The Beach Boy concert was great.....I had a great time, was up dancing in my seat....yahooo
luck my butt is a size 10 now cuz the seats were close, very close....But we both enjoyed, the played 2 hours straight, no intermission or opening act...those old guys can sing..lol fun night...

Today was full and busy...we went looking at new 5th wheel trailers, fun but tiring too. we were there for 6 hours.....so tonight we grilled and now relaxing, Gary watching football, me sparking, my legs are sore tonight..over 25k steps yesterday and over 19k today....this old gal needs some rest..tomorrow we are going early to get wood, that will be lots of work, we are clearing some land for a guy who will give us the wood....if you know how much a cord of wood goes for you understand..
so off I go to have my snack and read a bit then off to bed, we are getting up at 4am..

have a healthy week end

I love the Beach Boys! Hopefully I can dance to them soon!

Thanks for all the prayers, they have done well. I am feeling pretty good for less than 2 weeks after surgery. I am up and around-get tired quickly, but otherwise able to function. Still on pain meds, so no driving right now. emoticon

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Diana

Fun Friday

Friday, September 02, 2011

Today is an other fun day....no work this o see if they have morning....first I'm heading to the farmers market to see if they have small green bell peppers, I want to make some for the freezer, they taste so good on a cold winters night....also time to start canning....lots of tomatoes are almost ready from our garden to make tomato sauce, and just canned tomatoes..

Then we are going to the fair and then the Beach Boy's concert at 8pm, hope I can stay awake, you know 9.30 is my bed time...lol

so a very busy day a head, good thing is I'm feeling energized this morning after my workout and weight lifting....so I am pumped for the day....
hope it doesn't rain but the weather man is calling for cooler temps....it won't be 100 but maybe 95...hey that is cooler

lets all eat healthy this Labor day week end, get out move that body and stay away from the food tables....do something new......play ball with the kids or take them for a walk or ride a bike....it can be fun ....

I forgot a very important comment

Thursday, September 01, 2011

Yesterday I shared a list of what was the best part of loosing weight..

After giving it more thought I forgot to mention...feeling just so proud of myself, I thought back in 2006 I was going to be a 350 pound women for the rest of my life.....

but today I can see all my hard work, I can look in the mirror and say......YES I DID IT, I DID WHAT I WAS TOLD I WOULD AND COULD NEVER DO....
when I can slip into a size 10 jean when I use to wear a tight 44 I smile down to my toes.....when people call me small or tiny, it brings tears to my eyes......I can now hold my head high....I can do anything I want and go where ever I want with out worry , shame or embarrassment.....
but being healthy is the most wonderful gift anyone can give there self.....

I thank God each day for my hard work and determination....and my spark friends as well...

have a healthy week end....
I don't have to work in the morning, so trying to find a new trail to take in the morning...

Hooray!!! Hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow and that you find a fun trail to hike! And if you're interested in a charity walk, I'm taking part in a walk called Out of the Darkness on Saturday, Sept. 10 -- happens in the Highlands Ranch area (south of Littleton). It benefits the American Federation for Suicide Prevention. Holler if you're interested and want the link to register -- I'll send it to you.

Cheers!

what is the best thing about loosing weight

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

I meet today after work with a few people ...we talked about healthy living and how it might impact our lives.....
I was asked what was the best thing about being 200+ pounds lighter....gee how much time do I have to answer, everyone laughed...so I thought I might give a short list of things that have gotten better in my life after being here on Sparkpeople for over 5 years...
1. healthier
2. more energy
3. sleep better
4. buy clothes I love
5. more active
6. less embarrassment
7. more adventure
8. more happiness
9. more confidence
10. Friendlier
well I could go on and on but the best thing is to have meet so many really wonderful people here on Sparkpeople..... emoticon

keeping all the positive is the way to never go back to old habits.....

