I've been lazy the last couple weeks. I've been slacking off logging my food. I've been getting workouts in but it's been a struggle, I've really had to drag myself to the gym or popping in a video. This is where I start to falter after I lose weight.
After an argument in my head, I started getting ready for the gym. I realized I hadn't done laundry in a few days.....no clean workout clothes. UGH! forget it, I thought, I'm too tired anyway. But I had just posted on SP that I was doing this so I had to figure it out.
I pulled on a pair of thin spandex/polyester pants I wear under my jeans when I ride my motorcycle in chili weather, an old ugly Tshirt and sorry to admit, a sports bra that was less than fresh. Seriously, I wasn't going to go there to hug anyone. I COULD NOT BELIEVE I was going out in public like this!
I got there later than I usually do and sure enough, all treadmills were full. AAACK! I almost went home. Instead I went into the weight machine room and killed time doing some upper body work. I tried some new machines I haven't used before which felt good.
Finally, a free treadmill! I caught a glimpse of myself in those pants I normally wouldn't be caught dead in and hey, not as bad as I thought. Not good mind you but not noticeably horrendous. Gave me a little more umph on the treadmill.
Today, I watched Safe House with my husband and felt a nap coming on. I pushed myself off the couch, bundled up and took the dog for a 15minute walk, then did the deck of cards workout I saw on Biggest Loser. You assign an exercise to each suit and then one by one, flip the cards over and perform that exercise however many times the number shows. It took me 15 sweaty minutes to get through the deck, then I jumped on my elliptical for 20 minutes.
I have to remember this post-workout feeling. This week will be TOM so I'm in for a challenging week.
I hope everyone had a positive day today!

Since we have to attend a training seminar 3 hours away from work in the morning, four other women and I took it upon ourselves to leave work early today and get hotel rooms near the training site. Of course we had to pay for this ourselves but we felt it was worth it.
I've been with this company for only eight months but I feel right at home with these woman. We had a fun ride up here, major laughs in the car. Lots of you-had-to-be-there moments! We're a group of women between the ages of 47 and 60. I'm the baby.
We checked into the hotel and headed to our rooms. I laid everything out that I would need in the morning so I can workout, get ready for the training session and pack quickly. I noticed the room key card on the dresser and thought I should put that in my purse so I do not forget it.
Two women came to my door saying we were just going to another woman's room to talk about where to go to dinner, don't worry about a purse right now. Cool, off we went. As soon as I closed my door, yep, I thought about the key card in my purse......in the room. Can't take me anywhere. Hilarity ensued.
After getting a new room key card for me, we drove around getting ideas for dinner. We decided on what looked like a nice steak restaurant. Seeing the packed parking lot, it occurred to us what a motley crew we were...... five women on a work trip trying to find a restaurant on valentines day. The nice lady at the steak restaurant said she wouldn't have anything till 10:00.
So we walked across the parking lot to Stir Crazy and had appetizers at the bar while waiting 45 minutes for a table. We amused ourselves people watching! More hilarity ensued.
I haven't laughed as hard as I have tonight since seeing Jeff Dunham last weekend and what seems like forever before then! I'd say I burned off everything I ate laughing so hard.
After dinner, I hit my room and logged on for two 10 minute Spark People workouts and then did a one minute plank. I'm getting better. I used to have to do 30 seconds, take a break then 30 more seconds. The last two nights, I made it a full minute without a break!
When you turn the tv on here at the hotel, the beautiful sight and sound of the moon shining down on ocean waves hitting the sand appears, with a row boat on the sand. All I need is for Kenny Chesney to start singing....."there's a blue rocking chair, sittin in the sand, weathered by the storm and well oiled hands." When I first met my husband, he sang softly along with that song on the radio and I fell in love with him!
Well, I'm all over the map tonight aren't I?? I'm going to read a little and fall asleep to the ocean waves. I have my alarm set to play This Girl Is On Fire by Alicia Keyes on my IPhone at 5am. I'll hit the elliptical in the fitness center in the hotel and get to breakfast by 7:15!
Oh yeah and then attend a boring seven hour training session. That's okay, the laughs we have had so far make up for that.
I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's day. Or at least a great Thursday!

