Vacation from caring is over!

Wednesday, August 06, 2014

Two Octobers ago I decided to get serious about becoming healthy and lose excess weight, Started walking and exercising regularly and used my SP food calorie and exercise counter studiously! I dropped 67 pounds before aggravating a dormant sciatic nerve which threw me way out of whack with my routine! Worse than that it did something emotionally to me, suddenly I didn't care! It didn't take long for me to gain all my weight back. I am coming up to the 3 year anniversary of the best decision I could of made for my health, joining SP and JW's on the narrow path.

The goal weight I want to reach is 220 lbs by next September (2015) which will be my wife and I's 25th wedding anniversary, I can think of nothing better than achieving that goal for us.

For the past month I have had a respiratory illness Severe Bronchitis/Walking Pneumonia, the last 2 weeks I have been treated for Pneumonia! REALITY CHECK time! I have to do something about ME, if I do not want to be this miserable again!

The hardest part is starting so here I am at least starting to do what I did before and starting to become accountable for my health.

Vacation is over! Time to work!

Welcome to SparkPeople. We are all here for the same reason, no matter what our personal story is. We are here to help each other to get to that healthy point we want to be in our lives. It is not going to be easy, but it is attainable. I have found that changing things up is the way to start weight loss. Make small goals and they will lead to big successes. I was on SP almost 5 years before this journey became the life style change it needs to be to become permanent. There are many SP repeaters here, we're like a fraternity. But when we make up our mind to be real about this, we are home to do the impossible! Welcome and get active on this site. emoticon
