's website! That is a huge compliment from a 14 year old boy!! :)
Also drank 24 oz water on the walk.....
The labwork came back on him and he is a little anemic, he just needs to take some vitamins with iron, his lymphocytes were also elevated so the doc thinks that he is fighting a viral infection, but he seems ok - heck he just did a big walk!
I am back to work tonight but will check in when I can and I am packing my walkng shoes!

Sick Child

Thursday, December 09, 2010

Oh well! I did not get anything done that I had planned, have the ingredients all ready for baking :) I did manage to submit the paperwork to the county that I needed to for my job, but did not get any of the other paperwork done, so am going to go to the county office tomorrow and do it from there where I will not be interrupted!
I got off to a bad start this morning, went out for breakfast with my husband, thought I had made the best choices but when I converted it into WW points - not so much! Anyhow still had a great time and have been eating lighter during the day - I have 4 points left for dinner but I have not dipped into my weekly points yet so that is my back up! I am loving the new WW pointsplus with all these fruits and veges free points :) Was funny but last week I counted my points and then logged my food on SP as well as WW and my calories were at the higher end of my range and I lost weight! Go figure!!
My exercize plans went out the window today with the school calling me to come and get my son from school! This is the 2nd time this week, I had to go get him on Tuesday cause he was dizzy, feeling sick and weak, we went straight to the pediatrician as this has happened before and he sent us for bloodwork for anemia as he gets a lot of blood noses! So will see, then today he was complaining of general weakness too and feeling sick, but he does not have a fever. So he came home again! I made him do some math work when we got home though! He does look pale but he is a pale child so hopefully the bloodwork will be back tomorrow!
So that has been my day :)

I hope your son is feeling better today and that you figure out the nosebleeds, etc. I tended (especially when I was younger) to have a lot of nosebleeds in the winter because of the dry air. Something to consider.
Have a great day!

Better day tomorrow I hope! I too have had a sick child...all week in fact! Tomorrow will mark 1 full week away from school, and a doctor visit, phone call, or test everyday, some of these twice a day! I just want her well!

Hang in there...hopefully the weekend will bring healing vibes to our children!

I am a loser!!

Tuesday, December 07, 2010

YAY! It has been a week (inluding today) since I started the weight loss challenge with the lemon team and I also started back on weight watchers! I am pleased to report that I have lost 3.4 pounds!!! YAY! emoticon
I have also been measuring too and I have lost everywhere except my thigh and I am feeling great! emoticon
I even went to a friend's princess party last night and I had a small piece of cake and ice cream! My ice cream was 120 calories and I enjoyed every bit of it, though I did let my daughter taste some of it too!
I have not been great on the exercise front though this week :( I have been working alot and so have either been working or sleeping! Today I plan on taking a walk though and also I need to vacum which I am sure will count as something! I want to try to get the Christmas tree up today too!
So come on lemons! We can do it! I promise to do better on the exercise part next week!

I have rejoined weight watchers today and I am ready to begin the lemon teams winter challenge, starts today and I am ready to go !
I have kept to program today even though I ended up having to come to work for 4 nightshifts instead of 3! I got some frozen meals and I am trying to keep up on my water! Got it all in for yesterday (or is that still today)!
Thanks to everyone for all of your support :)

Today is a new beginning...

Monday, November 29, 2010

I am so mad at myself! It appears that I gained back the 5 pounds that I had lost! I have now reset my weight ticker to reflect that and I am sooo frustrated! I am reflecting back over the last days that I have been away working and the first couple of days I was not eating enough but I thought I was doing OK. I have decided that the lack of sleep plays a big part on my weight loss, I notice that when I am short on sleep is when I tend to gain.....great I am a nightshift nurse! On Saturday I went to work for an extra 6 hours and ended up being there for 24!! Needless to say I was unprepared for this and had not taken any food or drink with me! I worked 6 hours then got to rest for 4 hours then I was back on for 16 hours! I was snacking on whatever I could find to get me through and I know I was not drinking enough! SO I think the good thing is that I know what happened! So today is a new beginning, I have weighed and measured and logged both of these even though I did not like them! I have reset my weight ticker and I am looking fo
rward to starting the BLC with the lemon team! I am thinking of taking my bathroom scales with me so that I can weigh in on Wednesday with my own scales....what do you think team?
I am frustrated with myself but I am determined that I am going to make this work! Need to rethink my strategies incase I get caught out again like over the weekend. I am going to go and buy some snacks today that I can leave in my locker and maybe some drinks too!
I usually take my meals with me for when I am working but was not planning on being there longer, so need to have a secret stash somewhere at work!
Thanks for listening to me rave!

Great plan of action. It is so hard when we get thrown for a loop. Keeping healthy snacks and a secret stash of food is a great idea. And the drinks, well, there is always water...to me the best drink in the world (most of the time).

Using the same scale to weigh with is very important. I've noticed that the scale I use at Curves and my doctor's scale rarely say the same thing (of course, I usually am shoeless at Curves and wear the same type clothing for each weigh-in whereas I weigh later in the day - after breakfast and sometimes lunch - and have different clothes on).

You can do it! You have the drive and determination to have a set game plan and get it done! Keep up the good work (learning from our mistakes is good work!).

Blessings!

I think if you take your personal scale with you is a great idea, because that is the scale that you weigh-in on every week, and other scales can fluctate with many different people using them! I am so excited that you are starting this challenge with us as well!

Well, been there and done that! Yes, plan ahead and do your best. You seem to have a good attitude--start over! Just do your best! Let go of the anger and frustration and don't beat yourself up about this lapse. You can do it! emoticon

Sounds like you've got a good plan. It's frustrating when you're working hard and doing well, but get derailed by something out of your control. Since this is a journey, we're all learning how to regain control.
You CAN do this!
