Results of First Week on HCG

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do this. I tend to quit when the going gets tough, but surprisingly, this hasn't been too bad! I've actually stuck my tongue out at the brownies in the fridge and have been able to turn down offers of food and candy at work. I was anxious about the lunch that I was going to for Administrative Professional's Day today, but the restaurant was extremely accomodating and I was able to enjoy my lunch. As an added bonus, the restaurant was right next to Harvest Market, so I was able to swing in and pick up some chocolate Stevia (yummy), Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar, Braggs Liquid Amino Acids and organic / unsweetened cocoa. Can't wait to see what I can make out of the HCG cookbook!

My two lifesavers so far ... homemade applesauce with Stevia and cinnamon and garlic shrimp. Both are awesome!!!! Even the kids love the applesauce!

What I've realized this week is that I have let food control me. I'm not really eating because I'm hungry. I'm eating because of habit or boredom. Oh, and I really, really, really, REALLY just love the taste of food. That is something, unfortunately, that I get from my father. This is going to be the hardest thing to get over ... eating for pleasure.

    Thanks!! I'm trying to hang tough today since I gained .2 yesterday, but then I also have a little "visitor" coming. UGH. I can't wait to see what the weight loss is after all THAT!! LOL. Keep up the good work, girls!

    Great job sticking to it! I wasn't sure if I could do it at first either, I'm only on day 5 but it's actually becoming a nuisance to eat- weird!
Your results are motivating for other newbies like myself.

    emoticon That is awesome. Half the battle is knowing the problem and how to correct it. I realized the same thing during the first week. It's amazing how much I ate just because. I hope this will be a life changing event for me and my husband. There is a lot of good information out here and a ton of support. Keep up the good work. Remember, it's not a sprint.

Boot Camp ... Hmmm, Day 4?

Okay ... so I'm not going to be mad at myself for only doing the first video of BC. I took down the Christmas tree and put stuff away on Day 2 and on Day 3 I did a bunch of push ups and crunches in the morning. So, what I did was better than doing nothing.

I have a PTA meeting tonight, so no gym, but possibly a BC video.

Eating has been going well ... probably should actually be eating MORE than I have. Working on making it healthier.

Need to work on my visual reminders .......

Did order my Christmas (ummm, Happy 2010!!) cards ......

Appointment with a counselor tomorrow .......

Boot Camp ... Day 1

I did the first day of Boot Camp today. I thought that I was in decent shape considering that I sporadically take BodyPump at the Y and never feel like I'm going to drop dead. Why the heck couldn't I jump over the stupid line on one foot???? That was just depressing. I made it through the video with modifications, so I guess that is good.

Eating today wasn't bad, though I really need to come up with menu ideas for each meal. I have a tendency to way under-eat on some days and then way overeat on other days. And on the days that I overeat, it's not on anything healthy.

So, baby steps ... just a few at a time.

1. Eliminate cheese, eggs and dairy to see if this is what is causing my skin problems (eczema)

2. Drink at least 8 glasses of water or water with Crystal Light a day (it's mommy crack ... I can't quite get rid of it just yet!)

3. Exercise for at least 15 minutes a day ... even if I have to break it down by doing something in the morning and something in the evening

4. Really take a look at what I am eating at each meal. Stop when I am full. Small snack BEFORE 8:00 pm.

5. For now, eliminate alcohol ... I don't need it anyway

6. Log into SparkPeople EVERY DAY and log my food and exercise EVERY DAY!

7. Go me!!
