Breakthrough!!

Tuesday, August 07, 2012

I am so happy tonight! For the first time I have managed to go jogging in daylight! I have never been able to do that before because I was too paranoid about what other people thought. This is made worse as I live in a small place where everyone knows everyone.

I just decided today to take the bull by the horns and it worked!

YAY!!

Day one - OMG

Monday, August 06, 2012

Hi!

Well day one has been interesting. I last attempted to diet in January as a new years resolution and it went well for about two months. I improved my fitness a bit. I did one of the fitness DVD's today that I had been doing then today and OMG I am so unfit since then. I will just have to keep on going.

I am struggling to think of variety for healthy breakfasts that are quick. I have no idea what to make. I will just need to go search the net.

I am hoping using a blog will help me keep on track.

Talk to you all soon!

Try the Quaker instant oatmeal mixes - they even have weight loss ones - and add fresh fruit to it.. or make your own steel cut oatmeal and save it in airtight container for up to a week. When you go to reheat is, put some in a bowl with a tablespoon of water and mush it around to loosen it and then heat for about a minute. Add fresh fruit (banana, bluberries, peaches, strawberries, or raisins and nuts.. and 1 T maple syrup or brown sugar) add milk if you want it. It's a great filling breakfast and about 300 calories total. I get my dairy, fiber, and two fruits in that first meal.

Welcome to SP. It's a great site! Be sure and sign up for Spark America and when you set up your exercises, just remove any you can't do or don't want and put in those you do. Be sure and schedule a day for cardio so you have access to the "other exercises" page where the walking, housework, playing with children etc. are to be found. When you are done, set up your Appointment calendar to send you reminders and when they come, click on the link then fitness and just check them off as you do them. Such a great feature. Use your spark points page to help you use and learn all the fantastic tools we have at this site. Visit others pages and get to know them better. Again, welcome to a great site. emoticon

Glad to see you're working on your health. You may not be as fit as you were, but you've begun the journey to a healthier you...the most important decision! As far as breakfast goes, I like instant packets of oatmeal or cereal, vanilla Oikos Greek yogurt, and either a banana or some grapes...it has to be portable and quick for me, as I eat on the run a lot...work! I've found that the food tracker helps me a lot. It's hard to deny the truth when it's staring back at you. It's very eye opening as to how much you're eating. Blogging is a great tool as well, the feedback and support is very helpful. Welcome to Spark and Good luck! emoticon
