So I've had two days of bad dealings with people at the Y. Day one: Go there with the kids, baby in stroller and I'm waiting for the elevator. I know it's slow so I continue to wait and then push the button again. I continue to wait and then think to myself that some one with disalilities must be getting on. So I wait a bit longer. Mind you, it's like 9 at night, no one is around me and only one person is working the desk, some teen folding towels. So I smile at him, make a comment about the elevator being slow and continue to deal with the baby who by now is getting restless and is undoing the stroller straps. So I say out loud, "I wonder what is going on?" and have the girls go up the stairs to check. One comes down saying that nothing is going on and lord and behold, baby unbuckles his straps and heads up the stairs. Now I have my purse and all in the bottom of the stroller so I send her chasing after him while I try to get up the stairs with the stroller. Then I hear the other child crying, take the handle of the stroller and lift the whole thing up while nearly taking two steps at a time, (easier then searching the bottom for my purse or hoping no one takes off with it.) I get up there and she's just upset cus the elevator won't work. At the same time though the baby and the other child are missing so we figure they headed to the track. We get to the door, their stuff is all over the floor, they aren't in the track and now I ditch the stroller looking for them. Baby ran back down the stairs. So we get on the track and walk and go back to the elevator. Now normally I would not have even cared to wait for it but lets not forget my SPD, hip and knee issues, after dragging the stroller up, chasing the baby and doing the stairs to start with, I was hurting. So we continue to wait for the elevator and after a while I send the kids down to the guy with the towels cus he can see me waiting but can't hear me for some reason. They ask him about the elevator and lord and behold did I just hear him tell them that it doesn't work? I drag the stroller and baby down the stairs, lean over the counter and tell him, "It would have been nice if you had said something during that whole time I was out here earlier instead of letting me and my children wait for a broken elevator! How about putting a sign up so that you don't have mothers with their handicapped children waiting around just for your amusement!"
"Oh yeah, that's a good idea" was the reply....
So, I was in so much pain due to all the stairs, running around and yada that I didn't go the next day and instead worked out at home.
So I went last night and Aaron tells me I got 15 mins on the track before they close. So we carry the stroller up cus now there is a sign on the elevator stating that it doesn't work and we go once around the track and head off to go again. The girls got a drink so they are a bit behind me when I hear this guy shouting at them. Totally alarming to the point that I head back to see what's up and find him telling them that they can't be there. I ask why and he says that the Y is closed. I tell him that it closes in 15 mins and he then says that all activites are closed. I'm thinking that they do this so that you can get dressed and ready to leave in time. So I'm pissed cus Aaron told me that I could use the track still and these idiots are sitting up there laughing and smiling at me and all like it's a joke but at the same time they aren't saying a word to the basket ball players down below. So I talk to Aaron and he says that normally the track closes down like everything else and the workers use it after wards and that he's going to tell them to get off the track so I can finish up. I'm fuming now cus the baby has ran down the stairs again and is in the indoor racket court. Aaron tells me that they can all play there and I end up lugging the stroller down stairs and working on the ellipitcal till it's time to leave. I end up having to pass the idiots who kicked me out of the track early and boy was I not happy.
Let's not forget the woman who passes my kids who are playing on the racket court and rolls her eyes at them. I wanted to slap her but instead just stared her down.
Really, really not happy! I hate the freakin teens who work at the Y!!!
