Hello again! Remember when I said I gained about 2kg during Easter? Well, it turns out that I didn't gain as much as I thought! emoticon I have only gained 1kg! So, hopefully by Tuesday next week I will be back down 46.5kg and Tuesday the week after I will be back down to 46kg again! emoticon emoticon I will let you know how it goes! emoticon

Things didn't go according to plan!!

Hello again!!

Things didn't exactly go according to plan last night. It turns out I was too much of a good girl! I didn't have ANY Tiramisu!! I had the chicken (which was FFFAAAAANNNTTTTAAAASSSSTTTIIICCC!!!!!! emoticon emoticon seriously, SparkPeople really should have designed a 'drool' emote!!!) and it was so filling that I was completely STUFFED afterwards!! emoticon I was so full, that all I had for dessert was a small cappuccino and a tablespoon's worth of someone else's cheesecake and chocolate tart!! I didn't even bother ordering a 'skinny' cappuccino! Even with the unplanned-bread (we always order bread, I don't know how I forgot about that!), some extra pear salad (which was also FANTASTIC) and two chocolates-I was still more than 110 calories under my range! When I got home I considered having an apple, but I was way too stuffed!! emoticon A similar thing happened the day before when I ate the steak! I guessed that it weighed 200g coz I wasn't able to weigh it on the night and I was also stuffed. Today when I weighed a left over piece that was the same size, it actually weighed only 100g!!! I under ate by almost 170 calories!! I went to the gym on both of those days, too!! emoticon Oopps!!!! emoticon Now I'm wondering if I should have an extra 170 calories today even though I'm not exercising. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Ain't it great that we can actually EAT & enjoy ourselves out....& STILL be in calorie range! Woohoo! Rejoicing! You've encompassed a healthy lifestyle now....eating anything you want in moderation & exercising! What a life we lead, huh! Woohoo!

Hi everyone!

This was a bad Easter this year and I gained a bit of weight (about 2 kilos, I think), so it's back to weight loss mode for a few weeks. I had a barbecue last night, too. I had 1 very small steak (with the fat cut off, of course!), 1 sausage, 2 chicken wings, a 50g potato and some salad. My stomach was hurting afterwards! All of this was planned for, though and I stayed within my calorie range. I ate just 1519 calories yesterday. The sausage always causes fluid retention with me, so I will weigh myself next Tuesday and will record whatever weight I have gained over Easter. I'm going out tonight at Maldini's, too and I am going to be a good girl no matter what happens!!! I have already planned my meals-I am either going to have the 'Crispy skinned Atlantic salmon on smashed créme fraîche pinkeyes with a tomato, green olive & lemon salsa'-about 580 calories (I had to do the calculating myself) depending on how much créme fraîche they give me, or the 'Pan-roasted chicken breast stuffed with semi-dried tomatoes, ricotta & baby spinach on a roasted pumpkin & rocket salad with balsamic glaze' (about 470 calories). I planned for Tiramisu as well. If I have the salmon, I will have half (around 250 calories) of the tiramisu, or if I have the chicken, I planned for 3/4 (around 383 calories). I want the fish, because I hardly ever eat fish and I need the Omega 3's, but I am also worried about the calories in the créme fraîche and the potatoes. But no matter what I decide, I will be a good girl and I won't go over my calorie range!

OMG!!!

OMG!!!! emoticon I have finally managed to shift that half a kilo and now I have reached my goal weight!! emoticon And I weighed myself after breakfast! I had a large steak last night too! So, when I weighed myself this morning, I also weighed my oats, tea, cupcake (a planned for treat), an apple AND last night’s steak with potatoes and butter covered corn-on-the-cob!! I thought I would have put on half a kilo overnight just because of that one piece steak! It was HUGE! I'm very surprised!! emoticon I can't believe that after all this time I have finally managed it! It was a long road full of ups (in weight as well) and downs, but I got there in the end!! emoticon emoticon

Now for the next phase.....

I will try to maintain a slight calorie differential for a week or so and slowly build up my food intake to let my body get used to eating more. I will have the occasional planned treat, but I will try not eat too much bad foods. This will be a bit difficult this week because of Easter, but when it's over I will have little trouble sticking to a healthy diet. I will eat more lean red meat, nuts, eggs, fish and healthy oils. I will also try to cook from recipe books!! There are a lot of recipes I want to try! I have just been making my own random stuff. My dad has collected a lot of mini cook books from the Australian Women's Weekly (They are sold separately, if you think my dad is a girly man!! emoticon ). My fav is the Healthy Eating-Chicken! I LOVE chicken! I'm going to get some more from the newsagents, too! I saw a Japanese cooking one, which I want to try! Most of them have the nutritional information with the recipes. Some don't, but it’s no trouble using the recipe calculator. I have also cut back on exercise by half a couple of weeks ago, so I won't need to stuff myself to make sure I'm eating enough. I was exercising way too much and It was affecting my health! So no over exercising for me, either. emoticon Doctor’s orders!! emoticon

Oh, and I won’t be eating steak every night!! emoticon
