Getting My Runs Done

Since I am now part of a healthy wage weight loss team (healthywage.com), I am now setting my new schedule in getting my run/walks done and out the way. Today I had to set up my new fitness gps/music mp3 player, so t took a little more time to get out of the door, but I went early this morning, mapped a route here in my complex and took to the pavement. It was ugly, it was brutal, but I logged a mile in before returning home to get lunch and laundry started and showered before heading to bed. I slept a little rocky, having my schedule thrown off. I am no worse for wear, glad to be able to get this in the logbook and I am looking forward to working out with my group Saturday morning!

My work schedule was suppose to shift this week, but my training was canceled. It works out for the best, I didn't want to work two twelve hours days anyways. I am going to be purging some more stuff in my second room this weekend. My goal is to finally get this closet organized and ready for my treadmill that I plan to go pick up from storage next weekend, seeing how we have a extra day off for the holidays

Dealing with difficult people

I have to interact with different personalities at work in the course of my job. Some folks are more difficult than others. I had to learn to watch my tone and body language. I also have learned not to let people in general hold me hostage because their own personal issues. I can't solve all the world's problems and I know some folks have chips on their shoulders. I am not going to make the effort to break their spirits even further or try to go deep and resolve their life's problems. I am learning my leadership style, to exhale, be slow to speak, think the problem through and come up with a plan of execution. Simple, not complicated, just take more sweet than bitter.

Jesus is life, the rest is just details.

Wow! I love this blog! This is so true, life is about dealing with these personality types. I know there have been times I felt irritable but I always try to be pleasant and not take my mood out on others. When someone is cranky or negative I try to think what might be going on in their lives to make them react this way, although some people are just naturally mean-spirited and ill-tempered, I try not to let it ruin my day and yes, we need t thank the Lord for these people but it makes us stronger in him. I know my Mom and Grandmas and all other Moms in heaven and earth are celebrating today as we honor Mothers. I visited a new church one exit up the highway from me, Lenexa Christian Center today. I have been looking since November 2009 for a church home and so far I really enjoyed today's message. I went to the 9am service and this church reminds me of Church on the Rock and my sister's church back home in Michigan. I felt comfortable, the Pastor taught with zeal and enthusiasm and I felt a kind of peace settle over me. I can attend next Sunday and still make it to my Union Hall for our monthly fellowship at 11am-having the best of both worlds!

It feels good to get back into a Sunday routine, despite having to go to work tonight. I know that my midnight assignment is not complete and I am here for a reason. I know my steps are ordered and I know God has big plans in store for me. I am looking forward to this new season in my life, beginning this week with my new running coach and doing a C25K program. I am determined to get this weight off, tone up, strengthen my financial footing and plan for my future, in Jesus' name!

Gift to myself

I gave myself the gift of not having to wring a dirty mop around and picked up a shark steamer. Perfect for the kitchen, that is where I keep the dogs when I am not home. No chemicals,which I like and I can convert it a hand held and steam my shower walls, counter tops, mattress and even freshen up the carpet. Wow its the little things in life that get me excited . I told my sister that I may get rid of that old swiffer wet jet, just like on the commercial.

I did a lot today, just like I did yesterday, I will begin C25k training next week. I went to my WW early Saturday morning meeting at my other center. I did a Trader Joe's run and picked up some cute potted begonias and took one over to my former neighbor today, wishing her a Happy Mother's day. She has a birthday coming up and reminds me of Moma a little bit. I wanted to show love to those around me. Next weekend, I will help my girlfriend celebrate her birthday with a little get together. I am all in for celebrating
I spent a little too much, picking up some things I didn't plan on, like a new pair of glasses I ordered and another new purse I won off ebay , the color is beautiful though . This is why I work, but I know when to tighten it up. I paid in full another bill off this past payperiod , along with my usual bills and I know I will never see that bill again next month,forever gone. Make some, spend some and save some. My savings is still intact and I did add a little to my emergency fund. Overall, I am still forging ahead with my financial peace plan!

Anniversary of Working

I have been with my current employer for 12 years today Four plants, 800 miles from Michigan and I am still standing. GM has helped me keep decent cars(with an s) in the driveway, bought and sold brand new home, clothes in the closet, two poodles, household gadgets. I am blessed beyond measure with my job and I do not take it for granted. I am looking for bigger and better things in my life now that I am here in Kansas and to God be the glory, despite losing my Mom three years ago which was tough, I have survived a divorce and movement from state to state.
