130.6 today

Sunday, May 19, 2013

Weightloss can surely seem like one of the slowest processes ever! But i think thats because I just can't wait to be the person I know im suppose to be, i cant wait to be comfortable in my skin. Everyday I feel like I'm getting there :) I'm only .6 away from seeing the 120s again! super excited, and a little scared because I know maintaining will be challenging to say the least. Especially with the "normal" foods my family eats. At least for a while I was able to excuse myself saying im on a diet but when the diet is done what will my excuse be? I have to watch my figure! lol.

The most important think I've learned lately is WATER WATER WATER, I know people say it all the time and I'm always like mehhh ok, but I've been drinkng water until the point that it feels uncomfortable and I pee every 5 minutes but it helps so much! with my skin, my weightloss and my BM's! ( sorry if thats tmi but i always had a problem and turned to pills etc). Im stil not the biggest fan of water, it can be boring...even with fruit in it lol but the benefits are simply amazing. If I dont drink enough water in a day I see it in my weightloss, I loose a lot more on the days that I OD on water. It can be inconvenient to pee every 5 minutes but I remind myself that im flushing fat and toxins. GOOD STUFF!

So as I mentioned Im on the HCG diet. Not going to lie, its been rough and hard at times, but also easy at times. The results Ive seen I'm pleased with but I've decided that I'm going to only do a 23 day round whihc is the shortest round. Ive got 5 days to go to complete it before i move into P3. So far not including the 5 days left, I've lost 12 lbs and thats in 20 days and .6 lbs a day roughly.

Part of my reasons for choosing HCG was because my life is hectic. I got to school fulltime and work fulltime I also am the guardian of my litle brother who lives with me so I have to take care of him and his schooling and other needs ( his favorite foods to pick up when we go shopping are processed, frozen, sugary delights smh). I also have 2 dogs to care for. Dieting was the best choice for me to get into a healthy bmi. Despite the busy life i live, to maintain what I've lost this year (21lbs) I'm going back to dedicating myself to being active, walking as well and zumba and gym sessions. Luckily my brother is really into going to the gym so my membership covers both of us and we motivate each other. Im planning on starting my more active life on P3. P3 is 3 weeks and the only rules really are stay away from carbs, starches and sugars which I should stay away from in general anyway.

Anyways, My journey through all the weightloss and gain has been a stressful one. Its been a learning experience and the one promise im making to myself is I WILL NEVER let myself gain so much unhealthy weight ever again. I will weigh myself everyday and give myself a limit, if I pass that limit I need to dedicate the time and effort to nipping the problem in the butt right away before 5 lbs becomes 10 then 20 then 30. Eating healthier and exercise need to become a permanent way of life, and I have to somehow teach the other people I live with them same thing. The days of burger king binging and midnight taco bell visits without gaining weight are behind me, Ill never be that person again, Unfortunately my body will react to the fatty bad foods but its ok because Im now at the point in my life where being and looking healthy is not only important outside but inside too! I have to avoid the same fate of some of my family members like heart disease, diabetes, higb BP etc etc. NOt only to protect myself but to teach the children i might have one day, how to eat healthy and enjoy it. What a battle its been, its not over...it will never be over, but Ill try my best to find the ways I can enjoy it.

Good luck to everyone out there who is stugling to loose weight, believe in yourself because you CAN do this, no pain no gain! Everyday remind yourself of where you want to be and remind yourself that it is indeed possible! Nothing you put your mind to is impossible, dont be your worst enemy and put yourself down. You can do it! the benefits of completing your goal are far more then you see in the mirror. Its mental, internal, external, emotional. You have 1 life to live so make your dreams and goals happen no matter how long it takes, because you havent failed until you give up :)

update after 2 months- 138.2 on HCG

Friday, May 03, 2013

So I kind of took a break from dieting and sparkpeople but I was able to maintain my weight at 142 for the 2 months I wasn't working out and dieting. I still tried to watch what I eat but not as much as I used too. Im glad to know my body was comfortable maintaining the few pounds I lost ( 152 to 142) 10lbs.

I'm on my next diet venture which is HCG. I know there is a lot of people out there that don't agree with this dieting plan but I did a lot of research and believe it was the right decision for me...time will tell fully. If anyone heard rumors about the diet or why they shouldn't do it I would encourage them to read pounds and inches by Dr. Simeons. It's a pretty short read and here is the link

One thing I'm realizing more and more through my weight gains and losses is that the process can be very sensitive and no 2 cases will be exactly the same. There is so much to consider and learn about your own body that no one can write in a book or tell you in a clinic. Only you can find what things your body reacts to positively or negatively. Things that can disrupt weightloss can be as simple and lack or water intake to complex food reactions , hormonal imbalances, muscle mass, calorie intake, carb intake, and the list goes on and on. Everybody is different with many different reasons why they can or cant loose weight as fast as others. My advice to people who struggle is look deeper into your body and pay close attention to its reactions.

