GOYAAM Plan (October)

Saturday, October 02, 2010

(GOYAAM is the team that says, Get Off Your Ahem And Move!)
My October/Halloween challenge plan:

GOYAAM #1: Move it for 300 minutes/week
Now jogging over half of the hilly morning route, but as the days get dark and cold, I will jog on the treadmill if I must. Even if it means cutting Hudsonís walk or my shower a little short to make time for it. Iíll jog at least another quarter mile (out of the 3 miles) each week. Iíll keep using the Self Magazine's strength training dumbbell workout, because thatís working! My pilates trainer returns to the gym in 2 weeks, yay!

GOYAAM #2: No zombies! This means no mindless eating, or mindlessly letting the day get away from me without working out and loviní my family, my puppy, my life. And it means that if I forget my lunch, Iíll pick up something at the grocery store instead of the vending machine!

GOYAAM #3: Down with the demon. Thanks, YOOVIE for this idea, which I indirectly copped from your blog about the witch in the mirror. :) What is that demon saying today? And what am I doing about it? Ignore it. Or scream back at the b*#@%. Drown her in 8+ glasses of water, LOL! But she canít have my day Ė not for an afternoon, an hour, or even 5minutes.

GOYAAM Plan (September)

Monday, September 06, 2010

GOYAAM #1: Move it for 300 minutes/week
This month's plan is to not just move it, but move it HARD! I can walk and walk for ages, but I really need to increase the intensity. So I'm using Self Magazine's September cardio plan for variable intensity that I can see, measure & feel! Walking, hiking, jogging, the Firm video, and even jumping rope!

And to hold it all together, I'll need pilates and ST 2-3 times/week too.

GOYAAM #2: Custom nutrition goal. Mine is to drink ALL 8 glasses of water every day, and stay within the weekly calorie range.
Doing this by substituting tea for coffee, filling my water bottle as soon as it's empty, and TRACKING what I eat. Oh, and now that the family birthdays are over for awhile, no more cake this month! I deserve to lose weight more than I deserve the pastry!

GOYAAM #3: Connect with SP people. So I'm checking out your pages! ;)

The day off: If I don't plan one, it will happen to me anyway. So I am going in knowing that there will be 1 day/week when GOYAAM is little more than my dog walk, and that will be ok.

I feel like I really need to make progress this month. I spent the first 2/3rds of my summer healing, and now finally feel functional. It's as if my mental health now depends on making some results happen!

Karen.. It's great that you are planning one rest day into your sept. Plan. Our bodies need that time to recover. My rest day consists of taking Xena for a walk. I do not work any other muscles that day. I am currently doing P90X in conjunction with Brazil Butt lift and both programs have one day of rest mixed into the plan.

I am starting this plan right along the side of you. I am recovering from a dislocated pinky so I had to begin all of my programs again. If you would like a cyber workout buddy I am here for you - to keep you moving and grooving and keep you focused and motivated. You are going to do awesome.......
