My Motivators...

Friday, July 30, 2010

Yes - you are always meant to say the right things when you think about what motivates you - your family; your children; etc etc, but the truth is far less noble half the time. Its for me! Its so I can fit into that really nice dress I've been looking at in the shop; or look stunning at the christmas party. That's what motivates me - maybe shallow but I have finally been truthful to myself and now I am way more focused.
Yes, I want to set an example for my kids and family - but that is really the long term motivator - right now, I will focus on the shallow ones to get me back into the habit!!!

I wouldn't say that focusing on yourself for your own sake is shallow or wrong. You are clearly motivating yourself for the right reasons. Having good self-esteem and a good self-worth is very important. If you don't feel good about yourself, you really can't feel good about others. I've learned this to be true over the course of my own life.

Terrible week!

Saturday, May 01, 2010

So ends the terrible week - no excerise WHAT SO EVER! Comfort food most of the week and a horrible cold to end the week.
The only good news is that it can only get better!

Please donate to Haiti!

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Today my blog will be about others - who through no fault of theirs are now homeless, without food, water or shelter. My heart goes out to them - I am not Haitian and have never been - but I truly empathize with the parents looking for their children and the families not sure what has happened to love ones.
Please donate if you can (never think any amount is too small). Some charities you can link to:
www.dec.org.uk
www.msf.org
www.redcross.org.uk (or just .org)
www.savethechildren.org
www.muslimaid.org
www.christianaid.org
www.islamic-relief.or.uk
www.cafod.org.uk

There are host of others - but please check that they are official charities and linked (in the UK) to the Fundraising standards (similar regulations should exist in the US).

PLEASE HELP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!!

One of our charities of choice at my house is the salvation army. I understand they are providing food/water right now.

Help those in Haiti...text "HAITI" to 52000 to donate $10 to The Salvation Army. Please Re-post!

Everything in moderation...

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Today as I drove home all I could think about was having some fried chicken and chips. Just wouldn't budge.
I played some music, listened to the news, thought of positive things - any thing! But it didn't work. So decided to give in to my craving - have what I want and move on! I even did 50 mins on the cross trainer afterwards.
Although I know I've gone over my calorie allowance, I also know I want do so again for a while. I guess as long I am open and honest to myself I want feel I have failed. I have fed by craving and now I will move on.
Tomorrow IA is another day!

Not a bad day after all...

Monday, January 11, 2010

Day started off not great. First proper day back after the snow, and I was sooo not prepared! Couldn't find the kids gloves and wellies and was all over the place. Ended up leaving the house 10 mins late. Huge mistake! Stuck in traffic for over 50 mins and was still had a 45 min drive ahead!

Turned back and worked from home - things then started getting better! Had time to focus and get the work done properly plus I was able to use my break for a work out (30 day Shred) and finally ended the day with a swim!

All is now right with the world!

Sounds like you made a smart choice concerning the working from home decision! and a nice workout followed by a swim is a great way to feel healthy and energized.
May you reach your goals!!
