    Woot woot! Love a startup plan! Yours looks great! Our measurements are pretty similar actually. Finally got cleared (after a year) to restart running program - PT finally gone! Lots of intervals (4 min walk, 1 min run) and stretching to make sure I *never* get it again! Woot!

    Great time of year to just be out there! I like your plan a lot- just 2 additional things that I think are a must:

1) Be flexible- something is always better than nothing and life IS going to happen!
2) Take care of your emotional well-being ( including sleeping, down time, family time, you time.. whatever you crave the most... in realistic terms of course)

I know you know all this, but sometimes we are so MOTIVATED to rock it, we tend to forget those things.. unitl life happens or they catch up with us.

I'll be rooting you on- go Karvy go!!!

    Feel the burn! I am so excited for this. My half-marathon training is a ten week one (from self?). I am a little nervous about my week at camp, but as long as I get a few short runs in and then do a long run the Sunday I get back I think I'll do ok.

    Thanks guys. It's more like 13 weeks til the half, but I'm giving myself extra time if I need to in order to get those long runs done!

The water has lemons, cucumber and mint. It's actually very refreshing!

Time for a Reset

Life has been getting in the way of my healthy lifestyle. My in-laws were at my house for two weeks. And then it was celebration after party after celebration... and then, I just got lazy...

No more. I'm sick of feeling sluggish and horrible. I know what I need to do. I know that it works. It sucks hardcore that I can't eat as much as my skinny friends and family, but that's how it is, and I just have to make the best of it. I know I gained back some weight and I'll weigh in tomorrow and do measurements and get the show on the road.

IT'S SUMMER!

I have accomplished some things though.

emoticonAfter agonizing and agonizing, I found a daycare program for Keira starting in the fall. As good as she is, it is just tough to get anything done and she deserves more attention than I can give her.

emoticonI won a couple of big cases, which was a fantastic ego boost. There are now about a dozen new U.S. citizens and more to come, thanks to my work.

emoticonI got recommended for a BIG job and applied for a couple of others. It felt good that someone said such great things to a prospective employer.

emoticonI didn't lose my marbles after hosting my in-laws for two weeks and planning a Christening brunch for 70 people.

emoticonI planted an herb garden! And have a proper tomato and squash patch. My house truly feels like a home now.

emoticonI love my family so much. I just feel so connected to and blessed to have my husband and daughter.

I'm running a half marathon in just under 100 days with MAMADELIGHT and LISSOME and I need to get back in running shape. So I've got my half marathon plan set and posted on my refrigerator with an exercise calendar. This time around I have a run-walk day, a short run, and a long run.

So that's where I am.

Also... SIX MONTHS!!!! I can hardly believe it!

Like you said, you know what works, and you know the changes that need to be made so that you will have more energy and feel better about things. You've got a busy life but once you make time for yourself and your health, everything else will improve in quality as well. You can do this Karv!

KITHKINCAID's comment made me tear up. You are one of my biggest inspirations for beginning to run as well, and I am so thankful for it.
I am 100% CAPITAL LETTERS with you on getting back on track. I need to take care of my body, and the "fuel" I've been putting into it is just plain ridiculous.
WOOHOO! for the training plan. Mine is in the Google calendar, and I'm going to stick as close to it as I can.
It sounds like you've had a whole lot of positives over the past few weeks to accompany the unpleasant stuff, and that is awesome. Really, when some of the pieces fall into place, I find it makes the rest of it that much easier. Even though you wouldn't think the job and family stuff necessarily has that much to do with the health stuff.
Wow...can you tell I've had a couple glasses of wine? I'm usually not verbose in the blog department.
Anyyyyyway. YES! to the great. Farewell to the laziness. We are going to be sleek machines come the end of September. Hear that Lori???
And no way is Keira six months. I feel like it was just yesterday that you were out with an icky-feeling stomach on your run, trying to blame it on the Gu.

    Adorable baby! Congratulations on surviving the inlaws.

We are joining a community garden and renting a row. This will be our first garden ever. They will consult with you on Saturday mornings and will help plan our garden next month. We are in FL and right now it is too hot to grow anything much so planning starts in July. We are so excited so I know with your herbs, tomatoes and squash you must feel very happy!

    You and I are eating in almost the exact same calorie range right now - which should be good for both of us! I managed to avoid some major temptation tonight with a friend who doesn't quite understand how this works (and wanted to go our for pizza- I said how about something healthy and she suggested Cheddars - lol, not helping).     Mmm....all looks good :). Avacados are one of my current fave things...my mom isn't a fan so it wasn't an item I grew up with, but living in So. Cal the exposure is constant and they aren't very expensive for the most part. Getting used to using them more and more for great, healthy flavor. Now, I know what I need to add to the shopping list :).

    I tried that Ben & Jerry's frozen Greek yogurt once. I bought one of those cute little single-serving cups. It was OK, but I was kinda disappointed I didn't love it. I'm glad you did, though. Good eats today for you!

    OK, your blog is WAY informative. First of all, I didn't know they made coconut almond milk?! I will definitely have to have my personal shopper (the BF) check that out. WOW! Ditto on the frozen Greek yogurt!!

Glad you enjoyed those 2 glasses of wine - I was at work till 10pm (hey, nothing says South Beach like working till 10pm on Friday) and I am definitely going to make up for that tonight! :D

    I really wanted to love that banana PB greek yogurt but it tasted funky to me... Still intrigued to try the blueberry one though!

I never thought to add rotisserie chicken to a salad- you are genius, friend!
