I'm Still Here

Thanks everyone for visiting. I have been away a while but never too far. As part of phase 3 of my plan I was asked by my coach to really reduce my computer time so have remained committed to that. Have been missing everyone badly.

But not too long before phase 3 is done and I can enjoy a little more time online. But I must admit I have been getting great results from applying the extra time to my health. Rest assured I have been working hard.

I look forward to posting my results for you all.

Phase 3 Approaching

I have been working to plan and it is getting closer to July 1st and phase 3, the setting phase. Setting into a fairly rigid program will be tough however, we have prepared for it for the last 6 months so not as hard as it would be if I was going in cold turkey I suppose.

Time management is difficult to adjust to as I have really had to cut back on a heap of activities to support my schedule like FB, SP, WoW and more, oh the pain of it all. But at least I am seeing and feeling the benefits of this.

Making sure to get on and check in with my SP friends at least a couple of time a week but sometimes lack the proper time to read all and throw up some comments so trying to keep my time online to a healthy limit.

Keep strong everyone and I am still here, never too far away. i enjoy your stories and visits. Love and respect to everyone, may god bless you all. Big hugs, Kia Kaha!

I Look Stupid!

So I gets up this morning and go to put on some jeans, my wife has a horrified look on her face and says: "OMGoodness you look stupid!" I tried to do up my belt and ran out of friggen holes! The jeans are so baggy and they look like I'm a kid trying to put on his dads jeans lol.

Kuatau says I have to go buy some new clothes but I am refusing since by the end of this year I will prolly look stupid in the clothes I buy today, which I'm not gonna coz I'm such a tight ***. New clothes can wait just a lil' while longer. Imma just keep wearing ma sweats err day till the end of the year after phase three. Then, totally shopping time!

I feel great, actually I feel really sore and creaky but great with it. Recently my niece questioned my diet and told me that I can't eat what I eat and lose weight. I told her she was wrong and to go do some study. That was two weeks ago when I was weighing in at 308lbs, now I am 292lbs and she's not saying much to me about it LoL! Anyway, I shouldn't be like that but man it feels good to prove something to the non-believers.

Anyway I'm off to hogs breath for lunch with my wife and our lil boys. Have a great day all. Yay me.

    Great job! You might want to stop by a thrift store and see if they have at least one interim pair of pants you would wear. I bought four pair of new pants because I could just pull my others over my hips without unzipping, but took two back because I plan on being in at least one size smaller in a month or so! And by the end of the year, one more size smaller!! Keep doing what you are doing, because it is working! Woohoo!!

  My sis bought cheap but real decent cloths at Craigslist, garage sales, and second hand stores that have good brands. It makes you feel better about yourself, than sweats. She has lost almost 100 lbs.

Absence Makes The Heart Weaker

Training for functionality requires my entire body to assist. Primarily my core both abdominals and back muscles. Training in absence of the stabilizers makes you weaker. What do I mean by this? Well, when you perform concentrated biceps curls you isolate the biceps without using the core to stabilize you. Great exercise though if you want pretty looking muscles, so have at it.

Also, assistance through substances such as anabolic steroids will increase the growth of muscle tissue but it leaves behind the stabilizers, the tendons and bones. You may have heard of people tearing a muscle. Often this is because the muscle has grown so fast that the tendons are left weak and therefore snap under the pressure of weightlifting in any form.

Tendons and bones respond and grow as necessary and by lifting heavy weight. There is very little chemical assistance for them. So remember these little guys when working out.

Often people with lower back pain will reason that they have a weak back and therefore perform more back exercises. This is the opposite of what you should do. Instead, it means that your back is doing too much work and trying to hold the fort up on it's own. The abdominals are what you need to work on. They are the other half of your foundation, your core. A house has walls and if one wall falls it puts pressure on the other walls to hold but eventually it will fall. Same with your core, if too much stress is being put on your back it need to work overtime to keep you from falling, as it were. So, strengthen the abs and your back pain will substantially decrease if not fade completely. Worked for me.

Exercises that encourage the body's full range of body motion require your stabilizers to hold you firm. Just try pilates out and they'll tell you the same. Some great exercises for functionality are dead lifts, squats, dips, pull ups, rows. Any variation of these exercises will be supported by your core and overall your body will become more functional.

Think about your stabilizers and bring them to the party when exercising and I promise you will grow stronger better. Kia kaha! Love and respect, Reuben.

    I'm with you!

I started lifting heavy about 2 years ago, focusing on the compound movement exercises like squats, deadlifts, overhead presses, etc.

I try to make every workout a core workout.....haven't had a sore back in years!

  Great info. Wish I could get my hubby to read this. His back is constantly getting injured and reinjured. I try to direct him (notice I don't say tell him... a big no-no) toward abd exercises to strengthen his core. He resists. I think I have mentioned that he is stubborn. Also you want to engage the abd muscles with most of lifting exercises done... really think about them as you do the motion.

Busy week past and on to the weekend. Time for a quick update.

Hectic week and unable to find time to get on. Heading off to the gym later, dead lifts again lol, I just love em.

Have a big day planned with my daughter tomoz and need to start preparing for it tonight by cleaning the entire house so we can settle in and get working on a project tomoz.

Planning on taking a break tomoz about lunch and taking the boys down to the park for a play and picnic. Hope to take my wife out to dinner tomoz night, perhaps down at crown, they got some good restaurants down there.

AHHH! Tax time soo so Sunday after church will be head in the books.
