Day one - Photo

I came up with a great idea! (although I did not think of it on my own --- am borrowing from a social media site!) I am going to take my headshot every day (or best that I can do) from now until May 24, 2014 to show my progress on this journey! Here is day one 07/18/13.

10 months to get strong and healthy :)

My wedding is in ten months -- and although I know we should not lose weight for a specific event, this is a major goal for me. This is my 2nd later-in-life wedding and I really want to look and feel much much better than I did in my first wedding. My goal is not a specific weight amount, just to be healthier and lighter than I am today.

The ways I am going to tackle this are:
1. Drink 16 oz. water before each meal -- and throughout the day
2. Track what I consume
3. Move some everyday -- even 15 minutes is beneficial
4. Take a multivitamin every day
5. Enjoy the ride!

Following the steps above will provide me:

1. Better health
2. Less weight
3. Stop snoring (or PURRING - thanks LJOYCE55!!) or less of it!

Looking forward to this transformation --- I want to rock it in my wedding dress :)

    Good plan. Small steps lead to great gains so take it one step at a time; one change at a time so it can be come a habit.

Day 4 --- always challenging

Yesterday went well... well, at least until i got a hold of the Ledo's pizza. I did track everything though, and went over my calories by just a little. No more pizza for me !

Day 3 ~ Uncertainty

So, yesterday I did a GREAT job all day at work (because of the structure of eating is in place), and blew it all on Ledo's Pizza in the evening. I am very sad and disgusted with myself. But, I cannot dwell on what is in the past. I can start from now and make a brand new ending!

on another note, a girlfriend convinced me to walk in a 5k in two weeks. I am scared because I have not been in training for it, but I will just take it slow and easy.

I just have to find my weight loss mojo again.

    Keep doing what you're doing!! Celebrate the accomplishments no matter how small, don't beat yourself up for your mistakes-just learn from them and move on and before you know it you will have your mojo back. I believe in you!!

Day 1 ~ the Journey

Dear Me:

Ah, so here I am. Once again. Starting over... no, not really... just continuing. 349 days until the Big Day ;) I vowed that, in my second chance, with a new man, to not be as big as I was in my first go around. I want to see a slimmer, healthier me, in my photos in my second wedding. So, here I am. 279.4 lbs --- 11 months and 15 days to go...

My goals:

Reach my 10% weight loss in six weeks (just 12 lbs to go) - I will set a new goal once I reach this mini goal
Lose 50 lbs by May 24, 2014 -- my wedding day :)

Journaling:

Post a photo every 4 weeks to monitor progress, success and setbacks
Track every day
Blogging to keep it real

This is my journey and I am excited and scared at the same time. I just want to get it right this time!