have a healthy Thursday

MAGGIEROSEBOWL 9/1/2011 10:54AM

I love your list. All of it is so true. I have so much energy now. Yesterday I worked 8 hours, and it was a full day, attending meetings, putting together and distributing handbooks, arranging travel, etc. At 4 I left work and came home. I immediately began preparing the evening meal for myself, son & hubby and after a nice Parmesan tilapia dinner, I cleaned it all up. Then it was time to read more of my homework assignment. I worked on that until about 7:30, when the temp finally dropped to 81. Outside I went for a quick (decided to see if I could set a personal best time) hike down to the end of our road. It's only 1.2 miles round trip and I usually go farther than that, but it wasn't getting any earlier and the light was fading fast, so I decided to go for speed this trip. Sure enough, after breaking into a jog several times on the way back, I did it in 21 minutes. Not bad for an old lady. When I came inside, I finished reading my homework, then wrote and submitted (everything is done on-line now) my 3-paragraph response to the readings. By then it was after 9:00. I sat in front of the TV for the next couple of hours, working on my cross stitch project, before heading up to bed at 11. I NEVER would have had the energy to do half of this in one day before. It would have taken me all week! But it makes me feel so good about myself, that I CAN do all that now.

But now, it's time to get ready for class. I took today off from work, so I would have a 5-day weekend, but forgot I have to go to class today anyway. Ten percent of your grade is for perfect attendance. That is 10% I'm going to earn. When I got up this morning (I slept in--until 8:00!), I went outside right away for a long walk, 3.4 miles. I didn't set any speed records today, it's really windy out there, and getting warmer every minute. So now it's time for a shower, then lunch with hubby. I may get more time tonite for counted cross stitch, which I love. No more class assignments to prepare until Monday night, so I'm going to take it easier today! But it's good to know I have the energy to do whatever I want!

Life is good!

taking charge

Tuesday, August 30, 2011

I had such a fun day yesterday, to bad it had to be marred with the darn thoughts of FUDGE.....as I said we bought some yummy fudge, we shared it but there was some left....most of the evening till I finally fell a sleep I kept thinking about that darn fudge....I did not need to eat another bite or even a half of a bite....I had more than my share.....

an boy was I disappointed when I got on that scale this morning...up 5 pounds, ya I know it happens, I'll see what tomorrow looks like but still, it's time right this minute to nip it in the bud...I don't want to let this get away from me......so I marched right to the fridge and took out the small blue box that held that heavenly tasting junk and then marched to the big trash bin in the garage and threw it will all my might in, then slammed the lid and screamed, that's where you belong, not in my body, not on my thighs....YOU HAVE NO POWER OVER ME, I AM THE MASTER OF MY LIFE...wow I feel so much better.....lessoned learned, to say I will never eat fudge again would be a lie but next time buy just enough for each of us to have a small serving and not bring it home.....

learning lessons are part of winning this struggle....

have a healthy day and be happy

RAINBOWMF 8/30/2011 3:15PM

I agree with Jo, you did not gain weight by eating a piece of fudge, did not.

It made you feel better to get rid of it so that is a good thing. You have to do what makes you feel good.

Thats the way Kitt. Show it who is boss! I can hardly bring myself to throw food away, especially when it's something I really want to eat. There have been times I'd eat the whole thing just to get rid of it so it wouldn't be in the house to tempt me anymore...craziness!

Well done KITT-Lesson learned buy just a single serving, MODERATION is key.
Buying yourself temptation is not a good idea. Buy it, eat it, enjoy it and move on!.
I am happy the trash has it now.

Kitt --you know that the bite of fudge did not add 5 lbs to you... and like me ( I do the same thing) you know it is probably water.sodium gain which will disappear once you get back at the routine your body is used to..Remember just last week you were in the air flying ..adjustment to body there, then eating out more often in restaurants-- even with healthy choices --the sodium in those meals!!ugh.. I do it too.. When on holidays we are to enjoy not worry . This 5 lbs... is NOTHING for you to fret about ..It was not the fudge .. so do not feel guilty do not beat yourself up ...just get back to your routine and you will have that 5 lbs off in a blink of an eye...Remember this is not a fat gain..

I just did this myself --went to the wedding drank a little too much even though I ate good I was up 3 lbs...errrrrr... but by next WI I was down to my same old same old weight --you will be too..
