Ligament Damage

So the doctor said I have 3 ligaments damaged from the accident so I am looking at 6 months of therapy. Good News is that I can still run...bad news is 6 months of therapy. I am so aggravated. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I'm glad to hear you can still run! I damaged a ligament in my knee in high school and even after 16 years it still flares up on me sometimes...so don't follow my adolescent example and DO complete your therapy so that you can come back even stronger! :)

Lots of early mornings and late evenings is playing havoc on my sleep and workout schedule. I've even had to drink coffee twice this week (which I had cut out for the past 2 months). Glad it is already Wed, maybe I will get to rest and relax some this weekend (haha yeah right)

Making time

This week has been a nightmare... had lots of things go "wrong" which destroyed my schedule but shockingly when I got on the scale this morning it was still where I wanted it to be.

I only got to run twice this week and only for a total of around 7 miles which will not help me get ready for my races but I guess 2 times is better than nothing. Thankfully I still have lots of time to train (first race is not until Jan)

I have not been tracking my food, water or logging onto SP which aggravates me. I just can't seem to find the time. I KNOW that you must make time, but I just can't seem to even "make" time. I will need to sit and look at my schedule and see what I can change.

    I've not been sparking either. I'm starting today though. Do you have the app on your phone? That helps sometimes.

    Sounds like you are doing great even despite your lack of tracking! I slacked on tracking last week and somehow have absolutely no idea what I ate for dinner three days in a row.... Sometimes the best victories come from staying on track even when life isn't perfect - that's when you know you've really got a handle on your goals :)

    Making time doesn't have to be every day. Maybe you can keep a note book for tracking and then spark on the weekend. I hope you find a balance for it all. Sometimes life just gets in the way. You'll find a path :)

    My friend, you are SO not alone!!! I also need to find a way to "make time" for sparking more. Unfortunately, I haven't been as good with keeping my weight where I want it (I gained back 30 of my 50 emoticon )

Never thought I'd say this

So I am from the South, born and raised. I LOVE the South, I LOVE Spring and Summer and LOVE being outside and more importantly I HATE the cold. I have been anemic or borderline anemic all my life so I get cold really really easy....with all that being said for the first time I think in my life, I am SICK of Summer, I am sick of the heat I just want it to be cooler. I am so ready for colder weather. Running outside is brutal...it was still 108 with the heat index at 7:30 tonight. I thought I was going to DIE running 3 miles and that was with me taking water breaks constantly.

Please let the cooler weather get here soon.

    Uggg I'm sick of the BUGS! and this massive humidity is terrible for my asthma. I've had to move my exercise indoors to avoid an attack.

    I so understand. The mosquitoes ferocious this summer, because we have had s much rain. Rain is good because we have been in a drought for several years, but I am bombarded by the humidity and bugs. So bring in the pumpkins, and hay bales,Apple's,and greens, sweaters and boots. I am ready.

Crazy busy but in a good way

Been so busy but have found time to actually mix in some living instead of all just work. I have had so many awesome amazing experiences the past few months. I have promised myself that I will do at least ONE new thing every month and so far I have stuck with it. I went skydiving, tubed down the river, and got pulled on a tube behind a boat (I actually held on and didn't fall off which was shocking). I am going on a Segway tour on Friday and I have registered and am training for 2 marathon's. I am really really excited about where I am at in life right now.

    Sorry to make you worry, I got overwhelmed with work and dropped off of everything healthy...then one day I just said ENOUGH and started really focusing on being both physically and mentally healthy.
