This was a better week for me, I got into the gym more and sweated my butt off more. I put in 270 fitness minutes this wee, which is more than usual for me. But knowing that I needed to lose 5.8 lbs in 3 weeks to hit my 100 lb goal before leaving on vacation spurred me on to pushing myself. So I hit the stair master and the recumbent bike and let the sweat run. I got some strength training in as well, but could have and should have done more in that area. Oh well, there's always next week!
Anyway, so I had a good week gym wise. I also was pretty good with my eating, not perfect, but pretty good :) I'll never get it perfect, I like my java chip frappuccino too much. I'm sitting here trying to think of what else I did this week besides go to the gym and eat...
I did a little shopping for my trip. Got another pair of shorts and a cheap suit. My old sports coat was a size 54 and it's just too big now (too bad because it's a nice coat). So I needed a new coat to wear to dinner and went out to find one and figure out what size I need! I ended up getting a size 48 long. I fit into the 46 but it was a little too snug across the shoulders. The 48 had a little more room in the shoulders so it's the one that came home with me. But instead of getting a sports coat, I got a suit coat and matching pants. First suit in many years for me, so that was kind of fun.
But alas, I know you haven't read this far to hear about how dapper I look in my new suit... so we shall now get to the numbers.

Lost : 3.8
Total : 98
Hell yeah, 3.8 lbs down this week!! Broke out of the 220's and now I only need to lose 2 more to hit the magic 100 mark and I have 2 weeks to do it! It feels awesome to hit a big number this week, takes almost all of the pressure off of me from my self imposed deadline. I might even be able to hit the magic number next week and still have a week left. Feels good :)
It's time to go relax after having a nice big free day lunch with my son. Thinking about watching Casino Royale (again), the James Bond flick. Doggone good movie!

What a long week it's been. My dad, brother, son and I did build a fence at my grandmother's house this week. Of course that entailed loading my truck with all of the necessary tools needed for the job Tuesday morning, then unloading those same tools at the house half hour later. Tearing down of the old fence and loading all of the old wood into my truck for a trip to the dump.
Tuesday evening had me at the local lumber company loading my truck with all of the lumber needed to build a new fence. Wednesday had me unloading all of the lumber at the house. We dug post holes, stretched a line from one corner to the other and placed posts. Hung stringers, grass board and finally pickets. Total time was only about 8 hours, but my back and hamstrings were sure barking at me when it was all done.
I only got into the gym twice this week due to all of the other work I was doing so I didn't get much cardio done :(
Let's skip ahead to the numbers:

Lost : 1.2
Total : 94.2
I loss of 1.2 lbs isn't bad considering I didn't get to the gym as often as I like. But this still leaves me 5.8 lbs to lose in 3 weeks to hit the 100 lb loss mark before my trip. Need to average 2 lbs lost per week for three weeks! That was pretty easy when I was around 270, but now it's getting a lot harder to drop that much in a week! Oh well, I'm going to keep trying and see where I end up.
It's Saturday and I'm going to go get some pizza :)

What a week, huh? 100+ degrees almost everyday, hardly any breeze to make it a little more tolerable. A hell of a week to stay inside!
I didn't get to the gym but 3 times this week I think. I know, I know. Last week I said I was going to really hit the gym this week, but circumstances beyond my control took over. I had to go to my grandmother's house and go through the tool shed and see what needed to be thrown out and what should be given away (she's 91 years old and wants to get this stuff done before she takes her long nap). Well, my grandfather (who passed last November) had already gone through it apparently because there was only about 1/3 of the amount of stuff that I remember seeing in there a couple of years ago. Thanks Poppie!!
So with that done, my dad and I set about to other tasks there. The weeds had gotten out of hand outside her back fence in the alley and this is the time of year that the fire department comes around placing notices to remove fire hazards. So, we raked and shoveled an area about 5' wide by 100' long. Whew, it was hot and that sucked! I put ina couple of good hours sweating at her house. Next week my dad and I are going back over to replace half of one of the side fences that is rotted and falling down. (fence is original, from the early 50's, the pickets are 1.25" thick!). My great grandfather was a home builder in the area and my grandfather and a couple of his brothers built this house (and fences!) along with a bunch of other houses in the same area. All top notch materials were used.
So as you can see, I got some of my exercise this week doing heavy yard work and I will get some more next week building a fence, cutting back trees, breaking out concrete, etc.
I just realized, you didn't come here to read about me doing yard work or building fences. You just want to know how my weigh in went, don't you? Well , then, here ya go.

Yep, 2.4 lbs gone this week, hooray!. Plus, as an added bonus I'll throw this at ya; I went shopping today and got some shorts and a pair of casual pants that are size 38. I haven't worn a size 38 since about '95 so I was pretty jazzed about that. Plus, it's the first clothes I've bought since I started this journey. I was relying on mostly old clothes that I had outgrown and had been slowly getting back into. But I had nothing at 38 and only one pair of pants at 40. I also had no good shorts that fit, I only had elastic waist workout type shorts and those aren't cool when you're out on the town!
That's it for today. I need to go get ready for a BBQ at 4. Take it easy and have a great weekend!
