Taking care of business Thursday

Thursday, March 18, 2010

I am taking care of business today. I received an offer on my home emoticon. My realtor handling my sale advise me to counteroffer. Let the games begin, but to get an offer this quick after officially being listed put a little spring in my step. I am finally getting my insurance switched over so I can get my vehicles plated. The rates are about the same and I even opened a new savings/checking account with USAA. They were highly rated on CNN Money poll and I do not want to give big banks my business when they do little to help the ones hurt by this money fallout. I am still looking for my bailout.

I am conversing with God. My life, my job, my new digs seem a bit overwhelming and chaotic this week. I know God is with me and He is my comfort. I will draw to Him and focus on Him instead of man-who has been know to disappoint every now and again. I plan on making the most of all of my God given opportunities to have Heaven on Earth! emoticon

I am amazed that your house is selling so quickly but we do have a big God do we not? We bought our house 18 years ago in the midst of a housing slump. We sold our house within a few months of listing it. So I should believe God can still do that shouldn't I ? Why do I doubt he can do what he has already been so faithful to do??

I have been through the school of hard knocks for a while now. I am just coming out of a bad depression. But praise God I am getting better! We have had a few beautiful days and I have been out in them!! Trusting God will continue his work in us all! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Possibility Thinking

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

I am wearing green today in honor of my Mom who was a first grade school teacher for 44 years in Detroit. She would wear something green and take green donuts into her classroom to help the children celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Green was one of my Mom's favorite colors and my entire name is Irish so it goes without saying I will wear my green work shirt today.

I had blogged earlier this morning when I came in from work. Unfortunately due to system updates, it did not take. I was doing some possibility thinking. I was thinking about the day I will see Mom again in Heaven, that we can have Heaven right here on earth, living righteously and standing tall. I am missing my Mom a little more than usual, but then again, what is usual? I just know that I have to keep standing firmly on solid ground, look to the good Lord for assistance and guidance and live my life in the way Moma would want me to. I know that I will have some good days and some not so good, but to take them all as a learning experience and still try to lead my life where my steps are ordered.

I am posting this picture of me again at the tender age of twenty-two months. The reason I like this picture of me so much is that the photographer was my Mom and I know in my heart of hearts she loved me so very much and was saying "smile, Kelly smile, show me your teeth!
emoticon" I know she is in Heaven now telling me she is okay and to smile, Everything may seem chaotic now, but she wants me to smile. She is whole and healthy and I will see her again!

Thank you to all of my Spark family that posted precious words of support and encouragement on my blog yesterday. It bought tears to my eyes and gave me a spot of hope that this too shall pass in time. Thank you, thank you, thank you emoticon

What God has planned for me...

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

I am up early today after getting Monday under my belt. I was thinking about celebrating my first birthday in a few weeks without my Mom being here on earth with me. I was able to stumble through Thanksgiving, crawled through Christmas and just blinked through the New Year's. 2010 is a year of firsts for me, a bunch of firsts that I do not want to acknowledge. It comes with the territory and I just wonder what God has planned for me this day.

I can't fast forward to the end of week or wonder about tomorrow. I am learning to take it one day at a time and make it my best day. I am adjusting, I am adjusting, I am adjusting. I keep telling myself that. I have to keep my focus, not give into impulse or easy temptations that seem to pop up (sale on ice cream or coupons for KFC in my face! emoticon)

So for this Tuesday, today, I am focusing on what God has planned for me. I am letting the Holy Spirit lead and guide me. I am a child of the King and will not give satan any ground in my life today. I will speak life to all those around me and let my Christ light shine on emoticon

Hang in there. Thinking of God first will only help you through the days ahead. It is through His strength that we can achieve what may seem like the impossible.

I understand totally about the loss of a parent. My father went home to the Lord on July 4. Now, there's a holiday that will be hard to handle this year. I was what you would call a Daddy's girl and am an only child so losing him really hurts.

I pray that God gives you the strength you need for the days ahead.

Honey, if I could hug you I would cause I know how you feel. I have come to this place of being without my mom & I know she's with me in my heart. I can talk with her as plain as day & I know what she would've said in each situation. So celebrate that you had a great relationship with her. My mom would drive me nuts but that just makes me laugh now. lol So be encouraged & we are here for you Sweetie! Don't let the devil ride cause he will try to guide. Let the Holy Spirit rest rule & abide within you. I know we see it in you. . . . . .

God bless & !

Just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve the death of your mom. I am glad that you are taking it one day at a time and count yourself as a child of the King. There is no one way to grieve, no time frame to grieve, no good way, no bad way. I have grieved much and sometimes the image of letting myself be surrounded by God's angels, resting my head in their feathers, just doing whatever I needed to do, helped me. It may or may not be for you. I just pray that God give you whatever you need at the time that you need it.

God Bless you and Take Care.
May you feel the Peace that Passes all Understanding,
Amy L

Let God lead you. I know the feeling. I lost my mom when I was very young and certain situations make me sad and think of what could have been.

This week I was challenged to complete my least favorite chore CLEANING. I usually get depressed and sad because of the clutter and finding old things that make me remember.
I blasted so much praise and worship in my house I got through tears and all. I also, watched Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer on DVD before I started anything. I know people often told me She is in a better place but you don't feel that way when your heart hurts. I do know that Gos is watching us and wants us to continue to walk in his anointing. Put on your music and praise and thank God for every moment you had with her and the things she will be watching you do in your future. Be Blessed!! God has your back.

Monday Monday

Monday, March 15, 2010

The first day of a six day work week. I can use the extra eight hours in my check this week to help cover my dog's dental work. I wish I could add both of them on my health insurance. Oh well, what am I to do, my dog has to have teeth to eat emoticon

I spend Sunday resting, rest that I truly needed. Driving all day Saturday was a bit tiring and I purposely rested since I knew I was going to have a busy work week. It is cool and rainy here in KC, so the weather helped my sinus.

My Aunt emailed me yesterday that my Grandma was taken to the emergency room yesterday pretty much for the same thing she was admitted for earlier this year. Gran Gran is 93 years young and she is a fighter. I have been lifting her up in prayer that she pulls through again. I truly believe that Jesus is the the healer! emoticon

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you begin your round of 6 day weeks. It sounds like you have a very physically demanding job! I am impressed by your positive attitude and excitement you have for your job! I will also keep your grandma in my prayers. My grandma lived to be 106. She was a real fighter, too. Keep us informed on how she is doing.

Peaceful Sunday

Sunday, March 14, 2010

This is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad. I took this day to give God praise and get some much needed rest. emoticon I stocked up on my fish oil that the doctor wants me to take daily, finally able to get an eyebrow wax which made me feel much better! I invested into a rolling cart to use for work, my back pack was getting too heavy with all the water and ice I carry daily to work.

I found this wonderful little poem from a friend's website. It helped me today when i was thinking about my Mom. Author is unknown but said it very appropriately.

" Thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, with which I'll never part. God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart." (Author Unknown)

My sister in NY just called me with laughter in her voice. It was good to hear her laugh. It has been hard on all of us. She was telling me to turn to NBC to watch this new show "Minute to Win It". She was saying Moma would love this type of show. I told her she probably was already watching it in Heaven. emoticon

The Lord blesses and blesses! I had a great day, filled with Praise also. My Mom's 81st birthday is tomorrow and she will be celebrating it in Heaven. Maybe she has met your Mom? :), and if so, believe me, it has been a joyous time! Find comfort in your memories, they will sustain you, with the Lord's help.
