It takes a village.....

......to help Katie lose weight!!!! Thanks to all for the spark support!!!! I worked with my trainer Friday night and it was amazing! He started working on HIIT with me.... High Intensity Interval Training. Basically he would boost my bpm in intervals. So I would walk for 20 seconds, run for 20 seconds, walk for 20 seconds etc. I did that for 25 minutes!!! I couldn't believe it because I was getting over a cold... Not to mention the fact that I have never been a runner at all! It felt so good. Then I did a series of "burn out" sets that included abs, squats, toe taps, jumping jacks etc. He kept my heart rate up for the entire hour!

He also gave me a diet. It was really interesting because the foods he wants me to eat varies depending on whether the day is a HIIT workout day, or a "low intensity" workout day (walking, slow jog, biking etc.) On the HIIT I deplete my body of all starchy carbs and stick to lean proteins for the most part. On the low intensity days I can eat more healthy carbs. He also told me that "whole grain" is way better than "whole wheat." Of course I had no idea!

So now I feel like the last piece of the puzzel is in place, a healthy diet with a purpose! Can't wait to weigh myself (going to wait a week until my cycle is over). Once again thanks to spark people for keeping me motivated and keeping me positive!!! emoticon

Frustration

At the beginning of the week I felt like I had finally got into a great weekly workout routine. I was feeling stronger and had hope that this time I was actually going to succeed at meeting my weight loss goals. Tuesday I woke up with w sore throat. As I type today (Thursday) I have a sore throat, ear ache and cough. Nothing like the common cold to sabatoge a workout routine. AHHH! Sometimes it just seems like you're up against the world. emoticon

    Thanks for all your support everyone. I've been taking a ton of Vitamin C and I think I'll be OK tonight at the gym. I'll let you all know. =o)

    I've been fighting an ear infection for about 4 weeks now, so I completely understand. This week I've finally been able to give my 100% at the gym. Take it from me; give your body the rest it needs and then get back to it.

    Dude, I know that sucks! Everything will come back together once you are feeling better. Take come Vitamin C and drink some hot tea with a little honey and lemon in it and have some chicken noodle soup and sleep it off and I bet you'll be feeling better in no time. I know that it sucks, but I also know you can get back into the swing of things! Feel better! emoticon emoticon

    Tomorrow, March 20th, the Sun goes into ARIES at about 7:44 A.M eastern time. and SPRING begins. This is a wonderful time to BEGIN anew. Honestly, the Earth knows that we start fresh and everything WAKES UP from the Dark Winter. Start anew and make yourself "GROW" in strength. emoticon
