Getting Saturday On

One week in my new home and I am still getting adjusted. I wanted to spend this day unpacking and getting things in place. I am very tired still, and i just used today to rest, did some grocery shopping at Aldi's, picked up a gift card at Kohl's for my Step Mom and cooked some brown rice and chicken. I didn't want to eat out and I knew because I am tired that I might make poor purchase decisions. There were a lot of places I could have gone, but I stayed within a two mile radius of my new home and just talked with family and friends on the phone, took an extended nap and just straighten up a bit. I have a lot to do and know it won't get done in a day, I am learning balance and how to pace myself.

I looked around in Kohl's and picked up a sink stopper in Bed Bath and Beyond. I can always find whatever kitchen gadget I need in BBB, love that store. I saw some art work I am going to go back and pick up along with my guest bathroom decor. Kohl has great clothing and always something on sale. It gives me great incentive to drop the weight off in order to buy nice decent stylish pieces to give my wardrobe a boost up. I no longer want to settle for the boxy Walmart wear just because they have my size. Time to get things in gear and kick it up notch, I am approaching my 50th next April and it is my goal to be on and popping.

Friday's On

Well its been one week since I made the big move and I am still unpacking trying to organize my chaos. It has been a long tumultuous week, working hard getting the production done and trying to come home and unpack for little bit. The poodles and I are still adjusting and I plan on having an in-home session with myself all day tomorrow. That is quite unusual for me on a Saturday, but I need to put things in order, place things in cabinets and organize my clothes. I am tired and i have an eight hour shift to complete tonight then, it will be me time. I got on the scale when I came in last night and I didn't like the number Both my knees have been giving me the blues this week, a lot to do with all the moving I did last weekend and not getting enough sleep. I have been dealing with issues back home in Detroit, tire expected purchases and list keeps growing. So sleeping in and getting my act together here in my new home is the name of the game for me and I am going to do it!

Getting On

I made it to Thursday. I am tired it seems by trying to unpack and organize, then off to work for a crazy fast paced schedule. I am going to take this weekend to get down to business and get my self situated and maybe do some cardio walking here in my new complex. I am not going to rip and run all over creation, I do plan on attending a prayer dinner on Sunday at our union hall, but that is about it. My knee is acting ugly again and I am fearful of having to go back to the doctor, it is too early for treatment. I need to get focused on my trip home in a couple of weeks and start preparing to go back to school.

So much to do, so little time. I know I will get it done, it is about how I execute my plan that God has laid before me!

Such a Great Man

I lost another cousin again. That is two for this summer. My cousin Tony died in his sleep yesterday. I heard the pain in my father's voice as he called me yesterday right before I was getting ready for work to tell me the news. It hit our family facebook page like a flood. I spoke with my Aunt last evening on my break from work and she said everyone was in shock and devastated. Tony was a loving son, husband, father, brother, cousin, friend anyone could ever have. He was large in size and in spirit. He was smart and brainy and so very funny. He could make you laugh over the silliest of stuff. I think the last time I saw him was at my Mom's funeral twenty-two months ago. He would just crack me up with some of the trivial pursuit games and old school song raps he would post of facebook. Truly a gentle giant, he was like everyone else trying to provide for his family,keep a decent roof over his head and food in the fridge. He taught high school French and was going to law school part time. Such a great and unassuming man, Tony is beloved and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Heaven opened its doors yesterday and said "Welcome Tony, well done good and faithful servant". Sweet peace dear Cousin, I will see you again!

Getting my chaos together

Well the move is over and now the real works begins. Back to reality and getting my chaos organized. I got my old place all cleaned out, one day before my lease ended. I am tired, but I know that too will pass. I now have to get back to my reality, get organized here in the new apartment, get back on track with my eating plan, start back up with my exercise program (I want to do a 5k in November) and prepare for my road trip home in a few weeks to begin another clean out of my Mom's home.

I am also waiting for a new team assignment since I completed my Team Lead certification with flying colors. I am doing some possibility thinking of my future with my current employer and defining my purpose in life and doing it with passion. My sister overseas has some wonderful opportunities for her next career move, a wonderful blessing after being hit hard like everyone else with the economy in 2007. She was the main care giver for my Mom and now that Moma has gone on glory, my sister picked up and moved to the Philippines last July. She is flourishing over there and it got me to thinking outside of my own comfort zone. I know what lies ahead for my future, my steps are ordered by the Good Lord!
