OK, for the first time ever I used a caliper. I had DH perform the task of pinching an inch (x9) and my BF% is ......................


You don't know how happy I am since my scale says something entirely different. I think the caliper is more accurate than that digital scale w/ the electric current and all that.

This means out of my 147.6 lbs, 41.58 lbs is fat while 106.02 lbs is lean body mass.

Yada, yada, yada.

Took my measurements and just like my weight has gone up, so has my inches. (136.375 inches measuring 5 areas)

But check this out... I thought TOM was arriving next week... well, surprise, surprise... it came TODAY! That's good... that's the reason why I've been gaining emoticon. Maybe next week will be better on the scale after all. I was going to take two Fridays off... but maybe just this one will do! Woohoo!

Anyway, I'm in pain. Hope you all have a great weekend. Thanks for checking up on me!

    Maybe I need to get a caliper because the more weight I lose, the higher my BF% is according to my scale. Unfortunately I don't have anyone to pinch for me. LOL

Well, it's healing. Thank the Lord. I'm praying the scars will go away. Not that anyone sees my legs... but I do! Such a difference between the left and the right. Ick.

More good news, I'm down 1.8 lbs. Taking me to 144.4 lbs. Yay!

I hope I lose more weight before TOM shows up. Grrr.

    Yes, some antibiotic cream would be good - it will do two things, help it heal, prevent infection ...oh 3 things actually, the cream can also help prevent bad scars. If it heals up completely & there's still a scar, I've heard that the Vit E oil in Vit E caplets is good for scars.

It looks much better than in the other photo!

I am sorry to hear about the spider bite. These can be so terrible and devastating. It is good to read of your recovery.

I despise getting sick. But I can feel my body is trying to and my immune system is trying its best to fight that sickness off.

Last week's campmeeting was exhausting both mentally and physically. There were late nights and early mornings. I ate well, but late nights will suppress your immune system regardless. Then, the first day of the campmeeting (Wednesday) I got bit by something (didn't notice until Thursday). Some believe that it was a spider that bit me (arrow shows where I got bit). I mean, it wasn't itchy until Friday and it looked like a tiny red triangle w/ hardly any swelling, but then Saturday morning it was bruised. I was like, "Huh?"

So Saturday evening we applied a bentonite clay poultice. When I got home, I showered and DH applied a charcoal poultice. I was told to drink some charcoal, but didn't want to, so I didn't. I walked around with that same charcoal poultice all day. Sunday night after I showered, having to scrub off the charcoal as it was caked on, I was swollen over 2 inches in diameter. Now I was really like, "Huh?" So now I had to make my own poultice, charcoal and flax seed.

Monday I took the above picture. The swelling went down and I sprayed it with tea tree oil. I should have done that the night before, but the flax still helped it not to stick so hard to my skin. I didn't want to have to scrub it off like I did Sunday night before applying my charcoal flax combo. ; ) So all day Monday I had nothing on it except the tea tree oil. Then after my walk, I took a shower and sprayed tea tree oil, then added my charcoal flax mixture to it. I ran out to do some errands and when I got in, what do you think I did? I'll tell you, I drank me some charcoal water! Shoulda done it Saturday night when I was told to! Grrrr.

OH, what a difference!!!! Adding that tea tree oil before applying the charcoal flax mixture made taking off the poultice this morning a breeze! And wow, swelling was really down, just still a little red. I can handle the redness. : )

But I'm thinking that between the late nights and early mornings last week w/ this bite just brought my immune system to an all time low. No one around here is sick. I'm the only one sneezing and having an almost sore throat. So I'm hoping to boost my immune system with holding back on the strenuous exercise and just doing my vigorous walking, and adding that to a really good night's rest and eating nothing but fruit tomorrow, and taking a green drink. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I just don't want to be sick! Like sick sick! YUCK!

    I have arachnaphobia (fear of spiders) because my stepfather was biten by a spider on his leg and he had a bad, bad, reaction. To this day he walks with a limp for what it did to his leg. I cannot even imagine! Saturday we went to a free movie in the park and I got bitten by mosquitos and boy oh boy did I react badly. I have 23 bites (at least, only counted the big itchy ones), all large red swollen bumps (kinda like yours), and it's Thursday and they are still here. My kids were there too and they have none. I'm glad though. I wouldn't want them to have to suffer what I have been.

    Rest. Rest. And Rest some more. Always listen to your body even when you don't want to!! It'll work wonders. A good night's sleep sounds like that's in order too. Okay, so I'm not a doctor or anything, but just some of my own personal observations!!!

    Definately looks like a spider wondering if your sick symptoms are maybe an allergic reaction to the bite..a mild one but just the same...I am thinking yeah...if you don't have a fever...the spot where you are bit seems improved...I agree rest should do the trick...but I will definately pray too. Fell better soon! emoticon

Getting Back to "Normal"

Above: Breakfast Banana Split that I made for DD. Oatmeal had raisins and coconut in it, seasoned w/ Vanilla and some turbinado sugar. Scooped it unto a split banana. Sprinkled grounded flax and sesame seeds over it. Then poured a peanut butter sauce over that. Then I had to throw on some pumpkin and sunflower seeds and top it with a strawberry and 3 blueberries. PRETTY.

I just had leftovers this morning. LOL I don't like food to go to waste especially if I pay for a meal. So I ate DD's leftovers from Friday.

My WI on Friday showed that I gained 1.4 lbs. I'm not worried though, I changed how I do my WIs and I knew it would show on the scale. I have to remember that a scale is used to measure the difference and it's not the numbers that should bug me. So I'm starting at 146 from last WI and hoping to be 145 or less by next Friday.

The song went well yesterday.

Campmeeting ends today. So now things are "getting back to 'normal.'" Didn't get my goal for doing BW 5/week. That's why doing all RAW last week was so important. I didn't want to gain a whole lot and I don't think I really gained anything at all. As I said, the number changed more so because of how I'm doing my WIs.

Hope you all are ready for August. It's the last weeks of summer. Let's make use of the weather and work it!

Yeah, it sounds crazy, but I mean it. I'm going to do my own thing until Sept 2nd.

Now I'm not going to participate in posting on team challenges... but that doesn't mean I won't be creating them for my teams. HA! Thouhgt y'all were getting off, huh teammates? LOL No way, Jose!

I think I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the posting to all these teams I'm on. (and some of them I'm co-leader and haven't been doing well with that.) This will give me the opportunity to be a better co-leader. LOL

Now, we're about to have another thunderstorm. Last night we had one and now we're about to have another one... you know what that means... the computer must go off!

So, I'm signing off for now and gotta go workout while there is still electricity!

    I most certainly thought we wouldn't be getting any challenges until September, LOL. You know I understand how you feel - but I'm much further away from my goal than you are so I'm going to keep on accepting challenges.
