“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”
Okay, so I always thought this quote was by the German poet Goethe, but, according to about.com, it's not. It's by a guy named William Hutchinson Murray (1913-1996), from his 1951 book entitled The Scottish Himalayan Expedition.
Whatever, it's a quote that has always inspired me without overwhelming me. Basically, it says, if you take the first step towards your dream, and plod steadily forward, the unvierse will follow, or ... help.
So, yesterday was the first step towards mine, and today starts the second.
Begin your dreams.

- Arabian proverb
Spreading goodwill that can return to you
This quote can be read in a few ways, and all of them are worth thinking about. First, complimenting and encouraging others is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to be a positive force in someone's life. As long as you're sincere, repeating that encouragement as often as possible can have effects that far outweigh the effort. Countless people have exceeded their own expectations just because others believed in them. Second, giving positive feedback works even better if done publicly. Take those kind words and repeat them until everyone knows the great things that this person is doing. Third, we've all had kindnesses bestowed on us in word and deed. In return for that favor, it's up to us to repeat that generosity for someone else's benefit. However you read this quote, the point is that there's a kindness out there to be performed. And you're just the person to do it!
This has never been a problem with me. I love to verbalize other people's accomplishments. But, let me tell you, if I give you a compliment, it is deserved.

I gave up on the Sparkpeople 30 day - I left town twice during that time, and just couldn't keep up.
The EA Sports active game is AWESOME!! Really nice toning game, although it doesn't burn as many calories as Gold's Gym Cardio Boxing - so I do the EA for toning, and then I pop in the Gold's Gym CD. Takes a little more time, but I get my 500 calorie burn goal in less than 90 mins.
I figure this extra 20 minutes is the time I would take to drive to the gym though, so it's all good.

Started the 30 day challenge two days ago - today is a rest day.
It's really great! I was really sore after the first day, WOW! I've been using the other games on the Wii since December, and had kind of lost the soreness, but this re-established it. I really like it because it does all the toning exericses that I dont get on Wii Sports and Gold's Cardio boxing.
It does not, however burn the kcals off like Gold's Gym does, so what I do is do the EA Sports workout, and then pop in the Gold's gym CD and do 20 mins or so of cardio boxing. Takes a little more time, but I get the calorie burn that I wanted.
