Back to work tonight!

Thursday, November 04, 2010

Well my days off have flown by! I have been catching up on things that needed to be done but could do with another couple of days off, my to do list still has too many things on it!
I am pleased to report that I have been doing better tracking my food, but not so good on getting to Curves, I am thinking all my other activities made up for it this week.....been gardening, cleaning out our storage shed, rearranging cupboards, housecleaning and the list goes on.....
On the up......or is it down??? I have lost 4.6pounds! I had gained some while I was away, so have lost that and then some more, so must be doing something right. My new eating plan must be working :)
So tonight I go back to work, just working tonight and half of tomorrow night cause I need to be awake with my band parent hat on! Saturday is the state competition for my daughter high school band....the video camera is charging!
Talk to ya all later

Making my meals :)

Thursday, October 28, 2010

I am still on track emoticon
I have been making my meals and snacks for the next 5 nights of working. Have made up a batch of tuna casserole (thanks Lexi for the idea).

Does anyone know how to track my sugar intake? So far today I have had 21g, I went to add it to my nutritional tracking, was able to add sodium but cannot see sugar - weird huh?

I am keeping a manual check at the moment

I just added sucrose and fructose as well. For some reason, none of the foods I am eating has the sucrose entered in the nutritional values. I had syrup today, it rang in as 0mg?

There are several kinds of sugar listed in the possible nutrients. You would probably have to track all of them and add them together, but unfortunately many items may not list them separately.

Fructose, Galactose, Glucose (dextrose), Lactose, Maltose, Sucrose are the names listed in the SP nutrient list that I see.

Just added sucrose but it is not counting my sugar :( So will just manually keep track for now

To track your sugar you need to add sucrose to the list of items tracked. Sucrose is the fancier name for table sugar. There are a lot of other kinds of sugars out there, but the primary one is sucrose.

I'm glad you're enjoying your tuna casseroles. :-) I wish I could help with the sugar tracking, but I have only used the basics on the tracker so far.

Little setback!

Thursday, October 28, 2010

So yesterday, I was full of good intentions! I was doing well until I had a work meeting in the town where I live and then they took me to a work lunch at Chilis! We it would not of been so bad, but normally these things are planned and I go online and check out the menu first, so I was unprepared! Iwas careful the rest of the day and the calories were not so bad, but it was not what I had planned! So today I am back on track and so far doing good. I am going to Curves very soon, am waiting for my husband to get back home with my truck! I work again tonight so will get a visitors pass so I can go to Curves while I am away.

I hear you! Those unexpected restaurant meals can really throw a wrench into your eating plans. But with practice, you can come through with flying colors. Some of them have designated WW or "healthy" meals on the meanu. If not, I look for something that's low fat and relatively unprocessed - nothing fried, no cream, etc.
You're doing awesome by not letting this derail you! You CAN do this!!

    You can do it!

By the way, KiwiNurse, I hope your family in New Zealand has not been affected to badly by all the earthquakes. They have been unbelievable.
