Still No Energy!

Monday, April 02, 2012

I'm dragging again today. It's a huge accomplishment just to make it through the work day and complete a few strength training exercises this evening.

It is difficult to keep going when you have no energy left. there are several things you can try. Eat some fruit. The sugar in fruit will gtive you a boost. Listen to some music while you exercise. I find that also helps

Tired Today!

Sunday, April 01, 2012

I'm tired and grumpy today and just can't get my motor started! I'll watch a little NASCAR, prepare my lessons for tomorrow, and hope to work myself into accomplishing something substantial today! I have a lot on my to do list, and I'll feel better if I can cross a few items off today!

Bad Girl!

Saturday, March 31, 2012

I don't know what's wrong with me! (I do know there's too much wrong to address in one short blog, though!) ;) What I'd like to share today, however, is my total and complete lack of shame or guilt regarding what I put in my mouth. Overall, I think it's a really good thing to be lacking; I've read enough on sparkpeople blogs as well as advice from sparkpeople experts about how excessive guilt can be a real stumbling block in an individual's efforts toward healthier living. What I'm concerned about, though, is that my lack of guilt may be it's own stumbling block. Since I'm blessed with that lack, though, at least I've reconized a potential pitfall. I'll just have to create a plan to deal with it.

Okey dokey! My plan is as follows: I will rely on my spark diet-recommended numbers, learn to follow them more closely, and seek advice from fellow sparkers when I'm struggling. Thank you spark friends! I think I've got a cure for being a bad girl! emoticon

30 Sweaty Cardio Minutes!

Friday, March 30, 2012

I met a goal today: I worked out non-stop for 30 minutes on a stationary bicycle! Whoo hoo hoo hoo hoo! I started with a difficult 5-minute session with the "interval" setting to get my heart rate up, and then I followed that with 25 minutes at a level 3 setting. I'm so proud today, that I shed a few tears during my cool-down walk! Wow!

Now, I spent a couple of days at a hotel this week and took advantage of the pool, and that was awesome! I pushed myself to jog in the water and move major muscle groups for 40 minutes straight, but it felt so floaty and fun, that I thought I was cheating. We also hit a buffet hard for lunch one day, so even though I'd made a bunch of healthy snacks to eat on our mini-vacation, I still felt like I was slacking. I mean, I didn't even haul my butt down to the state-of-the-art fitness center once to hit the stationary bike there.

So, today when I resolved to try to make the 30 minute mark (which was my goal by the end of the month), I was afraid that I couldn't do it. I started with just ten-minute sessions five weeks ago and have been adding just a few minutes each time.

I can't thank this community enough for your support so far. You rock!

Lucky Girl

Thursday, March 29, 2012

I was thinking today what a lucky girl I am. I have a job I love, friends and family who care about me, a body that's getting healthier every day....then I reconsidered. As my dad would gently chide me, I'm not lucky, but blessed! emoticon
