Oh, my gosh! Who would have thought that walking 5 miles in a week would be such a challenge? I set this goal 5 weeks ago, and today marks the first time I've met it! It's been quite a journey. When I began my trek with sparkpeople, I really had no idea how unhealthy I was. I thought five miles a week would be a cinch, and dove into zumba and walking with alacrity. Soon, I was experiencing way too much knee pain but kept trying to increase my activity level. Only after a trip to the doctor did the pain recede enough to allow me to make the 5 mile mark. If I hadn't started working out, my arthritis would continue to be undiagnosed. Now, though, arthritis is just one more reason to lose weight!
