October Goals Progress - Week 4

Monday, October 29, 2012

1. To weigh 229 by October 31.
Weighed in today at 232 -1 lb change this week, for the month 4 lb down, in 29 days, can't imagine I will shed 3 lb in 2 days, so I will offer my concession speech now: "230's you have had me in your strong-hold for 2 months now, and accept that I will start November under your thumb, but I promise that you will not keep me there long!! I am ready to say good-bye to you, and it will not be long now! Enjoy the last few days ruling over my scale, because the 220's are on their way!" (Okay, so maybe not so much a concession speech as a pep talk for the next battle, but doesn't it sound good?!)

2. To walk/jog a total of at least 18 miles each week. emoticon (21 this week!!)

3. To do 30 squats, bicycle crunches and push-ups daily. emoticon

4. 100% attendance to SparkPeople for the month of October.
Logged in every day this week, but missed 2 days in the course of the month!

And to give a SparkGoodie, with a positive message, to someone outside of my circle of SparkFriends at least once each week. emoticon

5. Track my food eaten daily, emoticon
and stay within the recommended ranges for total calories - 6/7 for this week, 27/29 for month as a whole.
carbs, - 28/29
fat, - 27/29
and protein. - 28/29

6. Progress report in my blog every Monday. emoticon

7. Get to bed on time, emoticon
and get out of bed without hitting the snooze button!! 6/7 days - pretty good for me emoticon

NOVEMBER GOALS - Coming soon to a blog post near you! (As soon as I figure out how to set them realistically for the month of craziness that is ahead!)

October Goals Progress - Week 3

Monday, October 22, 2012

Not the most exciting title in the world, but it fits this blog!
Now on to my progress to date:

1. To weigh 229 by October 31.
Weighed in today at 333 -2 lb change this week, for the month 3 lb down, 4 to go.... It is probably unlikely that I will lose 4 lbs in 9 days, considering 3 lbs took 22, but that won't stop me from trying emoticon

2. To walk/jog a total of at least 18 miles each week.
Close but not quite... I did 16/18 for this week. I will do better next week!!

3. To do 30 squats, bicycle crunches and push-ups daily. emoticon (Although Saturday's were a bit interesting, but that is a whole different story.

4. 100% attendance to SparkPeople for the month of October.
I missed Saturday since I was away. But I did track everything when I returned.

And to give a SparkGoodie, with a positive message, to someone outside of my circle of SparkFriends at least once each week. emoticon

5. Track my food eaten daily, emoticon (with the caveat that I did the weekend retroactively.)
and stay within the recommended ranges for total calories - emoticon (At least according to my best estimates of food I did not prepare myself over the weekend.)
carbs, - emoticon (ditto)
fat, - emoticon (ditto)
and protein. - emoticon (ditto)

6. Progress report in my blog every Monday. emoticon

7. Get to bed on time, and get out of bed without hitting the snooze button!!
Yeah - not so good on that one. I went to bed on time Monday - Thursday and again on Sunday but Friday and Saturday were definitely way beyond my bed time.
As for getting up with out snoozing the alarm I did it 5/7 days (including Saturday and Sunday)

No too shabby I suppose, so I will emoticon and maybe I will surprise myself with some emoticon results by the end of the month. emoticon If not, I will keep emoticon and try harder in November!!

October Goals - week 2 progress report!

Monday, October 15, 2012

3. To do 30 squats, bicycle crunches and push-ups daily. emoticon

4. 100% attendance to SparkPeople for the month of October. Logged in every day, but forgot to spin the wheel yesterday emoticon

And to give a SparkGoodie, with a positive message, to someone outside of my circle of SparkFriends at least once each week. emoticon

5. Track my food eaten daily, emoticon
and stay within the recommended ranges for total calories - emoticon
carbs, - emoticon
fat, - emoticon
and protein. - emoticon

6. Progress report in my blog every Monday. emoticon

It is kind of frustrating to me to have a 0 change when the nutrition and fitness all look like they are on target emoticon The piece to the overall wellness puzzle that I think was the saboteur for me was sleeping - I let some difficulties (work and family) get under my skin and had trouble falling asleep and getting up. I am a mess when my sleep isn't good, so even if I did okay with my eating and exercise, I am sure that my body wasn't using them at its best. I am planning to be more attentive to that aspect of my life in the coming week.

Therefore, new goal for the rest of the month:
7. Get to bed on time, and get out of bed without hitting the snooze button!!

Let's see how that one goes emoticon

I know its hard to not see the scale go down, but you are doing all of the things correct that you can control, so you can feel good about that! Eventually the rest will come :)

I'm so impressed with you meeting all the goals that you set for yourself! You're doing amazing. And I keep hearing from other people (I do believe you even threw it back at me not too long ago) that sometimes a lack of weight drop could be because you have built up more muscle, which is heavier than fat.
Maybe we should all be going to our overall body measurements and comparing them more often than our scales.
I know, you don't notice as big of a difference as quickly, but I'll bet it's a lot more accurate ;o)
(And yes, I'll try to take my own advice the next time I get a bit frustrated too lol)

Freaky Friday

Friday, October 12, 2012

This morning I decided to go into my office a bit early to tackle the mess on my desk - I am determined to have my desk cleared again before the weekend. I live close to the office and walk to work every morning.

Today, it feels like Halloween! The sky was mostly overcast - the sun wasn't quite rising yet so there was a spooky, gray aura all around. The wind was blowing the fallen leaves all around. And to make the picture complete, there was a murder of crows flying about squawking!

Okay, so maybe it wasn't a terribly bone-chilling experience, but it definitely was fitting to the season!

Have a great Friday everyone!!

Just be thankful there were no cobwebs of frost on the ground or lurking shadows of menacing fog which I had to encounter on my drive to work early this morning. emoticon Fall is definitely here and winter is chasing it right behind.

Living in South Florida has its perks like unending hot weather almost year round.
I do miss the changing of the seasons, falling of leaves and cooler weather.
If that were the case I would likely want to live in Florida.
