My Dream Vacation at Goal Weight

Thursday, October 28, 2010

I would have to say to take my son do Disney World (is that the one in FL, always get those confused)... I want to be able to walk around the park and go on any ride that he wants me to without any problems. He is only 4, so we have a few more years to save and for me to get this journey going in the right direction.

Gail that is a perfect goal for you. I have always said that when I get to my goal weight I will go on a cruise. As I live in FL I have been to Disney World. Let me know when you get to come and if I am still in FL we will get together.

My dream vacation would probably put weight back on me, lol. Great to have a fun goal to work towards, as well as a little time to get it done. emoticon

Keeping up to a 4 year old at any weight is a mighty achievement! My dream vacation is Disney World also. Maybe we can meet there in the virtual world until it becomes a reality!!

I just saw Mickey... hurry, let's catch him!!

Having a goal like that or something to help motivate you in addition to just losing weight and being healthy helps I think. I have a few things myself I am looking forward to. Keep it up and just keep that goal in front of you!!

Preparing for Halloween

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

We take our 4 year old out trick or treating only around one neighborhood so he doesn't get much candy. I throw/give away the ones he doesn't eat and the ones that he likes, goes up on top of the hutch so they are out of site, out of mind so to speak and he only gets one or 2 a day... We do not buy any candy to hand out as we are not home.

We go to the local YMCA. They hand out candy and a small prize. My daughter only chooses the prize and never the candy! Fine with me. Any candy given to her at school or by family usually sits in a container and I dump out within a month. She usually forgets she has candy or just ignores it...wish I could be like that! emoticon

That reminds me, I need to find out if there are any children in the park. If not, no candy in our house! If so, a small bag of something I won't eat, or something healthy or non-food related for the kiddos.

That is a pretty good idea. My kids are older and enjoy handing out candy more than trick-or-treating. Last year I bought stuff that I wouldn't eat (taffy, hard candy, lollipops, gum) and a few plastic toys. This way I didn't sit and eat a bag of chocolate while we handed it out. My plan this year is a good scary movie, popcorn, and no chocolate in the house.

5 Things that Motivate ME

Wednesday, October 06, 2010

My 4 year old son - I want to be able to keep up with him and be able to watch him grow up to have a family of his own someday.

I want to be able to shop in the Normal Size department at any clothing store.

I want to be able to stop taking the daily medications that I am on for my Diabetes and Cholesterol.

I want to be able to fit behind the steering wheel of any car and have the seat belt fasten.

I want to feel comfortable in my own skin...

BL Challenge, Week #3

Thursday, February 04, 2010

Well, we just completed week #3 of our BLC #11. I was up a few pounds last week, but that will stop now. I started to lose my motivation, but I know I have it in me to get it back. I got up off the couch tonight and popped in my new EA Sports Active, More Workouts and did the 30 minute Step Aerobics workout (slow). It kicked my butt, kept my heart rate up and I was sweating like a pig. I just have to get my eating back under control. I need to do this and get this challenge working for me again. I have no problem with my water, I get in my 8 glasses a day, sometimes more. I just need to get my head back in the swing of things again and dust myself off and start anew... As long as we keep going, we will succeed.

    Gail,
Great job on getting moving. You will have a great week this week! When getting your food, just think if it's a good choice or a bad one.

Hope this helps.

HI Gail, I know what you're going through. I feel that way at times too, but I put that mental figure in my mind of how I would like to look when I lose this weight and for some reason that keeps me going. Maybe if you think of something special that you want It might jump start you. Hope this helps.

This is part of my challenge for today, so here goes. I do have to say that I am making progress since the December Mini Challenge... I received a Wii for Christmas and then I got the EA Sports Active and am just lovin it... I am actually exercising most nights and getting in at least 64 oz of water daily. I am also staying within my calorie range and keepin my carbs down too... I am really looking forward to moving closer to my goals that are listed on my Spark page...
