Back to work!

Thursday, November 18, 2010

I hope that this does not post twice! I had posted it, but it ended up somewhere in cyberspace! I am all packed and ready to head back to work. I am working the next 4 nights and am going to try REALLY hard to keep to my plan! I even have my walking shoes with me! I will try to check in as able during the night - if my wee patients let me! I have my food journal with me so that I can keep track of my food even if I cannot get online! Hoping for a favorable weigh in when I get home......

It sounds like you have a good plan. Of course, I suspect most nurses walk a lot anyway!

Weight Loss Journals

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

As part of my winter countdown challenge, today we had to read a motivational article and so here is mine.....
It was awesome about journalling your weight loss journey! It has motivated me to do this, I journal anyway so I am going to start a weight loss journal. In this article the lady had made a scrapbook, but I will be doing mine on the computer with a flash drive, then I can add photos as well as journal wherever I am! And I can keep adding to it,
Thanks for the motivation! If you are interested in journalling, check this article out!

I journal just about everyday about what's going on in my life and it also helps relieve a lot of emotions. Keep up the good work.

Can't Spell!

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

OK for those on the lemon team I cannot spell TURKEY! I accomplished the 'T' today - just went to Curves for 40mins and feel great! I had lost my motivation but I have now found it again! It helped that I was meeting someone there, once I got there it was great! I am also very excited to hear that my Curves is going to be having zumba come! They are pulling up the carpet on Saturday to make the floors suitable for zumba too! I live in a town of 15,000 and I hear my SP and work friends talk about zumba so I am excited to be getting the opportunity to try it too! Even the older ladies at curves are talking about it!! YAY!
On the TURKEY challenge....I have now caught up, does reading "the spark" count as my motivational read? I am still reading it! Have been better with my water and I am having regular visits to the bathroom too!
And I just found out that I do not have to go to work tonight! I had signed up as an extra but I really wanted to go to AWANA at church as well as Bible Study tonight and now I get to do that and be free to go to the Ladies Bible Study tomorrow morning! We are doing an awesome study on Esther by Beth Moore. Maybe I will even make it ti Curves again tomorrow too!

Enjoying my days off

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

I have been enjoying being home with the family, I have had 5 nights off YAY! Yesterday had to go to a one day conference which was good. Have been shredding papers today and catching up on all my papers that are laying around.
I am also starting to journal my food and exercise, thanks to FATGIRLSLIMMM, I got a food and exercise journal from amazon.com - thanks Elyse for your advice :)
I started my journal yesterday and love my journal!
I bought my thanksgiving turkey today!

We all need down time...both physically and mentally...to be able to truly enjoy what we have. Enjoy it while you can!

Way to go! Starting to journal food is a great way to really track what you are eating. I love using the nutrition tracker here on SP, but the down side for me is that I can only do it at my desk at home, so if I'm out and about, I have to remember exactly what I've eaten and track it after I get home (or in the morning if I get home too late at night).

Blessings!

Family time is sooo precious. Enjoy your days off. Too few and far between huh? I am glad you are getting caught up on stuff! It seems I am always behind in that category! I got my turkey too! I think we are celebrating Friday since my brother is a firefighter and has to work Thanksgiving day! More time to watch the parades I guess!
Hugs,
sarah

Walking with my daughter

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Well, I have had a great day and am doing well! My daughter (16) wanted to go to the sprint store today so I told her we would be walking! It is not that far, she was shocked! She was asking why? We have 4 cars!! LOL! So we walked together and it was a lovely day out....the walk got cut short though as we ended up with 2 small children for the trip back! She was going to babysit later but the Mom needed her to do it earlier than planned so she bought them to the store! Anyhow it was fun and I still walked for 30mins! The other lesson I learned is that Payson does not have very many sidewalks around where I live!

We don't have any sidewalks here where we live, either. But, that doesn't stop the kiddos from walking to church sometimes.

I don't walk many places specifically, but we do ride bikes occasionally to the grocery, Hobby Lobby, or Hancock fabrics. My dh would walk to work occasionally, before we bought his truck. Now, there's no way he would be caught walking! But, just maybe, I need to start doing more walking to get from here to there. Thanks for the inspiration.

When I tell people we walk in and out of town (about a 25 min walk each way including some good hills) they look horrified! LOL Even more so when I tell them we often take the scenic route, that adds a further ten or 15 mins each way. I just ask them whether they would rather sit in traffic or breath fresh air and connect with nature? Being able to walk through the park helps ease the stress a trip to town can sometimes cause. :-)

Thanks for explaining the Lemons and the BLC. :-)
Hugs,
Lex xxx

We have lots of sidewalks and traffic here. We dont own a car so we have to go transit everywhere, so I end up doing a lot of walking when I go out especially because things are so spread out. My 2 sons now 38 and 36 dont own cars and bus and walk every where too. My grandsons are growing up the same way. Glad you had a good walk with your daughter.

Hello there. I know the feeling. I love getting in a 30, 60, or 90 minute walk. I live in Miami and there are tons and tons of gated communities ; I love the fact they they build shopping plazas where we live, but the downside is that most gated communities do not have sidewalks.
