Another Monday

Is it Friday yet? I ask myself that question numerous times a day until Friday actually gets here. I have a great weekend, and then dread the whole next week.
I have been trying to not do this because I feel like I am wasting life away. I have been trying to do semi-fun things during the week too.

At least my fiance is off of work Thursday and Friday nights so I can actually see him for more than a few hours. It is tough when I have to sleep by myself in the apartment. Half of the time I sleep on the couch when he & my roomie are working overnights because I don't want to be alone. I do have my pup there & I am glad he likes to snuggle.

    I think it's really wonderful that you realize the importance of valuing every day. The suggestions the others have made are great, and I want to throw a few more ideas out there. Here are some examples of things I like to do that make me feel special and comforted:

- wrap myself in a soft blanket and read
- hug my favorite stuffed animal (yes, I still have some stuffed animals in my closet for times like these)
- watch one of my favorite comedy DVD's
- write out my feelings in my journal
- go for a walk
- take a bubble bath with lighted candles all around
- call a friend (side note: I was careful to write my friend's phone number right on the list so I didn't have to look it up)

Another item that would be on my list is to pet/play with my dog if I had one; I love dogs!!! It can really help to interact with your dog because it's clinically proven to produce endorphins and reduce blood pressure.

Something else that can give you excitement for each day is to set mini-goals for yourself. For instance, I set up goals on the SparkPeople "Other Goals" section, and I try to do them every day. It might sound silly, but it is actually very satisfying to click the little box and put the checkmark there when I have completed my goal for the day. One of my goals is to do some type of cardio every day for at least 30 minutes. I am currently on my longest streak--22 days--and today makes #23. Every day I wake up I'm thinking, "Great! Another day to extend my exercise streak!!" It's been really fun to see how long I can keep the streak going.

    Thanks for the ideas. I try to plan little things like a new meal or walk in a different area with the pup. I need to start working on the wedding crafts again. I just have a hard time because of my hand, but if I take it slow it should be ok emoticon

    Ugh! I hate sleeping alone too... I am usually in bed by the time my husband gets home and falling asleep without him is hard.

    Try to just focus on today. Can you try a new recipe for dinner? Do you walk? Can you walk farther or try a different route today? Being excited about today and things you can do today is important.......

Saturday morning I went to breakfast with my good friend who is also in my wedding party. After that, we met up with the other Bridesmaids and they tried on some bridal party gowns. They all agreed on one! I am so excited. =) That night, I had to go to a surprise 30th birthday party for my fiance's SIL. I really didn't know most of the people at the party except for his parents, so I talked to them for an hour & a half and then left. I started to soak the beans when I got home and left them overnight. Sunday morning I started cooking my healthy version of Thanksgiving dinner at 9am. Around 1, I sprained my ankle while walking the dog Ouch. I rolled it while walking down one of the outside steps. I kept walking on it because I still had so much to do with the dinner. It wasn't bothering me at the time because I wasn't thinking about it I guess. I stabbed my hand with the fork while stabbing potatoes, and it actually cut me this time. That is still hurting me. I burnt my finger on the range coil, and burnt my wrist in two spots from the crappy oven. Those hurt really bad today. I was cooking up until it was ready to eat at 6. I had a fun time with my pals & parents & his parents, but afterwards I was so tired. My foot was starting to bug me more and I accidentally fell asleep on the couch. I woke up at 5 am in so much pain. I broke a nail trying to find the light switch of the bathroom. Normally it doesn't bother me, but it caused my hangnail to bleed so that is sore and tender! When I finally got up and was getting ready for work, I was trying to be careful because of my sore foot. It really sucked walking the pup this morning because I was trying to go slow and he just kept pulling on the leash. I was late to work because I was trying to take my time. At least they don't care here, but I still hurt =( I am debating if I want to call my Dr or not. I feel like I have been living there lately. It sucks! I am so prone to getting hurt even though I am careful. I have an extra bone in my foot, and I used to sprain both ankles all the time when I was in High School. I thought I grew out of it! I can't imagine what it would be like if I DIDN'T try to be careful haha.

    Haha yea if my foot isn't feeling any better by tomorrow, I will call the Dr and see what he says. I am just trying to stay off of it for a little bit. I may ice it when I get home from work!
I try to stay positive even though I get hurt a lot!

    OMG - I can't believe all of those things happend in one weekend??? You probably shold go to the doctor.... bring a book. At least you managed to enjoy yourself, even with your broken bones & burns!!!

Did I lose the taste for meat & potatoes??

We had a nice dinner at my parent's house last night. I had a salad with tuna in it and some cooked carrots. She made everyone else London Broil and mashed potatoes. I tried some of the meat and potatoes... and I actually didn't like either one. I used to LOVE them! The meat tasted weird and the potatoes tasted really old or something haha. I have not had them in a long time, so I guess I just don't have the taste for it anymore? I even tried a french fry the other day and it wasn't even as good as they usually are! I have been craving tuna and salad haha. Also I have really been wanting another spinach and tomato egg white omelette! It is crazy to think I am liking the healthy food better! I even love sweet potatoes a lot more now than I used to.

    Me too!! I had a burger the other night for the first time in over a year. When I was don, I said, I didn't miss that at all. I used to order burgers all the time!! Now when I go out, I get fish.

I may be getting sick again, nooo

I had a sinus infection & both ears were infected in the beginning of the month. I normally get sick every Thanksgiving.. It seems like it is creeping around again. This time it is different from the sickness I just had. My throat is so sore, runny nose, and I am super tired. I fell asleep on top of the sheets last night in the clothes I wore all day. I just laid down for a minute and couldn't get back up! I do need more sleep though. I woke up at 5am all congested and had to clear everything from my throat!
Hopefully it clears up soon because I have to walk more. I finally went for a walk with the pup a couple of nights ago when it was really nice. I have so much going on this week & weekend, so I need to rest up!

    Slam some EmergenC... I'm pretty sure you can get it at any drug store. That stuff totally works, although it tastes kind of icky. Its worth it though to feel better!! I hope you start feeling better soon!

Just had a Busy weekend:Had our Pre-cana

We had our Pre-cana at the church on Saturday. I was nervous, and my fiance was worried because he had to work a double after that. We both had fun with all of the exercises and talking with each other. We wrote each other really nice love letters, and it made me cry! I get really sensitive sometimes, and it was a nice day. We were there from 8am-7pm, but at least it was only one day and we are one step closer to the wedding!

After, I got to see my two pals Sat night and also yesterday. I didn't get my curlers yet, but hopefully soon. I don't really feel like spending $40 on them right now, so maybe I will wait. I have to take the puppy to see a skin specialist tomorrow, and that is going to cost a lot of $$$ just to walk in the door. Ugh. At least we both get paid on Friday!
