I get a KICK out of KickBoxing!!!

Saturday, December 11, 2010

Been doing Zumba since July and it's still awesome. But many of you know the feeling when your body starts getting used to a certain excercise and it's like your body gets restless. Well!!! I found my next level activity... KICKBOXING. Basically it's like TAEBO (now you know LOL:)

The first 2 months that I did Zumba I would be Beautifully exhausted and worn out by the end of class. If someone told me it would be alright to sleep on the floor for the night and they would watch my kids... hey, it would have been all good. Need less to say the honeymoon was over quick and my body started getting stronger.

Now I'm back to that same state of exhilaration with kickboxing. There's punching, kicking, swinging jumping. Your body is going fast, slow, up, down... it's the perfect switch up for me.

And once again, I'm waiting for someone to tell me I can sleep on the floor... :) emoticon

I'm estatic!!! I joined WW for the second time because I really needed a more organized way of eating. The Points Plus system is awesome FRUITS and VEGETABLES are 0 points, so it's not hard to feel full.

I'm in the zone! I see my short term goal and that's to maintain a weight under 200 pounds for at least a month, then my long term goal is to make it to a healthy weight of 145-150 and continue to eat healthy and stay active to maintain it for the rest of my life.

One bite at a time emoticon

Move over Dairy Queen!!!!

I usually let my bananas get pretty brown then I throw them in the freezer whole, run a little cold water over them when I need them, peel them like potatos, slice them in chunks. I used two bananas and 8oz choc almond milk tonight. I tell you, tastes so yummy I wanna do a commercial and jump up in the air like those old "Oh What a Feeling TOYOTA" commercials.

I love icy deserts and it's even better when they're healthy. This combo is packed with good stuff like protein and POTASSIUM :) emoticon

I have never gotten into making things like that. I am one I like my food whole and complete, but, each one has their own tastes. I hear so much about smoothies and mushing up all kinds of stuff together and it does not do a thing for me. But, yours does sound very good but not enough for me to try it. I have tried using fresh fruit and veggies for smoothies and it does not agree with my digestive system, I do much better with whole complete food kept separate, and I dont know why I am sharing all this with you except it is a point of contact and my opinion even though I respect you opinion and tastes these are mine. Everyone has there own way of doing things which is what I find so very interesting to me and I love trying new things and what works I will keep and what does not work I will stay away from. Well, thats enough of that, I talked that subjest into the ground. Never forget how much you are loved and valued and appreciated by our Father God and how important and special and unique you are in the body of Christ and let you light shine for the whole world to see and dont forget to also be salt and fight corruption where ever you find it. I praise Father God for joining us all together in one body to bring light and salvation to a lost and dieing world lost in darkness and the deceptions of the enemy. Rsemember wdhen we walk in love there is no law that can come against us and the enemy has nothing in us when we stay in love and refuse all offense. have a great and inspiring day today. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Yum. I love to make drinks with frozen bananas. I keep several peeled bananas in a plastic container in the freezer. Way easier than peeling later. emoticon Plus if I don't freeze them my guys eat them all before I get any.

$JACKPOT$ **Nutrition Facts**

Tuesday, December 07, 2010

One of the best things about this website is the ability to see exactly what you're putting in your body down to the bare minerals. It wasn't until I started tracking my food on SparkPeople that I realized I ate waaaaaaaaay too much carbs and not even close to enough protein. That was a major start in my weight loss alone.

Recently I posted a blog on excessive sweating. After some I research, I found out that one of the symptoms for potassium deficiency is... drumroll please... "Excessive Sweating"! Actually I was lead to do the research after waking up about 1:30 one morn with a MAJOR charlie horse in my left quad.

I wrestled with that thing for at least 10 minutes. It hurt so bad I cried... no, I SCREAMED. As soon as I stretched and massaged it out, it was like I got my thigh caught in a vice grip all of a sudden and the fight was on again. It had me crying out to Jesus to the point my throat was raw. After mentioning it to a coworker she mentioned potassium. It's like a vicious cycle. You sweat a lot cause you don't have enough potassim, then you cramp alot cause you've sweated out what little you had.

According to the RDA we should be taking in at least 3500mg of potassium a day. And I don't know about you but in the past my diet was lacking on the fresh fruits and veggies side and that is the major source of potassium. Did you know there's1000mg in a cup of raisins, 500mg in a med sized sweet potatoe, 700mg in a cup of black eyed peas, 700mg in a cup of prune juice and of course 600mg in a cup of bananas. I'm feeling healthier already!! emoticon

These days I'm like a kid in a candy store watching my nutrient totals as I track my foods. The wider range of numbers across the board the better. I don't know if many of you know this but you can actually adjust your food trackers to tell you just about every vitamin, nutrient and mineral you are eating. Thank God for Spark People and Chris emoticon

Well, until next time, Stay in the WORD and Stay BLESSED emoticon

Sweaty Gym *`*LUST*`*

Friday, December 03, 2010

It's amazing how once you start excercising regularly, your body starts to liven up in ways you didn't prepare for.

I'm in the gym one day, grindin it out on the tread, listening to my music, when lo and behold I notice this dude in the gym who is somewhat a regular. He's doin these pull down excercises and next thing I know I practically had to slap myself cause I got caught up in how his muscles were ripping through his sweaty beautifully tatooed skin and he has the body of a Mandingo warrior... ooops. See what I mean. I was just minding my business and all of a sudden I'm caught up with thoughts of this dude and his perfectly made Strong, Fit, Muscular.... (Long Sigh)

If it's not one thing it's another. LOL Pray for me emoticon

My spirit has been born again but this flesh is constantly screamin and kickin emoticon
