I hope this blog makes some sense and isn't too full of errors, but I've not slept for very long so figured after 2 hours of tossing and turning I would just get online and be somewhat productive.
It was a crazy, busy day for me yesterday as it was the last day of super doubles at Harris Teeter (which I'm actually glad about since it's lot of work to get that done) and we had an event to go to in the afternoon at a friend's house. Of course I had tons of errands I had to run before getting home and so it was a mad rush to get home in time.
We got home back in the evening after me being gone most of the day and I was unable to get anything done to the house or things listed for sell but I will focus on that today if I can keep my eyes open and my brain functioning enough, LOL.
We had a great time at a friend's home and the kids played together and swam in the pool while we moms brainstormed about possible ideas for our group.
When I got home my husband told me that Honda had called and told him that we would only have to pay four hundred and some dollars (vs. the $1665 the dealership quoted) minus the almost $100 diagnostic test (to find out what was wrong with our air conditioner) we had already paid!!!
I am so happy and anxious to get it in the shop and fixed, but we have to wait on the parts to come in first. Of course that means that while I'm so excited and relieved, I'm worrying that I won't have transportation to get to commitments I have next week.
I suppose it would be worth the money if that happens to rent a car to make sure that I have a way to get somewhere. That is another reason why I would love to have 2 cars at my disposal but my husband wants to get this ac fixed and get rid of our Honda CRV.
I'm just relieved I don't have to sell a kidney (just kidding of course, we have money in the bank, but who wants to pay that much to fix an ac on a car?) to pay for it. My husband was a deep sleep when they called and since I wasn't at home he had to answer, so I hope he wasn't dreaming or misinterpreting what they quoted on the price, LOL.

Today is the last day of super doubles (where up to a $1.98 coupon is doubled) at Harris Teeter so it will be a last hurrah for awhile. It's a good thing because I always have plenty of food and toiletries stocked up after this week-long event and I only have so much room in my small house.
I'm so excited because our roofing supplies (tar paper, shingles, etc.) were delivered by Lowe's yesterday so that means that we should be getting our roof done in the near future. For those of you who don't know our situation, back in April we had a terrible storm that came through our area and caused a lot of damage to everyone's property.
We got hail the size of softballs so it put holes in our roof and caused other problems for others as well. Luckily we didn't get as much damage as other people did (holes in their siding, car windows knocked out) because of the angle of our house vs. theirs which was really weird.
Our car was under the carport so no damage to that as well, which was a good thing. Needless to say, we have waited quite a long time to get our roof done because there was so much damage all around this area and roofing companies have been swamped.
I'm excited too because I sold some more items yesterday and while I didn't make tons of money, I was very happy with what I got rid of and what I got. I spent a lot of time listing things for sale on another site and that's where I sold my biggest item at that has been just gathering dust.
I didn't get time to work on my attic due to my daughter's piano lessons, Harris Teeter shopping, listing items for sale and transferring pictures to the site, meeting people to sell to, etc.
I think it will have to wait until Wednesday as we are planning to go to a friend's house to discuss/plan our home school group activities for next month and of course I have more items to list for sale as well as the last hurrah with Harris Teeter.

I had a great bargain day yesterday. I got lots of goodies at Harris Teeter and my final price was $9!!! I got tons of stuff including orange juice, yogurt, diet Turkey Hill tea, hair gel, etc.
I went by two different places yesterday with our unwanted gold, a few coins, etc. that had been sitting around for decades gathering dust. Some of the jewelry was broken, some was outdated looking, etc. and because of limited time I only went to two places, a jewelry store (one that wasn't at a mall) and a pawn shop.
A few people had told me that I needed to sell at the pawn shop, but as I have never done that before, in my mind a pawn shop would not give you as much money. I went there first and they gave me a quote and I told them I had to talk it over with my husband (which I did on the phone).
I went to a jewelry store and they quoted a price $115 less than the pawn shop! I was so shocked and quickly went back to the pawn shop and sold our items for a nice sum of money. Again, these items were outdated, unwanted, and some were broken so I feel I got a great deal. I have been meaning to get this done for years but just never had the time and had so many other things that were more pressing of my time.
After depositing the money in the bank, I stopped by a thrift store in my area that I don't get to very often. I've been looking for something weird, a coffee mug tree for a very long time because I saw on You Tube that people were using them to store their necklaces/bracelets on. I looked through the books for any Harry Potter books for my daughter (they had one but she already had it) and went to the household section and spotted a nice mug tree for $1.50! I was so happy because it was in great condition and exactly what she needed to keep her jewelry from getting tangled up.
We have limited drawer space as well as just plain any regular space in our house so this was the perfect solution! It's sturdy so it won't fall over when she looks through her jewelry and it looks nice as well. I need to find another one for her bracelets and I'm sure with patience and time I will eventually.
When you purchase anything you can pick up any three magazines they have donated there for free and I picked up some Taste of Home mags as well as a Food Network magazine that was fairly recent. The great thing is, there were some coupons in that magazine that I can use today at Harris Teeter that will pay for the mug tree as well as go over what I paid for profit.
I finally got around as well to decluttering my son's closet and dresser drawers for the church consignment sale I have coming up very soon. His drawers and closet are in much better condition although my bedroom isn't since all the items I'm trying to sell are settling there since that's the only space available for storage.
