Ugh! Yuck! Glad it's done.

I finally got to tick off a chore that was on my list for a long time: cleaning behind the fridge. I figured since I'm going to the dentist anyway I might as well totally ruin my day.

It was a big job but I do feel accomplished, plus it stopped me from boredom eating which is often a problem on my flex day. And I believe I've earned my sushi lunch!

Ahhh - Summer!

Saturday, June 12, 2010

After a disgusting wet and cold spring it seems we're finally in for a stretch of nice weather. Of course it gets too hot right away but at least we're into average seasonal temperatures.

Saw the first local strawberries at the market today, so of course I had to buy some and make jam. PBJ just isn't the same without homemade strawberry jam.

My gooseberry bush is overwhelming me with berries; some are split because we had so much rain but still there are tons. I think this year, rather than driving myself crazy with picking the little fuzzy flower thingie off every berry for making jam, I'll be trying gooseberry jelly.

Weight loss and fitness are going well - I've been able to increase my weights over the past week again. That's always a good feeling. And we'll be having a black belt grading next weekend! Unfortunately it's not my grading yet, but I'll better be paying attention since it's likely the last one I'll be seeing before it's my turn next year.

A Good Day

Saturday, June 05, 2010

A couple of weeks ago I went clothes shopping and bough a pair of pants in size 14. Today I decided since this is now the only pair I own that doesn't require suspenders I better get a couple more. I thought optimistically I'll try size 12, since I was that close the last time and the 14s are a bit loose. Long story short, size 12 was TOO BIG! I am now wearing size 10 summer pants. My wedding dress was size 10; that was 30 years ago.

After shopping I went to the gym. Was I motivated? You bet! emoticon

17% smaller!

Friday, May 28, 2010

This has been a strange week. Between uproar at work and getting sick with a tummy bug I ended up losing 2 lbs, so the little fish on my ticker swam past the first 25% mark. Added to the weight I lost before joining SP, I've lost over 1/6th or 17% of my body weight over the past year. But I can say with confidence the last 2 lbs were painful and I much prefer the SP method.

Sad thing: one of the girls at work said she wished she would get sick so she could lose weight. I sent her the SP URL.

Welcome Weekend!

Saturday, May 22, 2010

TGIF - and a lovely long weekend. Work has been very unpleasant this week, with our employer throwing us curve balls right left and center, so I'm happy I don't have to think about it for three days.

Had a great karate class tonight. Now I'm relaxing with the latest novel by Jim Butcher, but I've got gardening and dog walking lined up for tomorrow and a BBQ with friends in the evening.
