Well, I finally splurged on myself and got a Fitbit One. It's pretty motivating! For the past week I've walked past a table we got out for a party that we normally keep In the basement. Today with my fitbit one, I was motivated to add a flight of stairs to my tracker - yay, me! So nice to find these motivating tools! What motivates you?

Today I set six goals for myself. I've spent the last two weeks sort of drifting along without a plan. So today, I set some goals for myself, and you know what? I accomplished them all. Yay, me!

Sometimes it's the smallest accomplishments that fuel our motivation! I hope everyone accomplishes their goals today!

Upcoming Challenges

Instead of being bombarded and overwhelmed by challenges and events that might sidetrack my progress, I decided to make a list of times when I feel most likely to fail. I included things like Thanksgiving dinner, a business lunch, a stressful workday where I didn't pack a lunch and run out of time to choose a healthy restaurant, etc. Next I wrote out a valid plan for each situation like what healthy choices I could make at a family gathering and what healthy snacks can I keep handy in case of emergency. I feel better already now that I have a plan. It has taken some of the stress that I feel when I think about how long and hard this journey will be. Anything in your future that you fear or fret may set you back? Now's the time make a plan instead of looking back and thinking coulda, shoulda, woulda!

    Wow! What a great idea. I am going to try this. We go to Callaway Gardens for Thanksgiving and I have the menu, so I will choose my dinner selections before we go.

Happy Halloween

Thinking about using the old excuse that Halloween only comes once a year? Think again! Trying to tell yourself you can only get Reese's pumpkins for a limited time? What about the Christmas trees and the Easter eggs? Candy corn calling your name and then trying to split? Ha! So many treats are available year round that we forget what it really means to "treat" ourselves.

This Halloween try taking a step back and reminding yourself that those limited time treats will be so much sweeter a year from now closer to your goal weight. Don't sneak treats either! Be accountable for what you do to yourself! Walk with the kids to trick or treat! Throw out the extra candy - pick two to three splurge pieces then get it out of the house!

Better to waste than wear it on your waist! Enjoy the spirit of the holiday, and wake up with no regrets on November 1st.

  You have given great advice! (however, I would cry over candy thrown into trash) There is some skinny guy to give it to. lol
By the way, the Reeses' special seasonal items like the pumpkin, Xmas trees, etc...happen to be made with a different ingredient formula.(Different from the regular Reeses cups) These treats are much more caloric and (bad) for us!---- True!
