2012 New Goals

Working on new goals for the New Year!

Last year I didn't get very far in my goals but I openly admit that except for the 5 or so days I spent blogging on here, I didn't really come here or much or even work on my original plan. But despite it all, I managed to make this the first year in which by the start of the next year I weighed less then what I started. On top of that I'e managed to keep the weight off for about 6 months! Yep, I'm lighter by 10 pounds!

So this year I'm setting up new goals for next year. I won't be going into details during this blog because the plan is to do a yearly, monthly, weekly and daily plan. This here will be the yearly goal set up (long term goal) and later will put up the monthly and weekly set up.

So here goals, 2012 New Goals:

1. Reach 190lbs: This would mean a 55lb loss for the year. 4.5 lbs a month or 1.25lbs a week or so. I think this is doable.

2. Increase my fitness level.

3. Eat healthier.

Yep, general goals but I will be setting up detailed goals as the year goes along.

    Awww, I love y'all! okay so it was more than 5 days since I have more than 5 blogs for the year LOL but still nothing like back in the days. I'll have to work on that for sure.

12, 13 and 14

Okay so here is what happened. I logged my food and everything for day 12 but forgot to blog and then forgot to do everything yesterday because I was out for most of the day. So I'm wrapping everything up into one bundle so that I can start doing this at night.

I've fallen off the plan totally, not doing it for about 4 days so far and eating very poorly. I'm still running here and there and eating fast food nearly daily. :( I'm hoping to make a few changes this week though!

Here is my weigh in...2lb gain. Actually I weigh in daily and I actually had gained 5lbs by Thursday and then it started dropping off. I don't know what it was but I'm assuming that it was water weight due to the high sodium meals of Monday and Tuesday. The sodium hasn't dropped down that low so I'm hoping it's still just sodium gain. My calories were a bit high for 3 days (about 200-300 over) but not enough for a 5lb gain or even a 2lb gain (far from the 3500 that is supposed to equal a pound!) but it is a lot more over than what I normally have to do in order to lose a pound or two so that may be the issue.

Day 11

I'm off on all accounts! Not stuck to the plan at all due to lack of needed materials (need to go shopping major!) and on top of that the lack of shopping has lead to lots of eating out. I have gained 4lbs!!! I feel tired and bloated :(

Food for yesterday... Taco bell double x burrito...I know, I know... Um a klondike bar...pistachios.... and roast beef....yep...I know...

Day 10

Okay so I've lost a little bit of the regained weight but not all of it. Yesterdays eating was not at all good. I found myself starving around 8 and realized I had only had a yogurt for breakfast, 10 chicken nuggets for lunch (tyson) and one of those fruit pies for a snack. I ended up making pasta for dinner with little bits of sausage. It was only enough for 6 servings split between 5 of us and we still have a pot of it left (what a waste) and only 4 sausages in the package. I'm guessing I had about half a sausage and about 1.5 cups of pasta...2 tops. But, while waiting for dinner to cook up I had a Klondike bar...*sigh*. I really need to get the eating in check and get off the "bad" food kick that I was trying so hard to do just last week.

    I think I'm in the same boat as you, having to retrain myself and my body to eat healthier and appropriate portions. Back in May I got sick with pneumonia and was sick for 3.5 weeks. In that time I went UNDERweight, so when my appetite came back I allowed myself to eat extra in order to get that weight back.

Well, my weight came back but my eating hasn't changed. It hasn't helped that I recently baked a bunch of cookies and it seems like I'm the only one eating them. My downfall has been my evening snacking. Once I allow myself one snack, it's quickly followed by another and another and... Well, you get the idea. :)

Try this. It's been working for me the last few days. Take your daily calorie goal and divide it by 4. Try to eat that many calories at each meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and for your total snacking (perhaps mid-morning and mid-afternoon, or whenever you find yourself craving a snack). In this way, you're satisfying your body almost continuously but still keeping from overeating.

Also, look for foods that will fill you up without too many calories. A cup of strawberries or diced watermelon is only 50 calories. A serving of baby-cut carrots (3 oz or 85 g) is only 28 calories... but that's a lot of carrots! One thing that also helped me was to never eat a "naked carb"... always put some protein with it. Half an apple, sliced into wedges, eaten with some peanut butter, is an excellent option.
