I got most of the yard at our new place weed-eaten today, avoiding scarred showers! :)

Too Hard?

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

Who would have thought that I'd ever push myself too hard? I mean, 18 weeks ago my butt was still glued to the couch. When I tried to become more active is when I discovered that I had arthritis; my knees weren't too painful when I spent so much time on my butt. When I looked into hydro-therapy after a discussion with my doctor, I found out that my insurance would pay 80% of the cost after I meet my $2,000 deductible. Sheesh. I'm not good at math, but even I could figure out that it would be more cost effective to just get a gym membership. So, I've been going to water aerobics a couple of times a week, and I can't believe how awesome my knees and feet feel. That brings us back to the topic at hand: working took hard. I was feeling so awesome that I pushed myself a bit too much this weekend. I gave myself an awesome workout on a stairstepper, doing calesthenics between 3 minute treks "upstairs." Ouch! Yesterday and today I could barely walk! Until, that is, I hobbled in to the water aerobics class this evening and worked hard for over an hour. Water...the wonderful, healing power of water! I feel awesome!

I have worried about going "too far" before since I stay home and my son still sleeps in a crib. I need more upper body strength -LOL, ok, I need more OVERALL strenght :P - but if I can't pick him up, I will be in serious trouble.

I would think maybe stick to water as much as possible the next few days and see how it goes.

I am proud of you for pushing so hard, even if it was too much. :) I admire your drive.

I hope you feel better soon! emoticon
