Nearly the end of the year and i still haven't lost weight, very disappointing but typical. Have all these great ideas but putting them all together and making sure you do them is another thing altogether. But I shall keep trying......

Im in the same boat as you.. a lot to lose.. and a goal that seems out of reach.
After trying since April i only just recently lost my first 5kg..and then put on one the week after.
Just hang in there, its all about learning to make the 'smarter' option. when bored go for a walk instead of sitting in front of the tv or doing something relaxing, catch the bus to work and get off a stop earlier.. choose the salad instead of chips...
i think u get my drift...lol

good luck to u though.. im always looking for buddies if u need one!

Did you GAIN any weight this year?????

That is a serious question, because MOST Americans did, who made no effort to keep their weight stable. Eating an extra 500 calories per day can add 50# in one year. I don't mean to sound like some "egghead expert" but in the past 13 months I've been a Sparker, reading all the medical articles I have here, I've learned how easy it is to add pounds when you are NOT aware.

SO, you are a success IF you have stayed the same. You are a SUCCESS if you have changed just OEN healthy habit, like drinking more water and flushing out your kidneys, or getting GOOD sleep, etc.

And, yes, I do read blogs, because I find them helpful to ME. Even when they are negative, I see how being positive is helpful to ME. SO, just keep writing. I care. emoticon

I get confused with how to use this site still, sometimes I don't know why I write here, but I now think that it is a way to say hi to people who drop by for a look but mainly for myself to write whatever I need to say, maybe.
Went on the Treadmill for 45 minutes today, I certainly am keeping that going which is really good. Writing everything down so I can keep a good watch on what I am eating. But at least if I do go over calories at the moment it is only the good foods and not cream, biscuits, cakes, chips etc. Have to weigh myself tomorrow morning, see if there is a change, wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't, but I know there will be!!!. I hope nobody gives up if they do fall off the wagon, because you just get right on back up there and continue, because we can all do it with each others help.
C U Later...

Good morning! Sorry I have not responded before now. My husband was in an accident at home recently and has required round-the-clock care. I don't think I have sat down and relaxed since then. I am going to try to get into my home gym and work off some of this stress. I know I will need the extra strength as I have to help him in and out of the bed and in and out of the shower. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers over the coming months as he recovers.

Keep writing in your blog, sharing your victories and your challenges. This will help you and your fellow team members.

Valentines Day (Australia)

Thursday, February 14, 2008

Another Valentines Day is nearly over, still no one in my life, but I bet that changes when I start looking good!!!!!!. I am going real well with the Treadmill and hopefully I shall soon start with my home gym. You think by having all the gear I would look fantastic, shame it isn't that easy. Ah well, I will get there. I am going to go and buy some scales this afternoon so I really know how much I weigh. SCARY!!!. I might buy myself some flowers for Valentines Day as well.

I Started!

At long last I went on the Treadmill, all up it was only twenty minutes, around ten minutes at a time but at least I was doing it. Shall see how I go today!

No Success Yet

Tuesday, February 05, 2008

Well I still haven't done any exercise, but at least I am trying to watch what I eat, but still not counting calories. I just did the conversion of kilo's to pounds, to see how much I need to lose. My gosh it's depressing. I weight 220 pounds, my height is approx 5ft.6". Reading others achievements is good for me though, I feel as if i can do something about my weight and fitness levels. So my goal for today is to walk on my treadmill for half an hour. Shall see how I go.

Ok...step back for a minute. I think you are overwhelmed because you THINK you have a ways to go. Instead, work on changing your habits. Make a commitment to yourself that you will get some kind of exercise everyday: walk for 10 minutes in the morning; walk for 10 minutes at lunch; 10 minutes in the evening. Break your weight loss into "mini-goals." Change your ticker on your page so it shows you wanting to lose 15 pounds. Then, when you meet that goal, change it again. YOU CAN DO THIS!!

I hope you get on your treadmill. Try to get into using the nutrition tracker to help see how you are doing. I know you can do this.
