Starting this back up... again

Haven't been on in awhile due to college stealing my focus from eating right. Once again I have fallen back into bad habits, I started out the semester with the right mindset, but when the weight was barely coming off, I lost focus.
I'm writing this to make myself accountable for saying that I want to start back up again. So here I am saying it- I'm starting again!
I want so badly to feel good about myself, dress nicely, and feel beautiful just as you all are! I know I can do it. Things are about to change.
To anyone reading this post and struggling with staying motivated:
Just when you feel like giving up, remember why you started! you CAN do it and you deserve it!

Weight Loss Success!!

Good Morning! It sure is a good one emoticon
Today was my second weigh in and I am now down 4.2 pounds!! It's only four pounds but I have to admit... I'm really proud of myself! My mini goal was to lose 5 pounds before the end of the month. Now that I've nearly accomplished that 13 days into the month, I'm challenging myself to lose 3 more pounds this month. So far it hasn't been too hard, but I know the first five pounds are the easiest to lose. I know future weight loss will become more difficult because I will have less to lose, but I'm up for the challenge! Who else weighed in this morning?

New Years Resolutions!

In no particular order... here are my 13 fitness and non-fitness related goals of 2013!
1. Log in daily (food and exercise)
2. Becomes LESS lazy!
3. Dress better (looking better makes me feel better)
4. Be myself (be who you are and stop living for other people)
5. Do zumba more (amazing calorie burner)
6. Lose 20 pounds by the end of April 2013
7. Lose a total of 60 pounds by the beginning of Fall semester end of August 2013
8. Keep in better touch with friends
9. Be more neat and organized!
10. Be more optimistic
11. Be more forgiving
12. Try new things (go new places, try different workouts, etc)
13. Make moreSparkFriends! We all need support from one another.

WOW! I have quickly come to learn that this community is awesome! You are all so positive and inspiring to me! Thanks to all of you who left feedback and kind words (still learning on how this site works... sorry if I dont reply). I woke up this morning with such a positive attitude from all of your support! Day Two of Spark People

It's day two and can I just say this is easier than I thought! This decision of a healthy lifestyle and weight loss was due to a recent doctor visit that left me in tears. Something has to change and I made that decision right away. Anyways, I have been eating the recommended 1400-1600 calories per day and working out for about a half hour. I look forward to weight loss and an overall better feeling in myself. Would love any suggestions, comments, etc from others!

    Welcome aboard. I am a septuagenarian who is doing it. It took me five years to lose 60 pounds. I am in diabetic remission. I pedal over 10 miles /day on the reculmbent cycle and do many strength training and stretching exercises afterwards. I keep my calorie range betwen 1300-1500/day. I drink a lot of water al day long and snack on nuts all the time. It is working for me. Kep focused for successes. You cn do it. Go for it.

    Welcome to SP! emoticon I think that making a positive choice to lose the weight and the excitement of a new project really gives us a BOOST to get started. Just remember this feeling later on down the road, especially when holiday temptations pop up. Getting healthy and fit really does feel great when you do it right. emoticon emoticon

I have to say this is the 1st time I have consistently lost weight- and the number one thing I have done differently (besides Sparkpeople) is TRACKING everything I eat- looking up the calories/ and writing it down, and staying within my range.
