Hi SP Friends!
I've been away from my computer, in Nicaragua, working a lot, etc... But now I want to get back into my Spark People lifestyle!
SOmething about returning from Nicaragua always signals a new beginning for me. For some people it's Jan 1st--but for me it's the day after returning to the US, usually in early February..
I get reflective, think about the meaning of life, set new goals, etc. This year is no different. I see photos of myself and cringe (something about wearing scrubs, sweating, no makeup and hair either a frizzy mess or in a ponytail does something to one's self-esteem!)...
I discovered how to track my calories and fitness on my smartphone with the SP app!!! Yay!!! Techno-mom strikes again!!! I know--all of you out there have alreaddy been doing this for years, but it's a new discovery for me!! Hahaha!!
I've definitely put on a few lbs over the last few months, and I'm no longer in denial. I'm tracking my cals, trying to eat more moderate portions, and stepping up my workouts a bit.
Taking baby steps, but I will get there!!
I just recorded a video of me doing my (semi) original choreography for "Boom Boom Mama".
This one is a HUGE favorite in All of my classes--Curves, Spec Ed kids, sub classes for Zumba regular and Gold! For some reason, it seems to appeal to all ages! So, I decided to upload it here and share. This song never fails to get smiles!!
Seeing myself "in action" makes me feel 2 ways: "Ugh!! What a porker!!" --0r, my kinder gentler self says "Hmm, I could have a pretty nice figure if I could lose 10-15 lbs around my middle!" So--I'm deciding to take the second attitude--and hope you all will, too!! Thanks!!