Anyways I've done a lot of dieting types. Atkins, lipotropics, diet and exercise, body wraps, sauna and massage, and now HCG. While on HCG in 4 days i've lost 4.2lbs and counting. My primary care doctor perscribed me the hcg and diet plan so I didn't buy it from any website or vendor. I'm doing a 21 day round so I've got 17 days to go on a VLCD ( plus 3 after hormone intake stops), I'm hoping to loose at least another 8+ lbs putting me in the low 130's to 120's.

will update in a week or so with results!

Dropped 2lbs and fell off the wagon

Monday, March 04, 2013

Just an update the last time I went to the clinic I weighed in at 142.4 which is another 2 lbs gone yay! the bad thing though is the TANITA scale said most of it was a loss in muscle. My check in was a week ago and since then I kind of have been eating bad. I had chinese and mcdonalds this weekend due to no time to cook or shop and stress from having construction going on in my house. Im scare to jump on the scale and see how much i've gained! ugh!....

Recently I was thinking about going back on the high protien low carb diet to get to my weightloss goal. It was a really hard diet for me to follow but the results were amazing. I've also been getting those lipotropics shots...which to me don't seem to be working , I think i lost weight because of what I was doing and not the shots. Plus they make me a little anxious at times, i don't know if that is a side effect or not.

I'm still battling with my love for food and balancing calories in verses calories out. Anyways I am seriously thinking about doing the atkins type diet again anyone who has comments I welcome!

I've been doing high protein which ultimately led to low carbs too! It keeps me really full. I can't say for sure it's worked for my goals yet. I've struggled with the whole sabotage snacking, but hopefully it gets under control ;). Good luck!

my 2 cents (which you can completely ignore). Forget about trends and fads and shots. You may get results, but are they healthy or lasting? Go slow and easy and make it count.

Also don't beat yourself up over poor decissions over 1 weekend: Take a breath, assess what's happening, and make a plan to keep the bad stuff from happening again. Then move forward with your plan.

You can do this!

5 lbs gone!

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

I went to the weightloss clinic on sat to get my biweekly liptropic shot and my weigh in came to 145.4! that means I lost about 5lbs which means im 1/5 of the way through my goal . I've setup goals fo myself for every 5lbs that I lose . Next stop will be 10lbs total loss and seeing the 130's on that scale! I can't wait! This 1st 5lb loss mean I get a new pair of workout shoes yay!

Some things I've changed/incorporated:

One of my co-workers lives in an apartment complex that offers free fitness classes so I've commited to go with her and another coworker ever monday ( brazilian toning) wednesday ( zumba) and thursday(buns and abs). I've gone to a monday night class and a thursday night class so far and they have definitely left me in pain lol. Before I felt like I only wanted to exercise at home because it was more convienent and private, but since these classes, I really enjoy going out and burning the calories. Plus its an excuse to have some girl time during the week ( considering I have no real social life).

Something new I tried ( just this morning) is I bought the special K protein cereal . Its actually really good! it doesnt have the weird protein aftertaste, its a little sweet and packs 14g of protein if you eat it with skim milk ( i use 2% because I just cant change; more protein and more cals though) . I also started taking the culturelle probiotics ( sorry if this is TMI but i always had problems here)

Overall I'm pretty happy with my progress, I even got a " you look like you lost weight" from my mother in law ( who wont ever lie to you especially about how you look). Even though its only 5 lbs, im only 4'11 , i can feel the change and apparently see it too. Initally I set my goal to lose 2lbs a week......let me tell you....that is quite hard to do. I lost 5lbs in a little over 1 month. I don't know if I will make it to my goal of 25lbs by april with the rate im loosing, ut here's hoping. I don't really know what else I can do ( if anyone has suggestions I always welcome them)

So far the changes I made are to eat more raw fruits and veggies. very low sugar intake. portion control. exercise at least 3 times a week. drinking more water( I still need to work on this)

But i guess just like any other battle in life...slowly but surely I'll get there :)

147.4! ( according to my scale)

Finally broke the 148 mark...My next goal is 145! Then I get my first reward which is a new pair of workout shoes :) Today I also have a checkup with the weightloss clinic to get another shot and weigh in ( with the real deal scale)

Diet and exercise is no joke hard to stick to, but whenever you fall a little, pick yourself up and start where you left off no biggie :)
