I went out for sushi last night, and I now believe it is the ultimate indulgence in eating out. My calorie counter hit over 4000 before I could blink! I didn't think I ate that much, I only did two orders with my girlfriend, we normally do three or four! And I picked a healthy helping of Sashimi instead of additional rolls! We even had a helping of edename (sp?) to fill us up on healthy food first. Yeah.... RIGHT....
It's not good for you, none of it! It's high in calories, carbs and fat. It's way more then we should ever eat in a sitting and not really that filling so you eat ALOT. Yes, I know there are people out there who say "But I eat one little roll and I'm so full!" well Sparkles, not me!
I could eat sushi for hours. It's worse then turkey. I literally could eat it till I fell asleep. I love it. The choices and flavours make my mouth water, the green tea is fabulous with it, and the artistic way it's presented makes me OOohhh and Aweee. Love it.
And now I'm in post eating guilt filled regret. *booo
So, I went to the gym with my coworker (we'll call him Gruff) and got my but handed to me. No, we didn't do tons of cardio. We just burned it up today with triceps and chest workout for 60 minutes. And you know what he said? "Well since you have all that fuel in you, lets put it towards building your muscles!" I'm not sure how scientifically accurate that was, but man was it a good motivator! He's now walking around the office telling everyone he "Broke" me. But really he didn't. I'm sore, but I'm happy about it. And tomorrow, I'm going to run.

So, superbowl happend this past weekend, the Ravens won and I lost. I lost because though I was within my daily limits for food and was careful about what I ate, I gaven in to temptation and drank. I drank with gusto, and I drank COSMOS!
I drank six cosmos. Six delicious 150 claorie drinks.
And though I was certainly very happy when I went to bed, and I woke up feeling like a million bucks, having slept a solid night through with no inturpution or dreams. I slept the sleep of the dead. It was blissful. I did look at my Sparks page about two hours after waking and realize. "Oh damn, I'm so screwed."
It's okay though. I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I logged the calories. I admited it. I took responsibility for my consumption for the first time. So often I will have one glass of wine, or one cocktail and not count it. But this time I did, and you know what? I will next time! It's not so bad as I thought. It reminded me of my goals.
So on Monday I drank water till I floated. I ate a healthy meal and stayed between my ranges. And I'm going to do the same today, but rather then a 35 minute run I'm going for my usual crazy gym Tuesday. Fifty minutes of spinning followed by 20 minutes of abs. It burns close to 650 net calories. It's intense and leaves me like a limp celery stick, but I'm happy I'm about to do it.
This isn't a race to the finish. It's a change. I've made it back down to 189lbs and I'm not stopping. Well Sparkles I'm on my way, now we need to make sure I don't get lost.

I seem to have an issue with Calories, I either eat too few, or to many.
Yesterday I thought I had a perfectly balanced day, Special K for breakfast, meal replacement shake for lunch (super busy day), and a healthy salad, roast salmon and couscous for dinner! I got all high and mighty and shouted (within the confines of my brain) "Yes I can do this!" then I looked at my day and it informed my I had not eaten within my daily range, no this time I wasn't above it, I was below! Like 200 calories below my low end number.
And I know my stupid body, I know that if it's deprived it does dumb things to me... like starvation mode 3.0... things like causing me to gain weight!
It was a moment from hell. It was a devil vs angel shoulder battle royal. Do I eat the extra food?
Angel: Yes, go eat a healthy snack like carrots and celery! Maybe add a bit of peanut butter as a treat since you're low on fats today.
Kalika (Me):We're all out of that... I suppose I could go to the store...
Devil: Are you kidding me? Skip it, you're large enough your body doesn't need those calories, you want to lose weight right? And if you're going out it better be for something WORTH IT.
Angel: Well, you did over eat this weekend, maybe this time your body won't rebel against you and make you want to kick your hormones in their proverbial spleen.
Devil: Or you could splurge! You've eaten health all day, you're sufficient in Protein and Carbs, just go have something fatty and delicious!
Angel: Silence. Well... why don't you try going for a walk and pick up something since you ate all the good stuff in the house?
Me: That sounds logical...
And the winner folks? A Grandee Starbucks 2% hot chocolate. *facepalm
Did I stay within all my ranges yesterday? Yes! Did the Devil win anyways? yes. Did I enjoy the hell out of that Starbucks? HELL YES.
Oh well. Better luck next time. "Yimmy? Can you please go to the store after work and by celery, carrots, apples and berries? Yes dear I know you just bought all that three days ago, yes dear I did eat it all... Darling? Please shut up about how we have crackers and a bag of chips in the cupboard and just do it already would yeah?"

Good morning Sparky Bloggers!
Okay, so dinner turned out okay and when I graphed everything yesterday was in fact my BEST DAY YET! I kept everything within my ranges, Fats, carbs, protein AND here's the big news, in the right proportions on my recommended intake charts! Woot!
Today's breaky was Special K with 2% milk and lunch will consist of some fruit a protein shake and yogurt. Now if I could just work on the blender situation I could put that all in one glass and save myself some hassle.... damn being at work and unable to blend!
On the down side, my computer room is in no way cleaner then yesterday and the Wii did not get turned on. Tried to convince Yimmy to go for a walk after dinner and failed. We watched a documentary instead. :(
Today though is my BIG day at the gym. I go to Goodlife on my lunch and today we spin, AND do a 30 minute ab only workout... total net burn? Best I can figure? 608 cals.
Which brings me to my subtitle. I need HELP! And I mean HELP with a big old capital H.
Do people on here use heart rate monitors to calculate their calories burned? I would like one and have been looking online for about a month now. I'm trying to keep in between $100 - $200 and would like one that in some way links to my iphone for easy tracking of my activity levels. Also once a month I'd like to wear it for 24 hours to test my base daily burn. Lastly, though it's not exactly a requirement it sure is a "nice to have". I'd like one that would be usable in monitoring my heart rate while I'm swimming. I use aquatic activities often and when I try entering them into my Sparks account I feel it's grossly over estimating my calories burned as I'm a very effective swimming and don't believe it's as strenuous on my body as say, someone who was never a lifeguard. As such, it would be fantastic to see what a more accurate reading is and work with that instead.
I've been looking mainly at Polar and Nike+ and I'm not sure what other possible brands are out there, So.... my Sparkles, if anyone has information, knows people with information, or knows people who know people with information on the best ones on the market (even if it's above my price range, as i would be willing to save more for a better model if it was worth it) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!

SO, the weekend... Oh what fresh hell is this? I did go for a walk both days, but that certainly didn't make up for the Nachos, fish and chips, Saag Paneer and the BEER and BOOZE! I didn't even try to track the alcohol intake on here, it was to scary! I suppose I should but we'll see...
Today though I'm on the ball, protein shake for breakfast (which I need to get my blender out and start incorporating in some veg and fruit into). And I'm having one chicken drum for lunch with a fennel salad and peas.
Dinner. I don't know.
I will also be going down to the gym on my lunch break, and along with cleaning my computer room I hope to play some WiiFit tonight.
