not feeling the gym!

Mine's still crowded. Unless I'm going to a class I don't really don't wanna venture there only to fight with others over the cardio machines, so I stayed in and got my sweaty on. Whenever I don't feel like going or am not in the mood/energy to move/drive there/have other things I need to do, I promise myself that I will at least do 15-30 minutes of exercises at home. In which I normally venture to my fitness board on pinterest, pick something out that's easy to follow and get to it.

Tonight I did this:
From self.com (Which btw has awesome quick videos in case you're in a pinch)
Holy crap. It is super high energy interval like training that keeps your heart rate up the entire time! I just set up my interval timer on my phone to play a different song every 30 seconds so that I could keep track of where I was. In the 30 second rest breaks I just let the video play the next move so I didn't lose track of my "stacks" and all in all it took me about 23 minutes to do both sets of six exercises.

Try it out if you're like me and would rather avoid 19 degree temps than to go to the gym tonight! The moves are simple too if you just wanna watch the video and write them down in case you can't work out in front of your computer.

    I like to use the SparkPeople videos when I don't feel like going out. Sometimes I use YouTube too!

I quit. Weighing myself. For a month or five or one hundred I really don't care!

Until I do my successes will be measured by...

-fitness minutes
-amount of water guzzled
-days in calorie range
-amount of freggies consumed
-the way my clothes fit
-measuring weekly
-energy levels
-happiness levels

I'm freeeeeee!

Foggy jogging!

I ran this weekend! I was away visiting my nan and pop at the beach and figured with no gyms in sight I might as well lace up the tenners and hit the pavement. Saturday morning was perfect, I had a liter of water before I left the house at about 8am, an empty stomach, walked for a bit to warm up and took off, ...er running. Hehe. I decided to give myself some credit since I hadn't been on an outdoorsy run since November and just take it slow, stop when I wanted and walk when I needed to. I ended up doing about 2.25 miles! It was nice weather, not too windy, not too cold but also not too warm for January (although, I heard it was in the 60's in Baltimore!). It was foggy, however, see below.

I ran to the beach, took a walking/breathing break to pray, give thanks, admire my surroundings, think, etc. Here's a picture of said beach in nicer weather...

...then I turned back for the rest of the 1.2 miles. It was glorious! My legs and lungs felt strong, I only stopped twice to stretch and catch my breathe and I just overall felt fit!

I was so confident that Sunday I attempted to repeat my wonderful experience. Except, I did it all wrong. Sunday I didn't feel like running in the morning, I had coffee, breakfast watched the O Channel, recovered my stress levels from the strenuous Ravens game and lounged around the house. We went shopping, went to the boardwalk and then finally I felt the urge to move around 5pm. It was getting dark and was still very foggy but I decided I thought it was worth it. I let my confidence get to me and started off way to strong. At about .5 of a mile I was pooped. It was cold, rainy and I was too uncomfortable to go on.
Sunday night's run:

Lesson learned: Stick to your routine and what you know. Don't get cocky! Not every run will be good, but I'll savor the memories of those that were!

  Congrats on getting out and running on both days! ecspecially on Sunday when your routine was broken! I have the hardest time getting that workout in when life interferes with my routine. I assume your a Ravens fan?

1st Weigh in 11/1/12: 219.6
Week 10 Start Weight: 210.2
Current Weight: 207 ish - this is what I weighed on Tuesday, forgot to weigh in today
Weekly Difference: All my Christmas weight gone, my 14's are fitting again!!!

Down approx. 12.6 pounds in a little over 2 months!

Fitness Minutes: 472 WHOA! This number is super inflated since I got my fitbit, it tracks steps and minutes walking and automatically adds them to my tracker. I've calculated that 240 minutes is what I spent actually trying to work out, i.e. going to classes and running.
Fitness Days: 4/7 GOAL MET
Thursday- 60 MINS BODY PUMP
Friday- OFF
Saturday- 60 MINS BODY PUMP
Sunday- OFF
Monday- 60 MINS ZUMBA
Tuesday- OFF

Days in Calorie range (1540-1900): 5/7 2 DAYS UNDER, Since I added the fitbit my calories burned went up so much that my nutrition tracker adjusted to compensate. I have trouble eating that much and am trying to stay on the low end of that range.

Plans for Week 10: Jan 10-Jan 16th - I've challenged myself to 30 mins of activity every day this week!

Thursday: Body Pump - 60 mins
Friday: Going to the beach, 30 mins abs when we get there!
Saturday: Biking on the boardwalk, morning run 60 mins
Sunday: Biking, walking or running my choice! 30 mins
Monday: Zumba 60 mins!
Tuesday: Body Pump 60 mins
Wednesday: Elliptical 30 mins

Weight Goal: Loss of 1-2 lbs
Fitness Goal: Work out 7 days, or 300+ minutes ! This week only in my push yourself challenge to be active every day!
Calorie Goal: 5/7 days in Range

    Congratulations! You're definitely on the right track. I agree with you about the fitbit tracking everything. I don't like to include the steps and activity of daily life either, just actual workouts.
