I've opened my arms to Fall.
I'm going to see all the positive of the season, so I've changed my background to reflect that this is not the loss of summer - rather the harvest. Zucchini, tomatoes, onions, carrots, egg plant, squash, peppers. This is the season of a steaming cup of vegetable broth after the crisp trail walk. This is the season to use the indoor days to explore hot yoga and dance classes. This is the time to use weights.
My scale is my irritating feedback system that jumps back up after teasing me the day before with good results. However, trusty tape measure shows two INCHES off the waist. My logical side knew this as I got into a pair of pants that didn't fit before and my normal jeans required a belt in order to not drag on the ground. Inside I know the secret that my weight is higher because I just drank a very full (32 oz) glass of water to help me during my walk.
I normally think of Fall as the dreaded time of getting ready to scrape ice, shorter days, and laziness. I've started getting ready by filling my cupboards with healthy can soups (Safeway Select and Amy's), filling the freezer with healthy vegetables and making a plan to keep moving just a little bit when I can. Five minutes here and there really add up.
My hopes your direction that you can find the warmth in this season that allows you to grow in heart and muscle!!!