Readers digest version......
Woken up by the dog at 3:30am. I don't have a fenced in yard so I have to go out with her. GRRR
Laid back down but was too angry to fall back asleep......until just before my alarm went off at 5:15am. MAJOR groggy feeling.
During my first meeting of the morning, I learned our off-site meeting later was cancelled. Thank goodness! I had no energy for that one.
I barely made it through the day with my eyes open. As tired as I was, I was still looking forward to working with my trainer tonight.
As I got ready to leave work, I received a text message from my husband not to call on my way home, he was laying on the heating pad, his neck was extremely stiff and he couldn't move.
So I got home, helped him with a few things, fed the dog, let her out and got to the gym.
I put everything in the locker, put my glasses on my top of my gym bag, locked it up and found my trainer who told me we were booked for last night. argh! Embarrassing!
I didn't have my music with me to get a run in so I went back to the locker to head home. I grabbed my gym bag, heard a clunk...oh yeah my glasses. The glasses were nowhere to be found. I tore apart my gym bag, looked in the locker four times., Looked all around the floor. WHAT THE HECK??? Of course I was saying worse things in my head.
Good thing I only live five minutes away. It was a fuzzy drive home. I do have a spare pair of glasses but I can't believe how those glasses disappeared!!!!
Before thinking about it too much, I hit my elliptical and did some upper body ST.
I'm SO glad this day is done!
Onward to tomorrow.

Just a few rambling thoughts.....
I hit the gym on Friday right after work. A minute into my run, I hear "bam, bam, bam, bam". I took out my ear buds to see if that was me running that hard, and oh nay nay, it wasn't me. It was the guy four treadmills over. He was really booking! I felt sorry for the balls of his feet.
Shortly after that, cell phone guy got on a treadmill next to me. I figured he was wrapping up a call but oh nay nay, he talked for 15 minutes AND he even put his caller on speaker while he took off his shirt! DUDE!
Saturday, I was at a store that specialized in sewing machines. I was not there for sewing machines but I'll leave out those boring details. I noticed cute little gadgets on the counter. A tape measure and thumb drive in one. The woman working there told me its only two gig because that's what the machines handle.
Excuse me, I'm sorry, what did you say, a sewing machine takes a thumb drive??? I have not used a sewing machine since Home Ec class over 30 years ago. Sewing machines are now thousands of dollars with touch screens and downloadable trademarked images like Disney. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!
As an anniversary present, my husband bought tickets to see Jeff Dunham and a hotel stay Saturday night. If you are not familiar with him:
Too bad I couldn't earn spark points for laughing so hard for two hours that my cheeks were sore after the show. We did briskly walk the two, cold city blocks from the hotel to the civic center and back. So I got my steps in for the day.
After we got home this afternoon, I thought, I'll just watch a couple episodes of the NCIS marathon and then go to the gym. An hour later when I woke up, I thought maybe tomorrow but then I read some blogs on SP and got the motivation to get my tuckas to the gym.
While running and wishing I was still on the couch immersed in the NCIS marathon, I noticed a woman on an elliptical in front of me going very very slow. I wished I had her butt! She got off, turned to walk away and that's when I saw she was EXTREMELY pregnant! Boy did I feel lazy for wishing I was still on the couch!
Well that's enough of my drandom thoughts. I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Rock on everyone!

I planned to go to the gym last night after 7:30 when the crowd starts to thin. After dinner my husband and I watched Hawaii 5-O that we had recorded. I was chilly and curled up with a blanket then our lab curled up next to me. A great end to a hectic day!
That's a bad move when you plan to go to the gym! I had just posted on Facebook to another fitness challenge "no excuses Tuesday". Not even sure where that came from, just popped out.
After Hawaii 5-O, I drug myself off the couch, pulled a sweatshirt over my tank top and put jeans and boots on so I would be warm and dry for the drive home.
I got to the gym and noticed they still hadn't corrected the hot and humid temp in there they messed up last week. UGH! I told myself to suck it up, good practice for the Warrior Dash I am registered for in the summer.
I noticed in the locker room that I forgot my workout pants. ARGH! I thought 'I'm skipping this, I'm tired anyway!' Then I remembered my Facebook post, "no excuses Tuesday". Grrrr! Blast my stupid Pollyanna attitude!
So I went home, got the pants and went back to the gym. Running back and forth through the cold parking lot woke me up.
i decided I'd only run a mile but actually I had a good 3 1/2 mile run. A little bit of walking to catch my breath for 30 seconds here and there but then I pushed myself to hit 6.0 and 6.2 for speed which is unheard of for me. A few times when I knocked the speed down to 5.0 it felt slow! SHUT UP! SO COOL!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, some of my best workouts happened when I thought I was too tired or conditions were not quite to my standards!
I have to remember my "no excuses" post each day!
