I woke up in a great mood & I can't stop smiling!

I have been doing more for me lately. It is a bit stressful at times, because other people still expect the Old Routine. But I can't go back. I have to keep moving forward!

I woke up this morning, and I felt so good. When I was getting ready for work, I kept smiling and felt so giddy. I still feel really good! The songs on my Sirius radio were awesome & really made me smile more! Usually I only feel this way when I am REALLY excited about something. There isn't anything too crazy going on this weekend, so I am not sure why I am feeling this way. I think I just feel happier, healthier, and more motivated! I feel more flexible, and I do feel smaller. People scooch in their chairs to let me go by, but most of the time they don't even have to anymore! I like being able to fit through Small Spaces. =)

I did Zumba last night!!! and I am not as sore today. My hips hurt only when I first stand up from my office chair. I have yoga again next Monday. Four more yoga classes left. I may do some more 5K training tonight or tomorrow morning. I can't wait for my running belt to get here!

I also realized this morning, I like looking & commenting at other random Spark blogs. I see some people have 0 comments, and I know they need support too! I love this site. Whenever I am feeling down, I come on here and see all of the hard work everyone is doing. I see the successes and "failures" of everyone. We all have our good days and bad days. Thank you for the support over the past year! It really does make a difference. We all can reach our goals in time as long as we do it in our own way! I wish I could tell everyone about it. I do tell some people who ask me about my weight. They all say "Oh I will look into that site, I really want to lose weight too". Then I know most won't stick with it. =( I wish people would understand that their body is their life! A healthier lifestyle may be hard to start up, but it is definitely worth it in one way or another!

Keep sparking this weekend! Don't give up!

    Isn't that an awesome way to start your day! I know what you mean about other people writing blogs & no body reading them. As a team leader on several teams I do have the opportunity to catch them easier, especially the newer people. Without our support at the beginning they fade away. Have a great day!

    I love those days where you wake up and everything feels wonderful!

I usually get that feeling in the fall when the awful Texas heat finally lets up :/ I used to call the 2 weeks of perfect weather "margarita season," since I just wanted to sit out on an outdoor restaurant patio and drink margaritas. I'll have to come up with something healthier this year!

I started my 5K training yesterday & zumba tonight!!

My Mini-Goal for September is to lose 3 pounds. If that happens, I will be down to 172 and I will be at 78 pounds lost! I really hope I can get there.

I started my 5K training yesterday. I was going to do the Jeff Galloway training, but then I saw the Spark 5K program. I am going to do that one instead. I get weekly reminders and it is very easy to track! It was nice getting some jogging in. After the second jog, I got a pain in my right side. I stuck with it and got the other two minute jogs in as well. I printed out a sheet where I can write in the date of the day I did the training. I can also write in when I did yoga, zumba & other walks! I wrote down what intervals I am supposed to do that week to remind me!

I am excited about Zumba tonight. It really pumps me up just thinking about going!! I am glad I am finally getting more exercise in. I have been saying it for years & now I am actually doing it. The more I do, the more I look forward to it!

I keep getting pains in my sides when I jog. Usually I just stretch for a few seconds and they go away.

I emptied my closet of all 1X & most XL clothes! Woohoo!

I know I mentioned a few days ago I should get some new clothes. I got a few new work shirts for the fall/winter, but I didn't get any new dress pants yet. Last night, I went through my closet and tried on a lot of my older clothes size 1X & XL. I took the 2X & 3X clothes and put them in two trash bags. I am going to take them to Goodwill. I am going to keep the XL clothes just in case I need them later on. I have a big open space with empty hangers in my closet now. I also packed away two drawers worth of size 18 and some 16 pants. Next month I will put a lot of my sleeveless shirts away, and my closet will have even more space!

The picture of me with the droid shirt has a funny story about it. Two years ago, my roommate signed up for his verizon plan and got a size Large shirt. He is 5'10 and weighs 112 pounds. The shirt was way too big for him so he said I could have it. It was way to small for me - I weighed 250 at the time. I told him my goal would be to fit into that shirt. I didn't even start Spark until a year later. When I saw the shirt last night while going through everything, I wondered if it fits - and it does! Now I have a nice long sleeved shirt for outside during my fall workouts.

I went to TJMaxx for the first time in years yesterday during my lunch hour. They had so much there. Some of the clothes seemed expensive - I guess because they are popular brands. Other clothes were pretty cheap. I got a nice sweatshirt for $7 and two nice dressy 3/4 sleeve shirts for work.

There has been a lot of rain here the past few days. I kept getting flood alerts on my phone yesterday. I was going to go for a walk, but the rain kept me inside. I thought about using my Mom's treadmill, but my parents were watching a movie in that room. I didn't want to bug them. So instead, I didn't have a snack last night. I know that isn't the same thing, but at least I was looking out for myself a little bit.

Why my Life is Wonderful Reason #125

My manager said I could walk to the bank today. It is gorgeous outside! I saw a fuzzy walking on the sidewalk so I moved him to the grass. It is a great day to be alive. Every day is!

I think we are getting out of work early today too! I am hoping I can get my X-ray done for my thumb/wrist after. The facility I have to go to is only open M-F 8-4 and I work M-F 830-530! So hopefully I can squeeze it in today and be done with it. Otherwise I will have to work through lunch a couple of days and go into work late or leave early one day.

I am still excited about kayaking tomorrow. Hopefully I don't fall in the water. I am not scared of the water, I just am worried I won't be able to get back into the kayak!

The other day I ordered a running belt from the internet. It has two water bottles and a pouch. I am hoping that motivates me to start my 5K training program. I should start getting up earlier to do it. That means I have to start going to bed earlier. I know I can do it- I just have to do it! Also, I am thinking about getting a cheap Timex or other digital watch to help with the timing. When I was younger I used to always wear a Shark watch! Man, I miss those =)

My first crockpot meal! and this weekend will have lots of exercise

I took a Spark recipe & altered it a little bit. I added some zucchini & yellow squash. I also added red pepper flake & a jalapeņo! I used red kidney beans with low sodium instead of the ones listed. I prepped everything the night before. The meal cooked for 7 hours & I shredded the chicken when it was done & served it over some brown rice.

24 oz boneless, skinless chicken breast
1 yellow bell pepper, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 (16 oz) can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1 (14.5 oz ) can petite diced tomatoes with basil and oregano or any style of canned tomatoes
1 dash salt
1 dash black pepper
2 t dried basil
1 t dried thyme




I want to make sure I don't slack off this weekend. I will be fine with the food, I just want to get in more exercise! I am going kayaking on Saturday - That will definitely be tough on my arms. and I hope I don't fall in! I want to get some more walking/running in. I went for a 30 min walk yesterday. No jogging yet. I did see a huge froggie at this little pond though!

    looks good. If you want to cut down on the sodium more, the kind of tomatoes you used also come in no salt
