I'm watching my soap opera General Hospital at the moment- I've only been a daily fan since 1999.

I watched it and All My Children in the 70's and off and on since then as my schedule allowed with work. Been watching daily since 2011 and feel like I didn't miss a thing! HA!

I watch Y&R, love it, my parents started it right after I was born, so I guess I have been watching all of my life. Usually I hit the treadmill while it is on, instead of sitting down and vegging out while it is on.

Reading is...

Sunday, December 14, 2014

calmly organizing my mind shifting through what is & what isn't necessary while entertaining me with story

I like fiction to be the entertaining story while all 'this organizational stuff' is going on

Reading is how I meditate.

I solve more problems in my life with my nose in a book than any other way

Because while I read away my worries, my mind is secretly finding solutions of how to work things out

usually by the time the novel is finished, I have a solution to a real life problem already in the works

I saw a quote the other day which was something like 'a book is a machine - because you have to get into it to understand it' - it's a sort of thinking machine! I love my books too - nice to see the positive side of reading (I think I use my reading time mainly to escape - and perhaps procrastinate!)

I like this...TV is passive and reading is active. A good book relaxes the mind.
