Stable!

Sunday, March 10, 2013

Phil's stable, although they may give him one more pint just to "top him off." We're hoping he gets to come home tomorrow.

I'm exhausted! What a rotten week to move the clocks forward. :/ I'll get tho bed early and be ready for work tomorrow. Yee ha! Thanks for your prayers!

Kicked Out of ICU!

Saturday, March 09, 2013

All of Phil's tests show no major bleeding issues, so evidentially his spleen is just eating his blood. So, today they kicked us out of intensive care, and both of us are looking forward to a better night's sleep. The doctor is trying some new meds to treat various symptoms, and we'll look into the liver transplant issue again, although Phil's not an excellent candidate. Overall, a much better day!

I'm surely praying for Phil's recovery and whatever it takes to get him back on his feet. Please be sure to guard your health as well. I can't do much for you, physically, right now as we're leaving for FL on Tue but, if you need to talk at anytime give me a buzz on my cell2086106126. We'll be back on 3/27. I'll try to check up on you via kindle in the meantime but, being technologically challenged, I'll just promise to do my best. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you always.
Love ya,

I'm glad you are out of intensive care. I don't think sleeping in the hospital is very relaxing what with nurses administering care around the clock. HOpe his situation stabilizes enough that you can go home and convalesce there.

Phil Update!

Thursday, March 07, 2013

My sweetie suffers from hep. C and end stage liver disease because of it. So, yesterday we took him to the local VA, and his blood counts were all really low, so they sent us to the nearest V A hospital (a two hour drive). They decided to fill him up on blood and find out if he's bleeding internally, so he got checked in last night at 9:00. About an hour after I left, they moved him to the ICU. He's had 3 pints of blood so far, and his blood pressure (the bottom number, anyway) hasn't budged. He's scheduled for a scope of his esophagus this afternoon, and we'll know more later. He texted me all last night about the sadistic nurses, and he's still surley today, so I figure he can't be that bad. ;)

I'm sorry to hear about your sweetie and still able to joke about about the sadistic nurses in spite of it.

That sounds all horrible but like you said if he is still feisty take it as a good sign.

Oh, My Gosh!

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Two fabulous weekends in a row will raise my expectations for next weekend (no problem, I have appointments with a seafood buffet and a swimming pool at the casino next weekend, I'm covered!). Yesterday and today were just great, and they've left me feeling ENERGIZED! I spent both days with my sweetie, Phil, getting firewood. We brought home loads of red fir and tamarack that have me itching to get out to the woodshed and get splitting! Thank God and Uncle Sam, we don't have school so I can give it a try in the morning. I'll finish up the weekend cleaning house and writing a few letters of recommendation; it's scholarship season again. I wish you all are a blessed as I am!

Glad you had a good weekend. My husband and I enjoyed a performance by the UGA opera department of "The Magic Flute". The university really puts on some good productions. It's nice living in a college town.

Thankful for Good Friends!!

Monday, February 11, 2013

What a fabulous weeked! Although several factors played roles in making it great, just one factor made it super-awesome: good friends.

On Saturday we had a night out to celebrate a friend's birthday. Fun-o-rama! Good food, excessive tequilla, and dancing, just as if we were in our 20's again. The birthday girl is a sweetheart and emotional when tipsy, so we were all aware of how much she loved us by the end of the night. Also in attendance were my two best friends, now dating one another: Eric and Karrie. They are the right kind of people to have as friends; they'll do anything for me (as they proved by helping on my roof this summer!). My man, the DD, manfully drove us all home safely.

Yesterday, I spent hours swimming with a retired friend I don't get to see very often. It was good for my soul. I got a good workout and meaningful conversation at the same time. She's a true soul-sister!

Sparkfriends are another one of the things I'm thankful for. You guys keep me grounded, make me feel loved, worthwhile, and encouraged, hold me accountable, and give me love and smiles daily. Thank you!! I'm truly blessed.

I'm swimming with a bud on Minday, really looking forward to catching up and exercising too, rather than lunching together.
Have a good weekend!

Swimming, I envy you, have not been in the water for ages.
Good food, excessive tequila, and dancing with great friends! I envy you even more.
I am happy you had such a great time.
