All of Phil's tests show no major bleeding issues, so evidentially his spleen is just eating his blood. So, today they kicked us out of intensive care, and both of us are looking forward to a better night's sleep. The doctor is trying some new meds to treat various symptoms, and we'll look into the liver transplant issue again, although Phil's not an excellent candidate. Overall, a much better day!

My sweetie suffers from hep. C and end stage liver disease because of it. So, yesterday we took him to the local VA, and his blood counts were all really low, so they sent us to the nearest V A hospital (a two hour drive). They decided to fill him up on blood and find out if he's bleeding internally, so he got checked in last night at 9:00. About an hour after I left, they moved him to the ICU. He's had 3 pints of blood so far, and his blood pressure (the bottom number, anyway) hasn't budged. He's scheduled for a scope of his esophagus this afternoon, and we'll know more later. He texted me all last night about the sadistic nurses, and he's still surley today, so I figure he can't be that bad. ;)

Two fabulous weekends in a row will raise my expectations for next weekend (no problem, I have appointments with a seafood buffet and a swimming pool at the casino next weekend, I'm covered!). Yesterday and today were just great, and they've left me feeling ENERGIZED! I spent both days with my sweetie, Phil, getting firewood. We brought home loads of red fir and tamarack that have me itching to get out to the woodshed and get splitting! Thank God and Uncle Sam, we don't have school so I can give it a try in the morning. I'll finish up the weekend cleaning house and writing a few letters of recommendation; it's scholarship season again. I wish you all are a blessed as I am!

What a fabulous weeked! Although several factors played roles in making it great, just one factor made it super-awesome: good friends.
On Saturday we had a night out to celebrate a friend's birthday. Fun-o-rama! Good food, excessive tequilla, and dancing, just as if we were in our 20's again. The birthday girl is a sweetheart and emotional when tipsy, so we were all aware of how much she loved us by the end of the night. Also in attendance were my two best friends, now dating one another: Eric and Karrie. They are the right kind of people to have as friends; they'll do anything for me (as they proved by helping on my roof this summer!). My man, the DD, manfully drove us all home safely.
Yesterday, I spent hours swimming with a retired friend I don't get to see very often. It was good for my soul. I got a good workout and meaningful conversation at the same time. She's a true soul-sister!
Sparkfriends are another one of the things I'm thankful for. You guys keep me grounded, make me feel loved, worthwhile, and encouraged, hold me accountable, and give me love and smiles daily. Thank you!! I'm truly blessed.

Boy, I had a rough day today. I overslept, had to deal with squirley freshmen all day, was rushed to complete grade changes, and informed of a webinar I was supposed to attend with our superintendent at the last minute (I declined), and was disappointed with my man's efforts today. However, I was encouraged by a new Sparkfriend's message, got a nice ride in before dinner on my stationary bike, stayed within my calorie range (for a change), and I refuse to continue being a grump this evening. Instead, I will end the day by counting my blessings instead of sheep!
