Unfortunately, since then, . . .

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

Since that Christmas party, I've been overindulging in sweets almost daily, and going over my caloric range by an average of 1,000! There is some good news: I've still been active: shoveling snow, chopping firewood, and getting little workouts on my new exercise bike, so the scale has not reflected my poor eating habits. I've got to break the habit of snacking for an hour every night, though. I want my calories to reflect some nutrition. I'll start by eating a single portion this evening, and I will not buy any more sweets. Snacks will be fruit.

I did great at the party! Only two glasses of wine and one small plate!

Awesome! I stick to red wines. Unfortunately, we had our Christmas dinner early, and my brother in law broke out with Whipped Vodka. Holy crap! I had three shots. I do enjoy a glass of Skinny Girl red wine. As pretentious as the label sounds, the wine is not bad.

Great! Sounds like you approached the party with a plan and stuck to it. Congrats -- it always feels great when you survive a possible undoing like that.

Party Challenge!

Work Christmas party tonight. In preparation, I did not choose the prime rib option, but I will be tempted by a bevy of tasty treats and drinks. I'll let you know how it went tomorrow!

Making Strides!

I'm getting a bit more done every day to get out from under this deluge of paperwork. Again, one day at a time!

One day at a time and one step at a time does get the job done.

Now What?

Monday, December 10, 2012

So, we're moved in, I got the rental house cleaned yesterday, I'm over the stomach flu, and I'm still feeling overwhelmed. Maybe that's just how I deal with things, and I'll never feel caught up. My normal coping technique is to break down my list of things to do into three categories: today, this week, and sometime later. Today, I got up at 4:15 to get my progress report grades turned in on time, called the plumber by 8:30 so he can begin work today, and now, during my lunch time, I have so much to do that I don't know where to start. It's time to begin making my lists. :) One day at a time!
