More than a Number

I know healthy eating and working out reflects in other ways besides the scale. I just really wish I would see it more often there.

I should get a tape measure too. I know my pants and shirts fit better. I need to get a belt! But when I look on the scale, nothing has changed this week. I have been tracking correctly, eating enough veggies & fruits. Drank enough water. Even walked with the doggie.... I just hate when I feel like there is SOMETHING I did wrong, but I can't figure out what it is.

    yeah i know what you mean i have to avoid going on the scale all the time becuase of it. in a way i really hate scales.

I did get the digital one from Penneys 2 weeks ago. I guess I just want it all to go away faster and I know it takes a long time haha. I just get antsy for results sometimes just like with my planning!

    Sorry to hear that. maybe the scale is wrong. i like the digital ones because i know i can read the correct number. I do have a tape that you can alway come over to borrow. Also you could come over and use my scale and see if it still says the same as yours. we could have a fun day. you could also buy one i got mine for i think 3 dollars. i know it was not too bad. my scale was the big chunk of the cost but it is well worth it.

    Ohhh throw out that darn scale! My scale too refused to move and I thought it was me...then I started weighing myself consistently on the scale at the gym and that one kept moving down while my home scale stayed the same! If you are doing things right and feeling good...you will see that scale move. Don't give up!

I can't wait to go! We aren't going until the last weekend of October though =( Hopefully the weather isn't too crappy then. I guess I will have to wait & see! A lot of the girls wear the sexy corset outfits. Maybe next year I will look decent enough to wear one =)

    It is ok if you aren't exact. You just need to guess close to what you are eating. I will probably bring some of my own snacks too.

    I cant wait until we go. Still cant call out for it yet but i am hoping i can go. I really want to wear one of those outfits. I looked at them last time and it was too expensive. :( maybe one year.

Yay Rewards list is done!

Ok well almost done =) I created my rewards list, but I didn't have enough things to add to 70, 75, and 85 haha. For 90 lbs lost I put a tattoo! I added something for every 5 lbs I lose. I added things like... curlers, earrings, manicure, pedicure, rain boots, rain coat, for my 50 lbs lost I chose a new hair color. I normally just buy a box and do it myself, but I want to actually go into a salon and get it done professionally =)

Now I just need to go to the gym! At least my eating has been great so far.

Man, I am ready to go back to bed already. At least it is pay week, although it feels like a million years from now =)

I know some people like to reward themselves with treats when they do a great job with their weight loss. I don't see any problem with this, but I would rather have a different kind of self-reward system. Every 5 & 10 lbs I will reward myself with something. Normally I don't give myself anything. I like to give and give to my friends, fiance, and family because I love them and they deserve nice things! I never know what I want, and even if I want something, I would still rather give someone else something they want. I decided I am going to reward myself for losing weight! 20 lbs lost I will get a manicure, at 25 lbs lost a pedicure. Maybe around 40 lbs I will get my hair dyed. I am not sure what else I want to put on there, but I will work on it more tonight. My first real goal is to lose 50 lbs before the wedding so I will have to think of something extra special for that =) My ultimate goal is to lose 100 lbs, and I will get the tattoo I have been wanting WHEN I hit that! I think I need to start saving up some money for all of this too haha =)

    this sounds like a great reward system. I did not even think about what I would reward myself for losing weight. I guess since i did not lose anything yet it does not seem real. I would have to come up with ideas maybe this will help me to stay on track.

Thanks for the comments on the last blog. I didn't go over my calories! and I barely saw him anyways because he had so much work and school. I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, but at least I will be able to have it a bit easier for the menu options. I like packing my own foods! I make sure I keep tons of snacks there. My co-workers always joke that they will come to me to get snacks instead of eating their own food. I just really like the variety. I like having a choice of 10 things instead of just the one thing I packed the night before. I have been doing a good job with coupon cutting lately, so it really helps out with the costs of the 100 calorie snacks and grain bars. I have been looking at calories and other nutrition facts at the store before I buy the items too.
