Good day
I had a good day food wise and exercise wise.
It was a bit cooler today and that was a nice thing.
Went for a walk after lunch, with about 5 other people so we had a good time walking and talking..that little walk sure does help break the day up....I get a paid lunch and so I guess I get a paid walk too....

Not overly hungry today, ate my snacks, my lunch seem like a lot today, had a chicken wrap and an apple so it wasn't that much but I had thought half way through that I could stop and be satisfied but worried that I would be starved when I got home and that could be dangerous...

Well not much more to say healthy , exercise and learn to love your self NO MATTER what the scale says.....

    It's funny you mention thinking you have too much to eat sometimes. Once in a while I start to eat my lunch or dinner and find I am not hungry any more but there is still quite a bit left. At first I thought, I have to eat this much but then I realized I can always save it till later. SO that is what I do now. SOmetimes I eat half my dinner at 6 and the other half at 8. I try to make sure I eat enough calories daily, but as you know, when you weigh a lot, you have to eat a lot. Maybe you can save a bit of your lunch for an hour later and grab that last bit then? Thought I'd mention this.

    Kitt, when you were full, what about keeping the rest of the lunch to eat before going home and this way you won't be starved when you hit the door and switch gears?

    Glad you had a good day today! Also glad to hear it's cooling off a little for you finally. We had an awesome storm in Denver this afternoon and it was 60 degrees when I left work...amazing!

I had a very good day, lots of exercise and not so hungry today in fact I need to have a good snack tonight to reach my calorie range, weird how one day you're so hungry , and then the next not so much....I never thought much about it till I read one of the posted blogs, and it asks if you let your body tell you when it's hungry or do you have set times.....

as you know I have set times.....I use to be hungry all the time and never seemed to have that voice that said you have had enough...they say it takes 20 minutes for your brain to get the signal but it takes my brain at least an hour.....

but now I have that voice that tell me ...things like your not really hungry, or hold on here Bessey you have had
so I'm going to do some heavy duty thinking and maybe just maybe start in Sept. and let my tummy tell me when to eat and how much, as long as it's healthy...if I seem to eat to much then go back to my 6-7 meals a day....

I have to really do some planning and thinking...I might get that book they talked about intuitive eating, ( I think that was it)

any way the dark clouds are rolling in and I hear thunder so I better sign off and get this shut down, before it really gets nasty

    You bet Leah is beautiful, how old is dogs!!!

I need to be on a schedule w/meals and snacks otherwise I could eat all day long. The trick and it is a major one is learning how to tell mouth hunger from physical hunger.

It is worth trying it out and seeing what happens

    The "full" signal usually works for me, but not the actually telling me when I'm hungry signal. I could eat every 1/2 hour, I think. I hope it works for you. That would be great.

    I'm like you, Kitt -- somedays I can barely get to my mininum calories, and other days, I'm struggling to stay under the max because I'm more hungry. I tend to follow a flexible schedule during the week (breakfast after morning exercise, lunch around 11:30 a.m., afternoon snacks when I feel like them and depending on whether I'm swimming or not, and dinner when I get home, whenever that is). On the weekends I tend to eat when I'm hungry, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how hungry I am.

Leah is a beautiful girl, too. And she's lucky to have you as a mom!

It was a good day, I still had the desire to eat more than I really need but it went pretty good. I walked on the treadmill when the urge got to A good exercise day.....

A funny thing happen to me on my Wal mart trip.
I wore my Sparkpeople T-shirt that says ..."You Know You're a Sparkperson When " then on the back are a list of things, I had several people ask me about it...

One gentleman about my age asked me what it was and if I was still a sparkperson....
I said yes and then had to tell him I had lost over 200 pounds....he seemed really surprised and said " So Ms. SparkPerson what is the best thing about loosing 200+ pounds.....I quickly answered I'm healthier now..... he smiled and said "you have made my day young lady" "please enjoy your healthy new life"..

That question has been creeping in to my thoughts all day....I had to finally decide that there are many many things about loosing 200+ pounds....not just being healthy..

I can walk as far as I want with out getting winded. Heck I can run....

I can buy clothes at any store I want .....

I can hike and bike and swim and I have freedom to do what ever I want and not have pain....

I have more confidence . more energy
sleep better
look better
feel better..
I could go on and on...
best part for me is I can now keep up with Gary, he says I am faster than him now and he is so proud of me.....
My family is so proud of me , and they don't have to worry so much about me having a heart attack

I don't have to worry about falling and not being able to get up...

I don't have to worry if I'll fit in the chair. or will the bathroom stall be big enough...

I can help other people reach there goals by talking about my struggles, and my victories..

I have lots more to be thankful for....I would not be here if not for SparkPeople....and all my supportive friends


Have a healthy week....learn to love your self no matter what the scale says

    Kitt, I have lost 100 pounds and hope to one day be able to say that I have lost 200 pounds. That is why I look up to you, you have done it. I still think you should go on Dr. Phil or Oprah. Your story is so inpirational! I like that "learn to love yourself no matter what the scale says!" Take care! :)

    Kitt, your success list sounds like what I have so far, and I can vouch for all of those things! It's cool that gentleman asked you the question, because it was good for you to once again reflect on how far you've come and what a monumental achievement this is! All of us need to be reminded of this from time to time. You just had your reminder dose!

We had a rain storm yesterday so I turned the computer off and never returned till this morning.
I seem to have so much to do on the week ends that it' hard to get here to post...

Today has been an okay day, I feel a bit more hungry than usual, seem to have these days everyone once in a while, trying hard to tell myself , it's not food you want....not sure what it is but I am sticking to my food's 3.40 pm dinner won't be ready till 5.30 or 6 . Gary is grilling pork chops and pineapple, 2 of my favorites but I'm wanting to snack or so forage threw the cupboards so I decided to blog, hoping that it will get me over the rough spot...
I am also doing laundry , maybe I should go take a short nap, I'm a bit tired, not sure why I slept good last night in fact slept till near 6am which is late for me.. the heat is really getting me down....I'm drinking extra water but we have had near 100 degrees for a month, and we have 1 more to should start to cool down in Sept. at least I hope....

so Off I go to nap for about 15 minutes that might take my mind off food..

hope you had a good I had a cat nap today was just worn out ... it is not as hot here now but my walk did wear me out...

    I think the heat tires us out. It cooled down here a bit this week (supposed to get hot again, sigh) and I had so much more energy. It's probably our natural metabolic reaction.

I have days when I can't seem to eat enough and others where I barely feel like eating--I've noticed this much more since it got hot. At the moment, I'm also keeping track of my week intake, and I've noticed if I have an 'over' day on my suggested intake, I often have a natural 'under' day in the next day or two. So the caloric intake for the week is still enough to keep me losing about 1.5 pounds on average per week when averaged over the month.

Sorry--I sometimes take comfort in the numbers to stop my brain from getting negative.

    I am having the same problem with feeling more hungry some days, Kitt. Sometimes I have a healthy snack and sometimes I just muddle through it and ignore it. Hang in there...keeping busy might help.

I'm with you on the heat. Denver hasn't had it so bad, but I'm ready for having highs in the 70s. That's still warm but not so miserable when trying to do outdoor activities.

Hope the rest of your weekend goes well and that you get caught up on rest and any chores you want to do. You are doing great with your new lifestyle and you inspire me to keep going. Thanks for all the support and for just being you!

    Its hot here too! I bet it is hot all across the country and I don't expect to get any relief until late october or November (maybe) since I live in South Florida.
Whenever I am having a hard time with food, I write something. I have a lot of poetry I've written and letters to myself as well :) Enjoy your Saturday emoticon
