A Christmas gift

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

Afternoon, just got back from my doctors appoinment. He talked with me for quite awhile about balance in our lives and the quality of it. That weight loss or exercise was not the focus but quality and feeling healthy was. He told me that I was looking good and healthy and now was the time to focus on staying healthy. He thought I might try to stop the diabetic medication he said just watch you will know in 2 week if you need to start back up. He plans for me to repeat my A1c in febuary. Now that the time has come I am nervous I think I would like to wait until after the holiday season maybe lose another 5 pounds. but I am really happy. I still have my weight loss goal to reach. He gave me a really great Christmas gift. emoticon

Excellent. You have done a great job getting the weight off and increasing your exercise.

You have been doing all of the right things to look and feel healthy, and you have succeeded in reaching those goals. While you may not have reached your weight goal, I believe that these two are really important prerequisites for doing that - if you look good and feel good, the rest will follow because of your mindset. emoticon emoticon

I was nervous just as you were. But don't be! The worst that will happen is that you will see that you need to go back on it! But you won't know till you try.

Just for the record, I was successful.

Just mind your diet and exercise and you'll be fine!

A Day Off

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

emoticon Expected to be off working this morning was called yesterday no work for today, so change of plans. emoticon Hmm.. what to do? Oh I know! I'll go for a walk, do some strength exercises, chat with my Spark Friends, and if I have time do all the things around the house I've put off because I hate doing them. emoticon Well If I do that I had better get moving.
Decided to do a Blog this Morning. I started looking at the past Blogs I have done and realized there was a lot of responses to them I hadn't expected, so I want to thank everyone that has ever made a comment to them. I was reading the comments today and it made me really glad I am part of Spark People. emoticon You Guys are emoticon

There's a lot of positive people out there

Sunday, August 25, 2013

This is the final day of our 2 week challenge for females 55#. We were supposed to write a blog everyday this week. Writing blogs has been a challenge for me. I have to write and rewrite what I write several times. As a result I have not done this part of our challenge this week until now. emoticon
When I first started Sparkpeople my goal was basic, find a program to track my food and exercise.
I find that Sparkpeople has been very instrumental with my desire to be healthy, control my weight as well as my blood sugar. I have been intensely trying to do this for the last 3 months that I have been a member of this group. I have learned about food tracking and evaluating what I eat. This has been an ongoing learning event. The information out there is interesting and informative. Old ideas about nutrient have changed. Exercise tracking and the types of exercise have been available. New information is there for the grasping. emoticon
What I didn't realize or expect was the amazing amount of support I would receive. The Encouragement and various suggestion, people expressing their happiness when they achieved their goals or their sadness when they had a backstep. People genuine in their best wishes for you. There's a lot of positive people out there, people that don't criticise your fears or your missteps (no failures here because there is no giving up). This Blog is a effort to thankyou for all that support. emoticon

    The same here.
Although I was looking just for a platform to track my food, what I found was a treasure of people and information.

Glad you are getting the hang of it here and doing good with your goals! Maybe one day, blogging will become second nature to you. I never wanted to now I love it. Yes, it is time consuming, but it really does help doing it. That is how we know how you are doing and can give you the support you need. And go to others blogs to help them. It comes round full circle. We are in this together and I agree, very supportive here and meeting new people from around the world is fun!! Thank you for stopping by my page and congratulating my on my 3 years here! I am here for the long haul! emoticon

OFF days Why and What to do about them

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

What makes me go off track? Stress, worry, work, frustration, Anger, me not meeting my expectations, boredom, emoticon almost anything emoticon
Plan: emoticon meditate, try to let go of the things I can not change, encourage smaller steps not huge jumps, nothing has failed until I give up. Continue tracking my food and exercise to bring consistency
utilize activity and tracking to turn those things around to benefit me to assist me towards my goals. Make the opportunely for the OFF Day in my life to be twisted around to become positive emoticon Day
